Locals type of spot in Venice with tasty and affordable drinks, I saw people having food too but…read moredidn't try it. We had a snakebite which consists of angry orchard and Guinness beer at home but here it was a type of grenadine, Peroni and an Irish beer. Super delicious. The staff spoke English and were very friendly.

Another little Irish bar, this time in Venice. we were here a couple of years ago for a Munster…read morematch with Treviso. Had a great time and drank nearly every bar dry which is not that surprizing when you think that there was 5000 of us but the bar I like the most was the Fiddlers elbow just off the main canal. It's worth the visit and the pints not to bad either.

Pub Santa Lucia was the only place we could find to watch the women's olympic volleyball final…read morematch in Venice that was within a 10 min walk from our hotel. (You would've thought USA vs Italy would've attracted more local attention.) SL was a tiny place, but thankfully mostly empty; we plopped ourselves down and ordered some cold beers (pilsner for me, it being a hot afternoon). They had a decent beer list here - several standard styles from the British isles. I noted they also had some locally made brews (I didn't try them) plus Guinness (a necessity for such a place). The vibe wasn't very Irish beyond the decor and dark interior. The bartender was playing some euro pop on the sound system. Snacks were offered - mostly bread rolls, small sandwiches, and cuts off some oblong pizzas. We sampled a few of the latter to go with our beers. (They were OK.) As for the volleyball, the USA got spanked. Thankfully no celebration from the other side; most of the other patrons were either Americans or Brits. And the Italian bartender didn't seem to care. It's not clear why so many previous patrons have awarded a full 5 stars for SL. (Vacation glee?) For us it met a basic need but was priced high for tourists. I'll give them three stars, plus one extra for offering the game.

Popped in for some late night drinks on our last night in town. Right by our hotel, so this was an…read moreeasy walk. The bar is intimate with a great home (U.S.) feel. Played nothing but American music while we were here. Mostly 90s grunge and classic rock. Right up my alley! They have a full bar and can make pretty much anything you want. The taps are flowing with authentic Italian beers! Overall, I had fun and would recommend it.

Cool little pub lost down some windy alley in the canal-filled maze that is Venice. They're open…read moreuntil 1:30 which makes them popular, as most places close around 11 or 12. Good variety of beers, ciders and mixed drinks and all are decently priced. The crowd is a mixed bag of tourists, college students and some locals but the vibe is relaxed and although it can get loud and a little tight inside, it's a good time.

It was the best espresso martini we've ever had, I'm still dreaming about it now!! Such a fun place, it's welcoming for meeting people and watch football or American football, would have loved to watch a game here!! Everyone was having a great time watching soccer on the tvs!
