This was an excellent cicchetti place! They had loads of wine for €2, what a deal! We shared several appetizers, perfect snack before dinner! Awesome stop, gets pretty busy but I'd definitely recommend it!

Rodger and Daniella are the best part of Venice. We stumbled into their restaurant by accident and it was the happiest accident of my life. They are kind, warm, and funny! I felt like I was in their home the entire time and to add to atmosphere there was a man playing a small piano open to anyone and the whole place was singing. This is was the highlight of Venice. The food is exquisite and the drinks are amazing. All prices are very reasonable and everything is made fresh. It doesn't get better than this!

Roger and Danielle are the real deal. Fresh, delicious, quality dishes! This was the first place we ate upon arrive to Italy. Absolutely incredible. You can't go to Venice without stopping at this local secret spot!

The food is good here - but it was the owner who made the visit worthwhile. He was gracious and very funny.

The pizza here is the highlight, and indeed, it was pretty excellent, though I would say in general, we had nothing but excellent pizza while anywhere in Italy. The pasta we had was... just ok, and the very large salad we all split was really good. The best part of this place, and dining in Venice generally, is taking in all the sights and sounds while eating streetside. It's such a unique place to be, and without the sound of cars everywhere, still give you a little bit of that old world feel... speaking of Venice of course, because other than this being in an old building, everything inside Rossopomodoro was pretty modern. Sorry I don't have much more to say about the food at this place. We had a lot of memorable meals while in Italy, and this one just didn't stick out like the others, though it was perfectly fine.

The tell of how good Rossopomodora was immediately apparent when I got a text message saying my…read morecard was charged to McDonalds....yep...owned by the same folks that own the Mickey D's down the block. Really Mediocre luke warm food that was really meh. The Arancini was almost cold. Pizza was greasy and cold. Okay the Bombolina was not cold....but that's a donut...da. It was probably the best thing. Walk farther and avoid this place...there are too many places that serve better food.

The pumpkin flan was a true experience of sweet and savoriness. I couldn't stop eating the ratatouille; it was such a delicious treat. I was able to have a conversation with the chef after our meal, and she encouraged my excitement to experiment and try my hand at some of these dishes at home. I wish I lived in Venice, so I could have La Zucca regularly. They only had one reservation spot for the days we were in Venice, so I definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time.

The seating made it completely worth it, though--we were seated right by the canal water and had a gorgeous view throughout our meal! The servers were very pleasant, though navigating the menu takes a little extra effort. The menu is in Italian and changes regularly. While they do provide a translation menu, I ended up using my phone to translate most of it myself. For dietary restrictions, they do mark allergy items, though there aren't very many gluten-free options available. To drink, I ordered an Aperol Spritz. For food, I had the carrot soup and a plate of two sides: ratatouille and zucchini. The soup and the zucchini were both delicious! One of my friends ordered the linguine, but unfortunately found it to be overly salty. Overall, it's a lovely spot for a scenic lunch by the water, especially if you enjoy a lively atmosphere and don't mind navigating a changing Italian menu.
