    English kitchen menu

This was one of our best meals in Italy. This place is a hidden gem in Mestre, down a little side street it doesn't jump out at you. About 15 minutes before opening the crowds begin to gather, a mix of locals and travelers in the know. We sat outside and ordered a bunch of stuff from the bar display and the kitchen. The selection is overwhelming. We started with a salt cod fritter, olive potatoes and octopus, a cooked seafood platter, artichokes and a half liter of house white. Everything was amazing! We also got an order of lasagna and pasta with anchovy, tomato and pine nuts. A perfect ending to our European adventure.

We had the privilege to eat here about 3 weeks ago. We showed up a bit early and didn't have a reservation (I recommend you make a reservation, we decided to try last minute)... and luckily they were able to seat us for a quick dinner, which was perfect for us. We had Bigoli con acciuga broccoli e pangrattato (fresh pasta with broccoli, anchovy and crunchy bread crumbs) and Linguine, mezzo astice, gransoporo e zucchine (fresh linguine, half lobster, crab and zucchini). We also had sardines in saor, it was delicious! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. We will always come back here when in Venice. Get an Aperol spritz!

Free bread, stale. Just like all the bread in Italy

YEAH. A little hidden in the dark but the bustling crowd outside with their drinks gave way to what would become a really good casual dinner. The very nice people let us in (there were around 3 tables empty and people were a mix of tourist and locals). They had an "English" menu so I guess they have adapted to the increasing tourists visiting. Still food tasted typical Italian and so casual and homey your grandma could've made it. Had the 'tapas' or ciccheti from the menu and there were good. These come fast as they were already made. Only the ones with cured meats were extremely salty but otherwise, they were nice to eat with wine. Burratina or burrata was good and as expected. Creamy inside helped balanced the salt of the olives. The risotto was okay, I wish it was made upon order. Still, we devoured it all. To end it all, the tiramisu was definitely nothing like the ones in the US. Something about the cream they use makes it taste better. Cheap meal in a very casual environment with dim lights, nice people and really cool decoration.

Great restaurant in Venice. Had ravioli with fish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Finished meal with homemade cheese cake. Ambiance is rustic and warm.

Dinning area is decorated according to its history and changes, interesting place.

It's right at the corner of our hotel, good food. Good atmosphere, a welcome local community restaurant, definitely worthy to go during staying in Venice mastre area

First meal in Italy so of course I had to get pasta. We came in around 10:30 and were seated immediately. You can bring your own drinks so we brought sparkling wine and beer. It took awhile for us to get the menu because they only have one paper menu written in English. All of the choices looked good but I opted for the Bigoli pasta. The noodles were Al Dente and thick so it was a real filling dish. The sauce was tomato based and Tate's really fresh. Definitely recommend this dish. I also got to sample the soft lasagna beef bolognes which really was soft but in a great way. All in all this was a great pic and I'm excited or more food

oh hell ya! i had quite a few meals in Venice...none of which overly wowed me....i needed my final meal here to make me squeal. i checked michelin, i checked yelp...none if it really helped... i did what i normally don't do...i spoke with the concierge (who we had established a relationship with since we had 20+ rooms booked on 4 separate occasions in the 4 weeks of this excursion. she called ahead and had a table reserved for us. She told me about this spot....and it made me squeal..and then some. We arrived to a huge group of people lingering outside (all locals)...i really wanted to hang with them and just be a part of the this local scene! apparently it was Happy Hour time and it bled into the the streets...(the establishment itself was quite cozy)....the bar area was maybe 15 x 15 we were taken to our table... there were only about 5 4 top tables in the dining section. also very cozy. the English menu was taped to the wall along side our table. it was different from the other menu selections i had seen thus far (this is a good thing)... all i need to say is that we LOVED every bit of food that we put in our mouth...we tasted each other entree's to get a feel of the menu. we started with a bottle of bubbles and had a red with our main (at the servers suggestion)..we told her what we liked and she picked the perfect bottle. she could have given us the priciest one but she selected a $16 bottle (i ended up buying a second bottle to bring home). If you are in the Mestre area of Venice (close to the Mestre train station)...this is a must try! i wish i had more meals here.

I really wanted to try classic Venetian seafood cicchetti (finger foods/tapas), so I went here because of the high ratings. It was really cool because if you want the cicchetti behind the counter you just point at what you want. Perfect for sampling Venetian seafood. All the different bites I had were delicious. The scallop and razor clams may have been somewhat light in meat, but they were still tasty. The sweet plump prawn meat was delicious. The cod was good with the olives. And I'm really glad I had the chance to try Venice's most iconic seafood dish, the sardines and onions in sweet sour sauce. Sardines aren't always the best, but the sweet sour sauce is perfect for countering the fishiness of sardines. And the onions were great. I'd get this again. Not to mention they give you a whole bag of good bread. I especially liked the cheesy bread, but the olive bread was great for eating with the fish. Overall, great place for sampling Venetian seafood. Everything I tried was really tasty, and the total bill was fairly cheap, too.

Came here after traveling all day and it hit the spot! Located in Mestre which is on the mainland of Venice it was a small restaurant but those are always the best! I got the half lobster with spaghetti with fresh zucchini and capers and you couldn't beat the price! I paid 12€ for my entree and it was so flavorful. And at the end of lunch they gave us two shots of limoncello to enjoy!

Our waitress, Maria, was awesome and the food was great! She has great wine recommendations from Verona as well.

    Coffee americano. Perfect morning.

We've jumped in to Hostaria Vite Rossa on our way from Venice to Padova. It was morning and we wanted to have a breakfast. There was not a breakfast menu but it was not a problem for a chef. He just asked what you would like for your breakfast? Omeletes? Not a problem. Perfect service and very nice place to stay. You can feel relaxed atmosohere and hear soft jazz there. Evenings there are for sure magic.

Macaroni with sausage, tomatoes, artichokes, and pesto

Great spot that our Airbnb host recommended to eat at before we were able to check in. Good service, lively and fun atmosphere, and great food - I had the macaroni with sausage, artichokes, and cherry tomatoes in a pesto sauce and would definitely recommend it, while my friend had some very good, fresh mozzarella on her caprese. The cappuccino was maybe a little burnt, or the coffee they used was not the best, so I wouldn't recommend that. But if you're looking for a solid meal rather than a cafe, this is the perfect place!

Great for a relaxing travel break, sipping prosecco and nibbling on Venetian tapas :)

The service here was super friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we were dining at a local's home! After starting with a basket of bread, we had the Spaghetti Frutti di Mare, made of spaghetti in tomato sauce, topped with mussels, clams, squid, fish, and prawns. While tasty, the tomato sauce was overwhelming in flavor and the pasta slightly overcooked. I was a much bigger fan of the Antipasto di Pesce, a plate that came with an assortment of seafood appetizers including octopus salad, two white fish spreads, a sardine topped with onions, two head-on shrimps, two mantis shrimps (canoce), a mussel and scallop baked with Parmesan and bread crumbs, and polenta topped with schie (little shrimps). We also had the Grigliata Mista di Pesce, a plate of mixed grilled seafood including a shrimp, a squid, and three different types of fish. All the seafood was fresh and delicious, though I was especially partial to the head-on shrimps and the white fish spreads!

Blues and jazz play softly in the background while our waiter goes over the menu (which by the way is loaded with delicious options) she's very sweet and speaks English very well, which made our order a bit easier, as my Italian is non così buono (not so good) We ordered the octopus carpaccio, baked clams, and the gnocchi with smoked duck breast as starters to share. We also ordered the beef bone steak with vegetables. Every single dish left us excited for the next. Not one item was over cooked, or under spiced. Perfectly cooked is all I experienced. I had the mushroom and prosciutto pizza. It was very good and better than what I had in Venice. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was modern and clean. There were no Uber's in the area so I asked the owners of the restaurant to call me a cab. The male owner did not speak English, but his wife did. They insisted on driving me back to my hotel!
