We came here for lunch during our first day in Venice! Service was prompt, we didn't have a reservation and sat inside. There were a number of vegetarian dishes as options! The food was great, ambiance was different than most places we have been throughout Italy!

The food, service, and ambiance were all wonderful! The vegetarian sampler plate was one of the best things I ate in Italy. I wish I didn't live in the other side of the planet so I could go back soon.

Assorted vegetables. No idea what's on the bottom left but it was ridiculously good

Not Italian, but probably my favorite meal during my time in Italy! The staff was kind and patient, and put together a DELICIOUS plate.

    - [ ] Found this walking back to our hotel in Venice. From what I found online, this is one of Venice's few vegetarian friendly and non-Italian restaurants. Thankfully they accommodated us hungry travelers without a reservation. We ordered the vegetarian sampler, the daily special vegetarian moussaka, and sahlab for dessert. The sampler was beautiful - so many colors and flavors. The moussaka was alright, but wish we tried something else on the menu, especially since there are so many vegetarian and vegan options! The Sahlab was very flavorful and melted in your mouth. The servers were kind and knowledgeable, much nicer service than we received elsewhere in Venice.

The hummus - completely normal with hot pita!

Intimate, delicious and a great break from pizza! It was so nice to have chicken- we had the couscous pollo and the tagine both were great. The kids ate up the souvlaki chicken skewers and had side orders of rice. The portions are not doggie bag large, if you are super hungry get an appetizer - the hummus and pita was great (another review mentioned it was weird, we did not experience that at all) and the grape leaves came with an excellent sauce. I'm so glad we got a meal here and I hope to be back again! The Lebanese wine was also a perfect pairing with the chicken! Enjoy!

Wowowow... I've been to some world-class Mediterranean/MENA/Lebanese restaurants, and this small, cozy restaurant ranks up there. The atmosphere is homey and downscale and human and romantic just like Venezia in which it sits. The woman owner painted Arabic and Egyptian scenes and Umm Kulthum lyrics on the walls during the overnights when they first opened - it's that kind of place you just want to hug. The tables are classic pizza parlor but serve as worthy platforms for simple elegant tablecloths and gorgeous china. The staff are all charming and attentive and generous with their time and knowledge. The menu is lengthy but not too much so, with an impressive assortment of starters, small plates, and main entrees. And then... the food hits the table. Piping hot kibbeh and halloumi - the best I've had. The keffe - OMG.The dolmades, which usually aren't my favorites unless prepared just so, were just so delicious. The hummus was nice and creamy, and everyone kept commenting on the stack of warm pita bread that disappeared as fast as they could refill the basket. Olives hit the mark as you'd expect, feta had a nice tangy bite. My lamb entree was tender and unlike any I've had, thin slices enveloped in a tomatoey sauce that threw me for a second, but kept me coming back for more. The monkfish and couscous special was indeed a stunner with hints of orange and saffron, and our two chicken entrees (the Moroccan dish resplendent with black olive and mint) were exquisitely flavored and addictive. We topped that off with Gelato Araby - spectacular - and a trio of ice creams including a ginger that knocked the two others flavors out of my memory), and a totally fine tiramisu that, honestly, doesn't need to be on this menu with so many authentic Italian sources just steps away. The wine list is limited but you can find drinkable bottles. The flavors throughout were subtle and sophisticated - not the sensory overload you might find passing for Medi/ME meals these days. Perhaps the Silk Road ended right at Frary's doorstep.

This place was average. The hummus was so weird, nothing like any hummus I have saved tasted. The falafels were hard, there is a cracking sound when you bite into it. The vegetarian platter was a mixed bunch, the couscous was tasteless. The cafe LatTe was okay, too small for the price. Has some vegetarian options but would not come here again.

Wonder find for vegan food in Italy. Extremely filling, fresh ingredients and helpful staff. The decor is okay, and the AC couldn't keep up with the heat wave but it's well worth the visit. The carrot and ginger dips is a must!

Excellent Middle Eastern cuisine in Venice! They have wonderful gluten free and vegan options and are very accommodating to food allergies. The food is very flavorful and they take a lot of time to explain the menu. If you want something other than Italian food, be sure to check out Frary's! We had hummus, and they even gave me gluten free crackers to enjoy it with! Excellent service. Moroccan chicken was very tasty.

Very friendly staff, cozy ambience. Their menu has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. We ordered the house wine (quite good), falafels, biryani and Jordanian rice dish - all vegetarian. We enjoyed all the dishes. The server brought us some extra spicy sauce and olive oil to amp up the spice level in our food, which was good too. The prices are a bit steep, but the good service made up for it. Also, the food tasted quite different from what is served in the mediterranean restaurants in the US , this is probably more authentic - we enjoyed our overall experience here.

We ordered the gnocchi and pappardelle pasta dishes, followed by panna cotta (highly recommend!) and cheesecake for dessert. We originally considered the bruschetta, but our thoughtful server advised us that the portions were large and filling--great advice, as dessert ended up being the perfect finishing touch. Wonderful ambiance and an excellent spot to dine. P.S. Be sure to double-check your bill; we were accidentally given the neighboring table's check. Honest mistake, but always good practice anywhere you go.

You can tell the staff really cares about making your experience special. We had the pappardelle with Italian sausage ragu and the homemade gnocchi with duck ragu -- both dishes were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. As a lovely surprise, we were served a complimentary lemon sorbet at the end of our meal, which was the perfect refreshing finish. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic food and genuine hospitality in Venice!
