Locals type of spot in Venice with tasty and affordable drinks, I saw people having food too but didn't try it. We had a snakebite which consists of angry orchard and Guinness beer at home but here it was a type of grenadine, Peroni and an Irish beer. Super delicious. I liked having this place near to my hotel. There wasn't much else nearby for a nightcap - so I appreciated it! The same bartender was there every day, nice dude. The beers I tried were delicious! The Chouffe was my fave, it was a tripel in a bottle. Yum. First time trying it and it became my "go to". I'd recommend NOT putting your umbrella in the holder by the entry way. Some A-Hole took mine! It was brand new and like $30. Somebody got some bad umbrella karma coming to them... we think it was a young couple sucking each other's faces off that the bar. Anywho, the place is very small inside but we always managed to come at a time to get a couple spots. Bigger groups would have some trouble finding seats, probably. After almost 20 hours of hectic traveling, we finally had time to eat. The Irish Pub was open late and I'm so glad they had these delicious toasted sandwiches on display. We ate a variety of three and they we all excellent, but my favorite was the beef with red salad cream. Wish I had a Guinness, but I was already ill with a headache. Will definitely visit again before we leave Venice. read more

Every now and then, I get a hankering to visit an Irish Pub. It doesn't seem to matter where in the world I am - whenever it's happened to date, there's always a Irish Pub close at hand, and Venice was no exception ;-) The Irish Pub (as it's called) is a very cool place to chill and get your brew on. Everyone is really friendly here, and the atmosphere is so Irish you'll swear you're in Dublin, rather than Italy. If you're thirsty (and who goes to an Irish Pub when they're not?) there are a plethora of spirits and draft beers to be had to whet your whistle and quench your thirst. If you're hungry, they've got some truly delicious sandwiches available. Over and above the food and drink, the rest rooms are about as clean as you'll find In a bar, and the AC is top-notch, which is just the thing to keep those hot summer days from getting you down. OK, you will say, there are plenty of places in Venice. We were looking for somewhere lively where we, oldies, would fit in. We found it. I did not eat here but I was not impressed by the costumer service and the friendliness of the staff. I wanted to seat and have coffee and a drink but when we informed the waitress practically kicked us out as if we were asking for free food. As I came to understand is not accustomed for people to just seat at restaurants and have coffee but there was no need to be rude. read more

Nice pub in the middle of Venice. No cigarette smoke so that was a huge plus. The drinks were reasonably priced and we only ate a couple of bags of potato chips. The pub didn't have much of an Irish feel but I would return again if I was looking for a decent bar in Venice. read more

This is a fun spot to hang out that's right in the square and steps away from my hotel. I think this is where all the tourists go, but not in an obnoxious way. The drinks are cheap and I really enjoyed the music which was a mix of 80's New Wave. Everyone here was really chill and you can have a conversation without having to yell. The crowd was a mix of ages, from young college kids to senior citizens. Fun times! read more

Don't even bother unless you REALLY need a pint.. while the old dark furniture reminds me of home, the place was empty and I was the only customer. Granted they had just opened, but I had to endure two female employees gabbering on for an hour while I sat and tried to enjoy my pint.. they just never stopped yakking. Located centrally this Irish Bar offers a typical experience that would be expected-Irish theme, food and beers and entertainment. Visited here to watch the football and can recommend this for those that want somewhere to have a few beers while watching the football. Literally the worst draft beer in any bar (I've been to a lot) I have been in. What they lacked in clean beer lines, they made up for with terrible service. I live in Europe, I am used to slow European service. This was ridiculously slow and when the owner finally came around he had the personality of a hemmroid infested anus. We stayed around the corner from this place and it was always packed. They must be doing something right. Nice outdoor seating in an easy to find square on the main drag. read more
