It's historical place in Venice! Kosher / Italian place As a tourist visiting Venice after Rome, I was looking forward to a different style cuisine with spices and flavors and Mediterranean food was perfect for my liking! Me and my family did a lot of tours and on the last stop , someone recommended to visit this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Food , service it was amazing and how people who work there truly care about visitors! We got lucky and even got some music going as well!

House wine- highly recommend! Buying a bottle to take home. The fried artichoke is absolutely amazing as is the chocolate mousse. We ordered the Gam Gam house special for an appetizer, a taste of Israel, it was so so good! Highly recommend that too. Main dish tagliatelle with meat sauce was good. Server was very helpful and kind.

This was our best meal in Italy. Get a reservation! We walked in and the man said we take reservations only (dinner time). As we started to walk out he said come back in 15 minutes, and I'm glad we did. We started with latkes and applesauce, it was delicious. The applesauce is made from scratch and the latkes are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I only wish there were more than two in an order. For dinner we got schnitzel and tagliatelle with meat sauce. Amazing! Amazing that a kosher restaurant had the best pasta we've had in Italy. The schnitzel was perfect, boneless chicken with a nice, not oily, fried breading. We also ordered a side of grilled vegetables and they were so good.

Gam Gam is a solid Jewish restaurant in Venice. the menu is vast so you have many things to pick from. service could certainly improve, it was hectic and confusing at times. the appetizer sample comes with a lot of small dishes to give yourself a taste of what's available. it was interesting. the hummus and baba ganoush were prepared in a way i haven't tasted them before. I can't say i prefer gam gam's version but, they weren't bad. eggplant ghetto style - it was just ok. pieces of eggplant cut up in different styles - it's actually a cold dish. the sea bass (17€) is a must try if you love fish. it was so damn good. it was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the actual fish stood out well. highly recommended. Fallafels were really really good, taste so fresh as well. overall, Gam Gam has good food and is worth checking out.

    All of our amazing appetizers!

My meal at Gam gam was one of the most memorable meals of my time in Italy. The service my friends and I received was impeccable, truly one of the nicest I've received anywhere. This was some of the best Israeli food i've ever had! The server recommended that we try every appetizer, so we just followed his lead...and boy am I glad we did! We had hummus, pita bread, fried artichokes, babagounsh, cous cous, marinated vegetables, and latkaes with apple sauce, and everything was amazing! I salmon for my entree and it was out of this world. A very memorable evening and meal! The server even invited us back for dinner the next night, but we were leaving Venice before then. Shame!

I know it may seem like an odd choice to go for Kosher when you're in Venice, but this is no ordinary Kosher food. All their dishes are influenced by the rich Jewish history of living among Italians for hundreds of years. You definitely won't find this kind of food anywhere else, not even in New York. Every dish blew my mind (except the gefilte fish, which is just not my thing and I'm yet to try one that I like). Ordered the Assaggi Israeliani, a mixed appetizer consisting of many tiny dishes of various marinated veggies, hummus, homemade hot sauce, and stuff like that. Also got the beef & eggplant moussaka and the beef kebab. The meat on the kebab was slightly on the drier side, but the seasonings more than made up for it. The moussaka was insanely delicious and flavorful. I would come back here just for the goulash!

Some of the selections of the #GamGam Israeli appetizer plus a fried artichoke with "techina" "non hai assaggiato mai un carciofo migliore."

What a great stop after learning a bit if the history of the Jewish diaspora at the Museo Ebraico in Venice's Jewish Ghetto. An international, friendly staff is welcoming and informative. It is conveniently located on the Cannareggio Canal. The Israeli appetizers are sweet (carrots, raisins), tart (tomatoes), savory (ethereal falafel), and nuclear (harissa). As a person who makes matzoh ball soup, it's not like my home made, but good for the tourists. The pumpkin soup, however, is righteous: toothsome, sweet and savory at the same time. To sum up: if you are nearby, don't miss either the Museo Ebraica or the nearby restaurant, Gam Gam.

We had just arrived in Venice at Night and a lady with her two kids was very kind in helping us get to our hotel! During our 15 min walk we asked for restaurants suggestions in Venice and she mentioned she owned this restaurant...GAM GAM! We had to try it. We went there for lunch and the place was packed! But we still managed to get a table for 2. Service was great and fast, good price, and very good food. They have a mix of italian and Jewish food. Make sure you make a reservation.

Gam Gam appetizer special. A must have to start.

Spent quite a bit of time in Israel and I'm Italian. This has been by far the best meal we have had yet in Venice. Highly recommend no matter what type of food you are looking for. You don't have to be Jewish to LOVE this place!

    Pasticcio gam gam. Must try!

Food was really good here. Batter fried artichoke was a standout. Need a reservation, but I'd definitely go back next time in Venice.

For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!

Servers were welcoming and answered questions my friend and I had about the menu. The steak platter was AMAZING. 10/10. Truly such a memorable meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Definitely get the Lombatello steak if you are feeling carnivorous…read more Throngs of lively people sipping wine and snacking on cichetti late into the evening along the canal. The cichetti selection looked very good (variety thinned out throughout the night), but our party of 3 was starving and we opted to sit inside for a late ~8:30pm dinner. We got one order of grilled lamb and the Lombatello steak for 2. The lamb was also good, no gamey taste. The Lombatello steak was simply fantastic, choose this cut specifically!! A heaping pile of medium-rare meat (cannot buy single portions) that was very tender and flavorful. It's cushioned with steak fries and grilled veggies on the side. Paired with two glasses of house wine, this meal was fantastic. Ended up with a to go box of steak and fries. Servers are very busy, bustling around clearing tables, taking orders, etc, but they are vigilant if you need anything. We saw one table of ~10 order a steak platter, and it was a sight to behold - a massive wooden cutting board packed with steak, transported by two waiters.
