We spent two days in Venezia for carnevale and we happened to walk past this little place for breakfast and decided to go back for dinner. Our breakfast was affordable and delicious! The owner who often is standing outside gave us his card and said if we come back later for dinner they'd make sure to find us a spot and they kept their word! As soon as we showed up they made sure to get us a table and everyone was friendly and attentive. The bruschetta was delicious and so was our dinner and dessert. Times have changed We came to this restaurant a few times in the past 2-3 years. Despite other negative feedback we ended up always happy with both the food and the staff. We mostly come in fall...maybe better than in the high season. So naturally we came back for dinner here this fall. But boy, did we get disappointed this time. Staff was fine though, but they didn't seem too happy. Of course 2020 has taken its toll or/and they knew that their standard has dropped. One could see by the looks of the main dishes that this wasn't prepared by the same cook as the other times we came. And the lack of any flavour just confirmed it. The starter - fried seafood - was a big let-down already. Soggy and bland. It's hard to mess up a fried dish, but they surely did. Lobster pasta and Spaghetti Vongole for the main. Bland sauce, cheap-quality vongole and just no flavours at all. Where's the seafood broth where the pasta should've been cooked in? And then every Italian's nightmare: the pasta was overcooked. And if you overcook pasta in Italy you have clearly lost. I don't know who's in the kitchen, but every real Italian wouldn't...well COULDN'T mess pasta up that badly. The wine was ok, a bit pricey, but that wasn't news. Too bad, we really liked this restaurant before. But this was definitely the last visit here. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! We ordered the Chicken Milanese and the Four Cheese Gnocchi. The Chicken was plain and very dry. The cheese sauce on the Gnocchi was too viscous and unappealing. Service was slow and rude. Note that they tack on additional charges and service fees. We should have checked the Yelp reviews prior to dining here, as they had a poor rating and weak reviews! Our suggestion is to pass by this sad restaurant and try another on this main drag. Or better yet, get off this touristy avenue and try some of the much better options off the very well beaten path. Try the Trattoria Fontana, just a few minutes from this restaurant, on a canal. read more

Bread was old and crumbly and the shrimp in the Mediterranean salad was inedible. Seemed like it had been frozen for 5 years before being served. But the risotto with seafood was quite delicious and spaghetti carbonara was average. Penne Arribiatta and Lasagne were also just average. Unfortunately I have to rate this as one star as it took over 20 minutes for our check after we had asked three times for it! The waiter was just walking around not doing anything important. We felt as if they were trying to keep us around longer but we had finished our food and we're sitting around waiting. The food was good, we got spaghetti with clams, spaghetti with meatballs and aperol spritz. We enjoyed the food and overall had a good time until the end. Honestly it ruined the whole restaurant for us and looking at the reviews, seems like we shouldn't have gone to the restaurant in the first place. Bad service, greedy waiters, shame. 1. The waiter clearly cared about shoving people in, over answering customers' questions. 2. We ordered two pizzas and sparkling water and they took 31 euros! I looked at the bill and noticed they charged one of the pizzas double- our waiter answered that the topping my partner added is extra 5 euros (more than the cost of the pizza). When I confronted him about it, suddenly he lost his English. Also charged twice for coperto.. 3. Pizza had tons of oil all over. Tourist Trap! We saw this menu deal advertised on the chalk board and chose it because there was "no service fee" advertised. The food was nice but in small portions which was expected for the price. When we got the bill, we were charged a cover charge of €2.5 each. On top of that, we were also charged 12% of the entire bill (including cover charge). When we asked what the extra charge was for, they claimed it was "tax" even though the regular menu stated the service charge was 12% of the bill. Disappointed as we feel like it was false advertising and we ended up spending more than expected. The minimum spend would be approximately €15.6 instead of €11.5. read more

Pretty lame dining experience here. We wanted to go to Pontini but the wait was ridiculous so we gave up, tried to find something else and we stumbled in here. Outside was full so that was a positive and they talked us into eating in the garden area. The restaurant is nice and clean. Both positive things in its favor. Unfortunately that is where the positive ends. Service was sub-par even for Europe, which as an American used to tipped service, always seems haphazard and inconsistent. Based on Europe standards this wasn't awful but they guy probably couldn't have gotten a mop job in fine dining anywhere else in the world. The bread was an early sign we might be in trouble, see photo. It was like day old white bread and packaged bread sticks. Menu had a bunch of food photos, another ominous sign. Finally, the menu was way to big to do anything well. I had planned on fish but all things considered I choose a pizza. It was fair but hardly a culinary experience. Others in the party also decided to play it safe with a seafood salad. None of the food was terrible but not great. This was not a dinner experience worth 90 euro/ $100 but that's what it cost. My advice To the owner is to take this fantastic space in a prime location and just focus. Do seafood or Italian and do it well. Stop with the 10 page menu. It's simply too much for a kitchen to do well. read more

Ask for fry's they sed they could not make them just for me. The fish was less the 30g. The music was bad, and to top it off the would not stop staring at my family while we ate. After a day of travelling throughout Venice, my family and I were looking for a place for dinner. The host sold us on the set menu in the front (for roughly 12 euros), and in we went. I immediately took note of the surroundings. There were two families with no entrees on their tables but water and bread/bread sticks (I should have taken note of this scenario). We ended up ordering from both the set and normal menu. After waiting for 45 minutes, we were still not serve nor did we get any attentions from the waiters or host. We were very patient until I noticed the 3 tables that came in and ordered their foods after us recieved their entrees (two of which ordered the same food we did). I asked the host about the delay since the waiter was too busy to attend to us. He checked on it for us, and was told that our food will be brought out in 4 minutes. After waiting for another 15 minutes and them bringing out the 2nd sets for the other tables (yup, the same ones who came in after us), we had enough. I expressed my unsatisfaction to the staffs, and was met with "we have a lot of customers and the kitchen is busy." Oh wow, so if your restaurant gets busy everybody who came in before has to wait (the two tables before us were finally served their first dish 15 minutes before this scene), and the ones who came in later get to eat? Please...anyone...explain this logic to me? We paid for our sparkling water, and left. And I will be honest with you, we are not one to make a scene but this restaurant left us no choice. Ironically, the host told us at the beginning - "oh yes, if the food do not taste good you do not have to pay." I guess we will never find out. Avoid!!!! If you look on Trip Advisor and facebook this place is permanently closed so that nobody can leave them anymore bad reviews! They have so many already! Sadly we did not check this place beforehand as we had just arrived in Venice and just stumbled across it. The service was so slow the food was adequate and we had to ask for the bill 3 times even though it was quiet. There are hidden charges and they were quite indignant when I mentioned that this is the reason they are listed as permanently closed on trip advisor and handed me their business card. Worst experience in all of Italy. There was a cover fee of 2.50€ per person and 12% service charge automatically added, which would have been fine if the service was at all okay. Our waiter was cocky and outright rude, and our requests were ignored more than once. Another waiter cleared some of our plates before others were done which is incredibly unprofessional. They offer a free Aperol spritz, but it was so watered down that they should have paid me to drink it. The four cheese gnocchi tasted like Velveeta. The servers also stand around awkwardly and stare at you while you eat, which would be fine if they actually attended to your needs. We had four people and the cover fee and service charge totaled more than any of us paid for our individual meals. If you pass this restaurant, please do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. read more

where to even begin... first of all the waiter scooped us off the street like a vulture, once barely sat opened the menu for me and tried to trick us into buying the most expensive bottle of wine when all we wanted was one glass. boasted a €6 margarita pizza, which turned out to be a crispy crunchy wafer with a hint of tomato sauce dunked in grease. i've had frozen pizza better than this. horrendous atmosphere due to the waiters and manager anxiously pacing back & forth looking for innocent tourists to snatch off the street, as if the restaurant was one day away from getting their lights turned off. got the bill only to realize we'd been bamboozled yet again - a €2.5/person charge for the table cloth?? for a place not nice enough restaurant to even warrant a tablecloth in the first place. we came in with high hopes and dreams of an authentic venetian wood fired pizza, only for them to be shattered by a lousy excuse of a pizza that not even new york city sewer rats would touch. shame. read more

Our server was scarcely available, but when he was around, he was pushy and incapable of taking an order. One of two dishes came out wrong. The dish that did arrive was mediocre and we waited with it for a half hour before the other dish came out again, wrapped to go.
