Ironically, one of the best dining experiences we had in Italy, was not an Italian restaurant. "Restaurantito da Issa" was a little gem we ran into almost by accident. Unaware of the fact that we must call ahead to make reservations, we showed up at the front step. After a giving us somewhat of a hard time for not calling and our sincerest apologies, the owner, Issa, has refused to let us go away hungry and showed us in. Turns out that we arrived right after a huge wedding party and more apologies from our side, Issa served us some wine and drinks and disappeared into the kitchen to begin preparations. I won't go into too the details of each dish (not to ruin the surprise for you ;) ) but we were presented with course after course of Jordanian delicacies including various mezze (small plates such as baba ghanoush) and several main dishes. Issa's friendly personality put our experience over the top and we left extremely happy and extremely full! read more
