!Warning! You maybe overcharged for dinner prices when you order for lunch. It's kind of disappointing because we were happy with the food, but we ended up with surprises in our bill. Specifically we ordered the fajitas which were listed for $13.90 for lunch and when the bill came they changed us $25. We asked if this was correct and they said that we don't do the lunch fajitas on Saturday and also there is a extra $5 for mixing beef and ship. None of this was mentioned to us when we placed the order. We thought we missed this in the menu so we paid, left a good tip and when our way. As I'm writing this review, I double checked the menu photos and there is no note about lunch prices not being valid on the weekend (you can even place an order online for the lunch price). I'm fine if the price is $25 just make it clear in the menu so that there aren't surprises when the bill comes. Another issue is that the toilet in the mens room has no door. Other than that, the food was good overall, papa loca could have a bit more meat in my opinion. Service was good outside of the pricing issue, the atmosphere was pretty relaxed. read more

This location is a must skip for dinner. We had 4 different meals and only one was edible. The sides, rice and beans were solid. Drinks great, app we got was definitely off, hot cheese and cold meat. There is so much potential for this place, but it's just average at present. It is literally the only restaurant in town besides the Bear's Den and the only "bar." The quality was better when it first opened and now it feels like they are just getting by. The staff are very nice, but there are usually only a couple working so they are bartending, bussing, and probably cooking. As others have mentioned, since the initial makeover of new floors, they haven't done much. The food is hit or miss and on the expensive side. We go periodically because, again, only place in town but choose more often to go to Olympia or Elma. read more

Terrible food. Was told it was an authentic mexican food steakhouse. For the price, what you got , I will never go back. Authentic mean no prepacked taco shells, no prepackaged tostada shells. The cheapest thing you can serve is rice and beans, hardly any on the plate. We went here for dinner the other night, it's been a while since we have but it was close so we thought we'd give it another shot. 1st off I ordered the portobello with carne asada. What I got was sliced button mushrooms and very little meat. Very disappointing. The worst part was my husband ordered 2 fresh margaritas which ending up costing $44! I got the al pastor tacos, expecting to get steak, and what I got was delicious pork grilled with pineapple. I ate all three of my tacos, which I normally do not, but didn't even want to share a bite of one with my husband. He got the chicken burrito/taco combo and ate every bit of it. First time here and Food was very subpar. Ordered a beef burrito and shredded chicken burrito. Chicken was cold, beef was ok. The green sauce was very runny and sour not sure what it even was and waitress didn't even know or why it was so sour. They didn't have chips and salsa which is a staple with mexican food. No heat so very cold inside, they had one small portable infrared heater in the bar area going none in the main restaurant. There was no hot water in the restroom. Was really hoping it was going to be someplace new to visit on the harbor but not really even sure how they are still in business. Ok Brand New Mexican Restaurant in McCleary. It was 4th Day after opening and the place is Packed! Awesome Food we all ordered different diners and we all Loved our Meals. Posted 3 photos of huge diner plates. They will have live music playing later. We will be coming back! Second trip to the restaurant same great food service was great too. This is the second time me and my wife have came here and not only is it consistent but the food is amazing as well. The masa in the tamales is so moist and the pork is well seasoned. My wife's tostada was incredible. The tostada shell was clearly home made and the meat was delicious. There was so much fresh veggies on it as well. The rice and beans were on point too! We have driven by this place numerous times since it opened recently and always wanted to try it. Tonight we grabbed an order to go and it was so good! If you are looking for an Americanized Mexican restaurant where the food is bland and comes out oddly too fast, this place is not for you. We stopped in for late lunch/early dinner and the place was nearly empty but the staff was busy. The place had only been open less than a week and they were working on improvements in the bar area. Our waitress, Luce, was awesome and took great care of us. The chips and salsa was good, fairly standard except for a style of pico that was are of onions, mushrooms, cilantro and lime which was on the savory side and very good. Our son ordered French fries, the husband had the Carne Asada Y Mas with enchilada and I had the Carne Asada Y Mas with a taco. The enchilada and taco were good, nothing to crave but the carne asada was a different story! The meat was extremely tender and marinated and cooked to perfection. It was a complemented by home style refried beans and rice. We were a bit disappointed that the carne asada didn't come with tortillas as it does in most places but it's easily ordered as a side. We decided to end the meal with a sweet treat and ordered their deep fried ice cream to share as it definitely did not disappoint. This place is now my favorite Mexican restaurant by far. Different items on the menu than other Mexican restaurants, like stuffed portobello mushrooms or seared cactus. All delicious! The night we went to Al Carbon was their first "dance" night in over a year. So the restaurant was completely full. The wait staff managed to put together several tables and fit us in. We enjoyed the live music and watching the dancers. The food took a while to arrive from the kitchen , but that was understandable due to the completely full restaurant. The only complaint we have is my wife's fajitas were only warm not sizzling. Again, we can chalk that of to a full house. We enjoyed ourselves, which is the whole purpose for going out. read more

Awful service, i don't like bringing local restaurants down but I don't want anyone else to waste their time or money on this place. First it took over an hour and a half to get food after ordering, and then they got an order wrong which was calmly pointed out by a member of my table. The waitress proceeded to argue and say that the order was correct, the other people in our group told the waitress that our other group member had in fact ordered something else and she proceeded to say we were all wrong. The other waitress then offered to exchange the plate, after waiting an hour and a half our group didn't want to wait longer for a new plate and asked for it to just be taken off the bill. They refused and argued again asking why they would do that. Overall there are definitely better places to go. This restaurant used to have great service, I hate that there customer service have gone down hill. read more
