Not wanting to make a scene I just wanted to alert the server to this and ask for a new plate but the reaction was so out-proportionally absurd it was unbelievable. She immediately very rudely and loudly claimed it was my own hair. It was so insulting and absurd bring used to polite service and decency. My family ended up leaving with all the food on our plates intact (because they took it all away). I do not recommend especially when travelling with kids and looking for a nice relaxed vacation.

I got here before they opened at 09:30 and the place filled up before 10. It's a small eatery. I felt claustrophobic. How to order: wait in the line in the middle, get someone's attention at the bar/counter, and pay first. They'll get your order ready while you wait to the side. Most people take the food out but have drinks inside. I had an espresso - yep, no alcohol like the other customers. Honestly, there were people enjoying drinks for breakfast. I also ordered a bunch of their tramezzini (sandwich) to try. My favorite was the manzo peperonata senape (beef with peppers)! I also liked the tuna. I loved their bread. I would come back next time I'm in Venezia!

The owner who often is standing outside gave us his card and said if we come back later for dinner they'd make sure to find us a spot and they kept their word! As soon as we showed up they made sure to get us a table and everyone was friendly and attentive. The bruschetta was delicious and so was our dinner and dessert. The restaurant was elegantly decorated but was also a perfect environment for families. We will definitely be going back again, e Grazie mille Pietro per la tua ospitalità!

Times have changed…read more We came to this restaurant a few times in the past 2-3 years. Despite other negative feedback we ended up always happy with both the food and the staff. We mostly come in fall...maybe better than in the high season. So naturally we came back for dinner here this fall. But boy, did we get disappointed this time. Staff was fine though, but they didn't seem too happy. Of course 2020 has taken its toll or/and they knew that their standard has dropped. One could see by the looks of the main dishes that this wasn't prepared by the same cook as the other times we came. And the lack of any flavour just confirmed it. The starter - fried seafood - was a big let-down already. Soggy and bland. It's hard to mess up a fried dish, but they surely did. Lobster pasta and Spaghetti Vongole for the main. Bland sauce, cheap-quality vongole and just no flavours at all. Where's the seafood broth where the pasta should've been cooked in? And then every Italian's nightmare: the pasta was overcooked. And if you overcook pasta in Italy you have clearly lost. I don't know who's in the kitchen, but every real Italian wouldn't...well COULDN'T mess pasta up that badly. The wine was ok, a bit pricey, but that wasn't news. Too bad, we really liked this restaurant before. But this was definitely the last visit here.

My husband says their IPAs are some of the best he's ever had and I'm a big fan of their lagers, stouts, and sours. They have collaborated with some great Stateside breweries like Other Half and Cigar City. So, those are especially fun beers to try. We love their outdoor beer garden (there is some indoor seating as well) -- lots of seating, dog friendly, foosball table. The atmosphere reminds me a lot of Austin, TX breweries. Parking is easy and plentiful. Not always the case in Italy! They also have a small food counter that serves delicious "brico," bread topped with all sorts of local ingredients such as squash blossoms, 'nduja, sausage, salami, peppers, and more! Be sure to check out their offerings when you visit and order one or two. They are not to be missed!

Best of all: the prices were inexpensive. Our bill was under 13 euros. My husband and I visited here inbetween the lunch and dinner hour so most of the staff was in the kitchen and the dining room was deserted. Our waitress seemed annoyed with us when we asked if they were open and seemed reluctant to give us menus. The outdoor seating area was unoccupied except for one person who was smoking so perhaps they would have preferred for us to eat outside? Despite the unfriendly service, the pizza and espresso were good and the restaurant offers free wi-fi so we were able to check our email.

(You would've thought USA vs Italy would've attracted more local attention.) SL was a tiny place, but thankfully mostly empty; we plopped ourselves down and ordered some cold beers (pilsner for me, it being a hot afternoon). They had a decent beer list here - several standard styles from the British isles. I noted they also had some locally made brews (I didn't try them) plus Guinness (a necessity for such a place). The vibe wasn't very Irish beyond the decor and dark interior. The bartender was playing some euro pop on the sound system. Snacks were offered - mostly bread rolls, small sandwiches, and cuts off some oblong pizzas. We sampled a few of the latter to go with our beers. (They were OK.) As for the volleyball, the USA got spanked. Thankfully no celebration from the other side; most of the other patrons were either Americans or Brits. And the Italian bartender didn't seem to care. It's not clear why so many previous patrons have awarded a full 5 stars for SL. (Vacation glee?) For us it met a basic need but was priced high for tourists. I'll give them three stars, plus one extra for offering the game.
