Ok. This place has earned its name! Well worth the wait. The food was amazing and the cooks and servers were working their tails off to serve everyone and a line of people were waiting to get a seat

Bumped into this restaurant by chance and was impressed by the wide selection and quality of food available! We only had to wait for a few minutes for our table to be set up by the water side. Service was truly excellent--the waitresses helped us navigate through the menu and answer our questions. Ambiance was very relaxing as we were seated by the water side at sunset (~8pm). It was a quiet place tucked away from the main part of Venice, and when it got dark we got a little lamp for our table. We also enjoyed a little breeze! We started with the house sparkling white wine 50 cl, which was enough for 3 people, and a bottle of sparkling water. We also received bread and crostini as a complimentary starter. Our seafood lovers enjoyed the bigoli with seafood sauce, bigoli with squid ink, and mixed fried (which had vegetables and seafood like calamari and shrimp). The pasta was made from scratch. The bufala pizza had a nice thin crust. Even with this much food, we had to go for some dessert--panna cotta caramel and tiramisu. Both were a great way to end a meal--I particularly liked the panna cotta's smooth consistency and cold sweetness. Would come back for a relaxing and quiet dinner.

I've been in Italy for a little over a week and this was the BEST PIZZA I've had. The crust is so light and tender! Great flavor, very enjoyable.

Very kind servers and just good food! Had a pizza and Tiramisu. Real simple and good, very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again.

Seafood dish, don't recall the name.

Our last night in Venice and we found the perfect spot. We had a great view of the canal, and they had large umbrellas for shade. Our server didn't speak much English but she was SO nice and helpful. She explained everything and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food was bravissimo! We started with their bruschetta, delicious! I had their rolled pizza, it was like a calzone, yum!! My son had gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce and he gave it a 10,000 thumbs up. My Dad had a seafood dish and said it was great. The last dish was gnocchi pomodora and everything tasted so fresh and homemade. What a way to spend our last night.

Off the beaten path and worth the walk here. About a 25 minute walk from St. Mark's. A lovely restaurant with great homemade food and seating outdoors on a quiet canal. The service was friendly and efficient. Nice to find a place outside of the crazy tourist areas. Don't miss this wonderful restaurant in Venice.

We came here because it sounded like Ron Swanson's Venetian cousin named this place. We stayed because of the quality/selection of the authentic Italian food, the seating right on the beautiful canal, and the very friendly service. The bathroom is also pristine (that might be the cleanest bathroom we've seen in Italy so far!). Definitely try the gnocchi while you're here, I got the Bolognese sauce on it and it was the best I think I've had. Their "very good" salad is also excellent if you're feeling something fresh. Just a tip, ignore the weird articles on the newspaper-themed silverware holders. All in all, if you want a place that lives up to its name, this is your spot!

AMAZING FOOD!! Delicious memories with every bite. Incredibly memorable and romantic restaurant on the canals. We started with the mixed fired calamari, some of the best I've ever had, salty and perfectly crispy. Their fish and pasta were fresh, and the homemade tiramisu is an absolute must try. Kind and friendly staff, highly recommend to anyone in Venice.

Super fresh & delicious bufala pizza

I think this place was great and if i didn't go on my last day there I probably would have eaten there a few times. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and yummy yummy. I watched them churn out pies for pickup. They definitely had regulars ordering takeout. It was one of the best pizza and lasagna I've eaten. Ever.

Very good is actually very amazing! The name is so simple and it doesn't give it enough credit to their incredible food. We were in Venice 2 days and decided to eat here twice because it was so tasty and prices were just right. We are at other highly reviewed locations which lacked in service and quality but packed on the price. We were so impressed that we had to eat it again because we couldn't believe how fresh the food was. Service was excellent, no service charge, they speak English and were kind enough to deal with our bad Italian. We had gnocchis which were so soft and fresh, most places have it hard as rocks or runner. That's how you know it's fresh. Pizza was creative crispy and delicious! Best fresh mozzarella we've ever had. Wish I could eat there 365 days a year! So impressed with our experience. Please DO NOT miss the opportunity to eat here! You will NOT regret it!!

The small hidden takeaway place is absolutely amazing. If you are in the area, it is inexpensive and 100000% authentic!!! Definitely better than several of the restaurants we tried in Venezia

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.

The waiter is very friendly and invite us to have lunch, and menu price look reasonable so let's go for it. We ordered clam and mussels. So amazing and yummy, especially the soup! For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!
