Cute little cafe great for breakfast! They have a wide selection of pastries & coffee as well as some other breakfast options. We got a cappuccino, fresh squeezed orange juice, a little pizza looking pastry and then one of the bacon/eggs breakfast options. The cappuccino and bacon/eggs were good. It was our first time in Venice and my husband & I decided to go to this place, unfortunately. We noticed the entire menu was overpriced compared to other places we had been but decided to stay as the location was convenient and we needed to take a tour nearby right after. I ordered a cheese & ham sandwich which was ok and my husband ordered the waffles (PLURAL). What my husband got was a kid's size waffle (yes, ONE waffle) which we thought was a mistake and decided to bring it up to the waiter. The waiter agreed it must had been a mistake as the menu said "waffles". To our surprise, the owner did agree it was a mistake on their end but that if we wanted another waffle we needed to pay another €6.50. Clearly the owner needs to take some sort of business management class as this decision only reflects their poor business management skills. The LEAST they could've done AFTER agreeing it was a mistake on their end is serve us another of their kid's size waffle. We went to Nikki Bar the following day and not only do they serve quality meals but the prices are mor reasonable and the owner is a true Italian who loves to keep her customers happy (go check out this place instead). We won't be returning to Caffe Brasilia and I'm making sure everyone knows about this scam. The owner clearly only cares about making profit off of tourists! read more

My husband and I came in to have beer and wine. The service was good and the atmosphere was inviting. We are as American as ever, so we really appreciated the friendly service. The wine and beer selections aren't huge, and we noticed many folks with cocktails. Prices are probably a little below average for the area, and it seemed like there were regulars so the price can't be that bad? 4-7 euro for various beers and wine. A local referred to this cool little bar. I loved it. THEY HAVE WIFI PEOPLE. Which is plus for us Americans because we NEED it lol. The drinks were eh okay. I did love the atmosphere here though. They music was very modern for the younger crowd which we greatly appreciated. The pina colada I had wasn't too good. But I had a Mai tai and that was good. My friends drinks were good as well. I guess it was just a miss with that one. They give you a free little bowl of chips for when you sit down which is a nice thing to snack on while you order and drink. The staff was also nice and helpful. Asked for drink referrals and he was able to provide. They have a large selection of drinks here and he also said we can say whatever we like and he'll go try to make it for us so that was also nice. Kinda expected better based on the Yelp reviews. I suppose it depends on what you feel is important. The place isn't terrible, but it's not especially great either. They have free wifi, it's reasonably priced compared to everything else on the island, and you get to take a break and sit outside on the street of assassins! The coffee we tried wasn't great, but that could be our fault. Husband had the black espresso and it was meh. I tried the ginseng coffee as I'm Asian, and we don't even have that in Asia! It's suppose to give you energy, and I think that's probably due to the amount of sugar they poured in there. Maybe it was to cover up the bitterness from the ginseng, but wow that's a lot of sugar. The coffee was good. However, the service is awful. The woman with the long black hair and glasses was extremely rude. The first time I ordered she just seemed rather annoyed with my friend and I, but the second time I had ordered coffee later on the same day so I could wait in the shop for a friend. I finished my coffee about 15-20 minutes after I walked in. I was still waiting for my friend and the same woman asked me to leave to seat other people that had just arrived. I would have understood if there was no other seating, or if they had been waiting for a while, but I had also placed an order and there was also seating outside. I then sat outside and about 10 minutes later she asked my to leave again. Great for what we needed - quick espresso and pastries. In and out in under 10 minutes. Steady stream of regulars at the bar, while non-regulars (i.e. tourists) are directed to the tables. Tolerant of our broken Italian. Good for a quick fix. We did not try the drinks or non-breakfast options, but looked good. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! IF I COULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS I WOULD! This place was awful to my mom!! We were on our way to a tour of Venice, but we decided to stop here for some coffee. We ordered our drinks and then sat down, but then realized we had to go to our tour. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and sandwiches. I then asked if they had a togo cup for my coffee because we quickly had to go to our tour. We even let them know we had to go to a tour and that we were in a rush when my mother payed. When the man server set down our drinks, that's when I asked for a togo cup, he then dramatically rolled his eyes at me and started picking up and slamming down our coffee onto his plater. My mother, seeing him rather angry, told him it was okay and that we could just quickly drink it here. We quickly drank our drinks and then asked for our sandwiches, but they weren't ready. We understood that they weren't ready and told them we would come back to the cafe after our tour, they said "ok". She told us she would have them ready after our tour. We came back after our tour and my mother politely asked for our sandwiches and the Asian lady who took our order rolled her eyes once again and let out a huge grunt. We sat at a table and waited almost 30 minutes for our sandwiches that should have been ready 3 hours ago. Finally, my mother asked the lady why she was mad at her. The lady just avoided the question and kept on taking other people's order. My mother started to cry because the lady kept showing signs of anger and the Asian lady was laughing and telling other customers about how stupid my mom was. My mother was still crying but she still stood up and waited for our sandwiches, finally the lady SLAPPED down our sandwiches and immediately walked away. If I could give zero stars I would, the staff is so rude they were laughing that my mum because she couldn't speak Italian, my mom was mad that she couldn't get her order even though the staff said it would be ready in 5 min. Ok I'll start at the beginning, we walked in the caffe to get some coffee and sandwiches the Asian Lady working there ( I won't specify who it was ) she said the sandwiches will be ready in five minutes we waited 20 minutes for sandwiches but they actually never came because we had to leave to go to a meeting. We told her we were in a rush before we ordered and she said that was fine. The lady said she could hold our sandwiches till after the meeting. After we came from the meeting she was so rude when we walked in she was so appalled that we actually came in again, I think she thought she could get away with us paying for two sandwiches and not actually reviving it. My mom asked for sandwiches and she said oh no no no no she can't have them even though other people were getting the same exact sandwich during the same time and we already ordered and paid for it before our meeting. After a while my mom asked for her money back but the lady working there didn't want to give us our money back but she said she wouldn't do that and would give us our sandwiches so we asked where they were and she said you don't get them my mom asked this very nice man speaking Italian why she was mad at us, she said she can't can't give our money back, the lady then got mad at the man, we feel sorry that we got the man involved. My mom started to cry because she was really stressed out that day because the meeting was very stressful and the lady just kind of laughed and was very rude to her. In my opinion if you see someone cry you shouldn't laugh at them or be more rude to them. We finally got our sandwiches and it wasn't anything we asked for after 30 minutes of waiting there even though we were gone they could've been ready.
