    Caffe Brasilia

It was our first time in Venice and my husband & I decided to go to this place, unfortunately. We noticed the entire menu was overpriced compared to other places we had been but decided to stay as the location was convenient and we needed to take a tour nearby right after. I ordered a cheese & ham sandwich which was ok and my husband ordered the waffles (PLURAL). What my husband got was a kid's size waffle (yes, ONE waffle) which we thought was a mistake and decided to bring it up to the waiter. The waiter agreed it must had been a mistake as the menu said "waffles". To our surprise, the owner did agree it was a mistake on their end but that if we wanted another waffle we needed to pay another €6.50. Clearly the owner needs to take some sort of business management class as this decision only reflects their poor business management skills. The LEAST they could've done AFTER agreeing it was a mistake on their end is serve us another of their kid's size waffle. We went to Nikki Bar the following day and not only do they serve quality meals but the prices are mor reasonable and the owner is a true Italian who loves to keep her customers happy (go check out this place instead). We won't be returning to Caffe Brasilia and I'm making sure everyone knows about this scam. The owner clearly only cares about making profit off of tourists!

The owner was the nicest ever. They greeted me with such warmth & wanted me to try some of their delicious liquor. I don't drink which in them they offered me an espresso on the house. The ambiance was great as well as their food.

Pastries and cappuccino are great! Waffles with the Nutella is to die for. Also has Wi-Fi which is a great park.

A local referred to this cool little bar. I loved it. THEY HAVE WIFI PEOPLE. Which is plus for us Americans because we NEED it lol. The drinks were eh okay. I did love the atmosphere here though. They music was very modern for the younger crowd which we greatly appreciated. The pina colada I had wasn't too good. But I had a Mai tai and that was good. My friends drinks were good as well. I guess it was just a miss with that one. They give you a free little bowl of chips for when you sit down which is a nice thing to snack on while you order and drink. The staff was also nice and helpful. Asked for drink referrals and he was able to provide. They have a large selection of drinks here and he also said we can say whatever we like and he'll go try to make it for us so that was also nice. I would definitely stop back to this bar if i go back to Venice.

Kinda expected better based on the Yelp reviews. I suppose it depends on what you feel is important. The place isn't terrible, but it's not especially great either. They have free wifi, it's reasonably priced compared to everything else on the island, and you get to take a break and sit outside on the street of assassins! The coffee we tried wasn't great, but that could be our fault. Husband had the black espresso and it was meh. I tried the ginseng coffee as I'm Asian, and we don't even have that in Asia! It's suppose to give you energy, and I think that's probably due to the amount of sugar they poured in there. Maybe it was to cover up the bitterness from the ginseng, but wow that's a lot of sugar. I should've known not to order it when I told the waitress and her expression read, "You sure you want to order that?"

That was the woman who was extremely rude.

They have wifi, are friendly, have tortilla chips, and make decent cocktails, all rare and wonderfully useful things to an American tourist.

Great little cafe with outdoor seating and excellent cocktails. Manhattan was one of the best I've had. Fair prices and friendly staff.

We got a cappuccino, fresh squeezed orange juice, a little pizza looking pastry and then one of the bacon/eggs breakfast options.

If you go here, you're going for the experience and you should know what you're in for. They give you a heads up that there is a per person cover charge (8 euros) to sit outside and listen to the orchestra, but the orchestra is incredible I have to say. Just the experience of sitting at a beautiful, historic spot on Piazza San Marcos with the orchestra playing is something in itself. The menu has something for everyone, my husband got a spritz and I had a hot tea. Neither were the best thing we ever had by any means but again, you're there for the experience. I was disappointed the tea was just a tea bag that I had to steep myself. We did not have a reservation, just sat ourselves outside at a table for two. Staff was professional but not particularly quick or friendly.

The menu is extensive but we were wanting to try the Affogato Florian and get something light for lunch, we ordered the Salmone affumicato del Circle Polare Artico. The Salmon was fresh and had a great smoked flavor, it was a serving enough for 2 people to share or one really hungry person! The Salmon was served with toasted bread and butter. The Affogato Florian came with hot chocolate and a cookie with the restaurant name on it - it was a nice treat to have for the afternoon and whether its cold or hot outside it covers the weather in any situation with hot chocolate and ice cream! Service was on point with the waitstaff in white jackets and were attentive. The ambiance was pleasant with antique mirrors and elegant furnishings - it was an experience to be had in Venice

Instead of handling it professionally, a tall blonde employee immediately snapped at me, saying, "Why would you put your card down? That's not your bill." I apologized right away, but she continued to act incredibly rude--rolling her eyes, shaking her head, and talking under her breath while processing the refund. It only got worse from there. When I reached for a slice that had been placed in front of me, she barked, "No, that's not yours." At that point, I felt completely unwelcome and didn't even want the food anymore, so I asked for a refund so I could leave. She refused, claiming the pizza was already in the oven and that I "had to pay for it." She then tried to say I only ordered one slice, when I very clearly ordered four. The entire situation was handled in the most unprofessional, hostile way possible. There was zero accountability, no basic customer service, and the way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I have never been treated like that at any business. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My partner, our friends, family member, and I arrived in the mid-afternoon on a Sunday after our visit to Murano and the gondola ride nearby for some sweet treats. The outside terrasse was busy in the late morning and early afternoon, but beware of the pigeons. Some of us went inside and unfortunately didn't see much of a selection. Instead we opted for some gelatos such as mango & coconut , strawberry and lemon, and mango. All accompanied a nice wafer. They were good and fulfilled our needs. The price was comparable to the area. The staff was not welcoming as they need to be a bit motived. A real shame for a place that has a long tradition in Venice.
