So, you can only imagine our pure joy when we discovered Birrone just a few minutes from our new home in Caldogno! They have an extensive offering (8+ beers on draught and even more in the bottle) with something for everyone. I.E. they had an IPA for my hop-head husband and every other style for me. My favorite was the wheat beer, Cibus. Described as "pane liquido" (liquid bread) on the bottle, it was one of the best beers I've had in a while! And, I'm not just saying that because it's hard to find good beer in Italy. Their Cibus could easily hold its own in the US beer scene. The tap room doubles as a restaurant with lots of tasty Italian versions of bar food. On our first visit, we ordered the Tagliere Misto XL, a cutting board that came heaped with piles of porchetta, prosciutto, speck and cheese.
