We only went to Caffe del Doge because we had time to kill before our reservation nearby. It was a very cold day and a hot chocolate sounded good. I got that along with a chocolate croissants. The person I went with got an espresso. My hot chocolate with cream was pretty good and it went great with their warm delicious chocolate croissant. We paid about 10 euros for two drinks and a croissant. They had lots of drinks to choose from a plenty of pastries made and ready to be eaten. There is some indoor seating and some outdoor. It's hard to snag a table on a busy day though. We ended up sitting outside but we had to be cautious of the aggressive pigeons in front. Still worth checking out the cafe though.

I spent every morning of my trip to Venice in this cafe, meaning I enjoyed three Doge cappuccinos while taking in the scenery and journaling. Venice was the start of my trip so I was still adjusting to the process. Do I sit and wait? Order at the bar then sit? Stand at the bar? I figured it out by day two with an assist from the staff that I sit and have someone come to me, unless standing at the bar. You pay more for this, but it was worth it to me to sit and enjoy the morning. Even so, my cappuccino was a different price all three days I came in here. The first day (when I was confused and likely pissing off the staff) I ordered at the bar, sat, then went up to pay, and my total was 1,50. The next day, table service, 3,50. The next day, same table service...2,50! It was confounding so be sure to check prices in the doorway for table vs. standing service for all items to ensure you know what you're paying. That being said, my cappuccino was always delightful and the staff here is really friendly. You can't beat the views in the outdoor area and it's one of the better options in the main tourist area of Venice. There's great pastries as well, that I did not partake in. Enjoy!

Outdoor & inside seating. Fish, salads, pizza & traditional Italian dishes. I ordered a Caprese & my husband a lasagna bolognese. Happy to have a cool seat, WiFi, & a clean equipped bathroom. We got our icy cold drinks quickly but waited over an hour, after ordering, for our lunch. Lunch was fresh tasty and delicious. Prices are reasonable and portions for perfect.

I was seeking a second caffeinated beverage that morning and ended up at Caffè del Doge before checking out the Rialto Bridge. Love the staff here. After I ordered my cappuccino and lemon cake at the counter, they told a few people to move their bags so I could have a place to sit. The lemon cake was SOOO good. I would actually go out of my way to try more of the pastries, and it's a bonus that this caffè is in a less-crowded area.

This cafe was Dow the street from where I was staying. I got my delicious espresso & food from here every morning before leaving on my adventure for the day. Service was always friendly & great & the morning ambiance was always crazy but good.

Iced coffee "caffe freddo" for this blisteringly hot day

Cute little coffee spot away from the hustle bustle of the tourist parade. We opted for the iced coffee since it's about a thousand degrees outside. Delish and perfect for the weather. The happy baristas spoke perfect English despite my efforts to engage in Italian. At least I tried?

I stumbled upon this adorable cafe one early morning when I was exploring the city of Venice. It can be a little difficult to find because it's tucked away in a less busy part of the city. My boyfriend and I ordered pastries (chocolate gourmandise, my favorite), and I ordered a latte while he ordered a shot of espresso. My latte was just average, but the pastry was delicious and fresh!

The perfect cappuccino, delicious pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice. What more could you ask for?

The coffee was good. Nothing special. After walking around Venice for a bit after our train ride we needed a place to just sit and relax for a few minutes. We weren't hungry yet so we only got drinks...which were kinda pricy in comparison to the other cafes we saw afterwards. The waiters kept talking about us which made us feel uncomfortable so as soon as we finished our drinks we got out of there.

Caffè del Doge became my go-to coffee shop during my week in Venice! My husband and I always were seated at the same little booth where we sipped espressos and worked on my blog via their shop WiFi. The barristas were always so busy, but never failed to lend a smile or offer additional service. Thanks to Roberta and all of the local Venetians for making us feel so welcome. Pro Tips: - Grab some of their coffee or cups as a souvenir - Good WiFi

If you go here, you're going for the experience and you should know what you're in for. They give you a heads up that there is a per person cover charge (8 euros) to sit outside and listen to the orchestra, but the orchestra is incredible I have to say. Just the experience of sitting at a beautiful, historic spot on Piazza San Marcos with the orchestra playing is something in itself. The menu has something for everyone, my husband got a spritz and I had a hot tea. Neither were the best thing we ever had by any means but again, you're there for the experience. I was disappointed the tea was just a tea bag that I had to steep myself. We did not have a reservation, just sat ourselves outside at a table for two. Staff was professional but not particularly quick or friendly.

The menu is extensive but we were wanting to try the Affogato Florian and get something light for lunch, we ordered the Salmone affumicato del Circle Polare Artico. The Salmon was fresh and had a great smoked flavor, it was a serving enough for 2 people to share or one really hungry person! The Salmon was served with toasted bread and butter. The Affogato Florian came with hot chocolate and a cookie with the restaurant name on it - it was a nice treat to have for the afternoon and whether its cold or hot outside it covers the weather in any situation with hot chocolate and ice cream! Service was on point with the waitstaff in white jackets and were attentive. The ambiance was pleasant with antique mirrors and elegant furnishings - it was an experience to be had in Venice

Instead of handling it professionally, a tall blonde employee immediately snapped at me, saying, "Why would you put your card down? That's not your bill." I apologized right away, but she continued to act incredibly rude--rolling her eyes, shaking her head, and talking under her breath while processing the refund. It only got worse from there. When I reached for a slice that had been placed in front of me, she barked, "No, that's not yours." At that point, I felt completely unwelcome and didn't even want the food anymore, so I asked for a refund so I could leave. She refused, claiming the pizza was already in the oven and that I "had to pay for it." She then tried to say I only ordered one slice, when I very clearly ordered four. The entire situation was handled in the most unprofessional, hostile way possible. There was zero accountability, no basic customer service, and the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I have never been treated like that at any business. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Today, spread across six generations, Rosa Salva is a renowned pastry shop situated near the Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo in the Castello district of Venice. This establishment offers a variety of traditional Venetian pastries, including bignè filled with zabaglione cream, Cannolo Siciliano, and pistachio croissants as well as homemade gelatos. My partner, our friends, family member, and I arrived in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday after our visit to Murano and the gondola ride nearby for some sweet treats. The outside terrasse was busy in the late morning and early afternoon, but beware of the pigeons. Some of us went inside and unfortunately didn't see much of a selection. Instead we opted for some gelatos such as mango & coconut , strawberry and lemon, and mango. All accompanied a nice wafer. They were good and fulfilled our needs. The price was comparable to the area. The staff was not welcoming as they need to be a bit motived. A real shame for a place that has a long tradition in Venice.
