Ok. This place has earned its name! Well worth the wait. The food was amazing and the cooks and servers were working their tails off to serve everyone and a line of people were waiting to get a seat

Bumped into this restaurant by chance and was impressed by the wide selection and quality of food available! We only had to wait for a few minutes for our table to be set up by the water side. Service was truly excellent--the waitresses helped us navigate through the menu and answer our questions. Ambiance was very relaxing as we were seated by the water side at sunset (~8pm). It was a quiet place tucked away from the main part of Venice, and when it got dark we got a little lamp for our table. We also enjoyed a little breeze! We started with the house sparkling white wine 50 cl, which was enough for 3 people, and a bottle of sparkling water. We also received bread and crostini as a complimentary starter. Our seafood lovers enjoyed the bigoli with seafood sauce, bigoli with squid ink, and mixed fried (which had vegetables and seafood like calamari and shrimp). The pasta was made from scratch. The bufala pizza had a nice thin crust. Even with this much food, we had to go for some dessert--panna cotta caramel and tiramisu. Both were a great way to end a meal--I particularly liked the panna cotta's smooth consistency and cold sweetness. Would come back for a relaxing and quiet dinner.

I've been in Italy for a little over a week and this was the BEST PIZZA I've had. The crust is so light and tender! Great flavor, very enjoyable.

Very kind servers and just good food! Had a pizza and Tiramisu. Real simple and good, very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Seafood dish, don't recall the name.

Our last night in Venice and we found the perfect spot. We had a great view of the canal, and they had large umbrellas for shade. Our server didn't speak much English but she was SO nice and helpful. She explained everything and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food was bravissimo! We started with their bruschetta, delicious! I had their rolled pizza, it was like a calzone, yum!! My son had gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce and he gave it a 10,000 thumbs up. My Dad had a seafood dish and said it was great. The last dish was gnocchi pomodora and everything tasted so fresh and homemade. What a way to spend our last night.

Off the beaten path and worth the walk here. About a 25 minute walk from St. Mark's. A lovely restaurant with great homemade food and seating outdoors on a quiet canal. The service was friendly and efficient. Nice to find a place outside of the crazy tourist areas. Don't miss this wonderful restaurant in Venice.

We came here because it sounded like Ron Swanson's Venetian cousin named this place. We stayed because of the quality/selection of the authentic Italian food, the seating right on the beautiful canal, and the very friendly service. The bathroom is also pristine (that might be the cleanest bathroom we've seen in Italy so far!). Definitely try the gnocchi while you're here, I got the Bolognese sauce on it and it was the best I think I've had. Their "very good" salad is also excellent if you're feeling something fresh. Just a tip, ignore the weird articles on the newspaper-themed silverware holders. All in all, if you want a place that lives up to its name, this is your spot!

AMAZING FOOD!! Delicious memories with every bite. Incredibly memorable and romantic restaurant on the canals. We started with the mixed fired calamari, some of the best I've ever had, salty and perfectly crispy. Their fish and pasta were fresh, and the homemade tiramisu is an absolute must try. Kind and friendly staff, highly recommend to anyone in Venice.

Super fresh & delicious bufala pizza

I think this place was great and if i didn't go on my last day there I probably would have eaten there a few times. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and yummy yummy. I watched them churn out pies for pickup. They definitely had regulars ordering takeout. It was one of the best pizza and lasagna I've eaten. Ever.

Very good is actually very amazing! The name is so simple and it doesn't give it enough credit to their incredible food. We were in Venice 2 days and decided to eat here twice because it was so tasty and prices were just right. We are at other highly reviewed locations which lacked in service and quality but packed on the price. We were so impressed that we had to eat it again because we couldn't believe how fresh the food was. Service was excellent, no service charge, they speak English and were kind enough to deal with our bad Italian. We had gnocchis which were so soft and fresh, most places have it hard as rocks or runner. That's how you know it's fresh. Pizza was creative crispy and delicious! Best fresh mozzarella we've ever had. Wish I could eat there 365 days a year! So impressed with our experience. Please DO NOT miss the opportunity to eat here! You will NOT regret it!!

The small hidden takeaway place is absolutely amazing. If you are in the area, it is inexpensive and 100000% authentic!!! Definitely better than several of the restaurants we tried in Venezia

Initially I was quite surprised by the high quality of the Venice bar scene in general, but now…read morethat I'm living here I've grown accustomed to the quality and have adjusted my expectations upwards. Despite this, I was very favorabley impressed when I first visited Osteria ai Pugni; it's unquestionably among my top three favorite bars in "The City of Water". On my first visit, a friend and I stopped in here for a pre-dinner cocktail. We planned to find a restaurant to eat dinner in afterwards, but we found the drinks, service, and the ambiance here so much that we ended up staying the right of the evening. We enjoyed quite a bit of their exceptionally good wine, skipped dinner and made a meal out of the amazing cicchetti. Yes, the food is wonderful and the wine list truly outstanding, but it's the exceptional service that brings everything together. It's what made our first visit so memorable. Every single member of the staff we interacted with was amazingly attentive and very friendly. They all seemed to want to go the extra mile to make our experience here exceptional. All their cicchetti recommendations were spot on, and they even let us try samples of the wines they recommended to pair with our food. Tip: All the cicchetti we tried was first-rate, especially the polenta based dishes. We found them to be a delightful alternative to the more common bread-based cicchetti. Bottom line: The hospitality here is 2nd to none, the service is exceptional, and the wine list has something for everyone. Add to that how reasonable the prices are, and it's a foregone conclusion that I plan to become a regular. Highly recommended!

Nice little place for a drink and a snack. We had a small…read morebeer and ordered 4 of there appetizers (there's an Italian name for them that escapes me as I write). Think of Spanish tapas style. We had a little squid ink bun stuffed with salmon, very very good. Then another with prosciutto. Then two small sandwiches with prosciutto and another type of ham. Everything was good and fine nothing mind blowing where I needed to go back again. Service was also fine although the personalities of the 3 girls working were awful. They made me feel as if I was bothering them by being there. Honestly if the food was that amazing, I'd go back and deal with it the shitty attitudes, but there are many other places to get food as good or better without the crappy attitudes.
