A small little pasticceria ran by a Chinese lady and her young son helping out opened from morning to late.
The decor was simplistic. Nice warm wooden decor and seating and away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas.
It opens as early as 7am to serve breakfast for the locals and closes as late as 10pm for a evening snack. We had a look at their menu and they sell pizzas and pastas for lunch too. Typical cafe food in a relaxing atmosphere.
That evening we were only accompanied by a few customers. Staff were efficient, cleaning away making sure the place is pristine. Food was presented beautifully which made it a little more special than the average cafe.
That evening we came for some desserts and ordered the following:
Apple torta was lovely and juicy, sweet with no signs of tartness and custardy.
The torta della nonna (custard ricotta) was lovely and smooth. The pastry was moist and light too allowing the creamy filling to shine through.
If anyone is staying in the Sweet Venice bed and breakfast and looking for a decent breakfast place then I highly recommend this little cafe. Not overpriced like many cafes further on. read more
