The gnocchi was the BEST I've ever eaten - and I've eaten a lot of gnocchi! Pizza was delicious too. Owner can correct me if I'm wrong. :-) -------------- Longer version: -------------- Stopped by for a quiet meal and sat outside. Was greeted, immediately seated, and provided a cover of focaccia and a flat bread of only 1-2mm thick with a tomato/basil consistency. Delightful. Waiter smiled at my attempt at Italian and helped me through the evening with both Italian and English switching. I'm a barbarian and appreciated their patience. Ordered (1) "Sardines in Saor" for my antipasti/appetizer and their take on (2) Duck cutlets for the primi/main course. ***Dessert is unpublished online, but they have Tiramisu, a cheesecake, biscotti con crema, and a (3) chocolate mousse with Limoncello crema on top (I had this). They also have a solid selection of coffees and dessert drinks. (1) If you're adventurous and like a hint of sweet and sour, definitely go for the Sardines in Saor. If you're typically not a big sardine fan, know that they aren't nearly as briney or fishy as they are in oil or salted. Because they were fried in a light flour batter and wrapped up with pine nuts & raisins within a sautéed onion (and refrigerated overnight) it was more mellow and sweet with that slight hint of sardine. Imagine a taste similar to a fried oyster with onion + fig jam. It's served chilled and it's good. Do it. (2) They adjusted the duck's ingredients to go with a creamy cheese/watermelon accompaniment instead of the menu's coffee puree. The sweet & savory combo was perfect for a summer night. It was unique and very good. (3) The milk chocolate mousse with limoncello cream was a nice dish. Small, ideal portion that gives you a taste of the sweet decadence without loading you up with sugar. This restaurant happened to serve Spaghetti with squid ink. So I gave it a try! It was delicious and the homemade pasta has great texture. My wife ordered Spaghetti with duck, but she liked my selection even better. We shared Fried Calamari as appetizer, and it was fresh and yummy with light batter. We ordered the seafood special based upon walking in and seeing a huge pan on fresh seafood on table and thus made it easy for me and the kid to decide. It was their house special at 35 euros per person (minimum 2). Included lobster and a bunch of shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari in a red broth. Also two large scallops. Takes at least 30 minutes to prep so need the appetizers to get you by. The also close out the special by tossing in pasta after your done with the seafood into the remaining broth. Full disclosure it's a mess to eat. Must use hands. The cover you with s bib. It was delicious. The spouse does not like briny seafood so she didn't eat much but more than enough for 3 (except not for the scallops and lobster portion). We started with a few appetizers. Spouse had the lasagna. It looked good and home made but again I ignored it due to the mountain in front of me. A few drinks and bottle of water. I wish the pasta was available before the end but understand they want to toss it into your pan of sauce. I had originally asked to order a pasta to complement but they said it came with a pasta after ( so I agreed ). Obviously we are tourist so I can't take extra home of which would have been plenty. Total cost about 143 euros. (No additional taxes or tip). Credit card available but we needed to roll home to hotel so left 150 cash on table.

When I visited, there were umbrellas that were the colors of the Italian flag outside. I had a long day of sightseeing before arriving here, but Yelp seemed to strongly recommend this place. It was only me. I had some buffalo mozzarella and with proscuitto. The portion was quite large for a single person. But it was delicious- possibly even a light lunch by itself. I believe I also had a margherita pizza, which was as great as you could hope- with being so far north in Italy, it was really delicious. The service was prompt, kind, and helpful. I had an Aperol spritz, some bottled mineral water, and finished everything with an espresso. I sat outside watching people pass by in the August sun. It was pretty delightful. The pizza and pastas were definitely made with loving hands. The dessert, not so much, as it was constructed with stale lady fingers. Oh well, I didn't need to raise my blood sugar anyway. Still, this is a definite stop!
