Very cute cafe in Venice along a pleasant canal. This was one of the few cafes I encountered in Italy that offered alternative milk, so I had my first Italian oat milk latte here. It was creamy and paired well with my vegana jam filled croissant and made for a nice midday pick me up when I arrived in town. They pre-close and do not care about service. Refused to make coffee 20 min before their closing time because they are closed. Maybe they should change their hours to 12pm if they do not adhere to their opening hours. Refusing service we were met with no eye contact and particularly a younger girl with red hair rolling her eyes. We were told that there isn't good speciality coffee in Venice by numerous roasters throughout Europe so we wanted to find out ourselves. Too bad. We will never know. read more

Excellent! We popped in for a coffee and found an incredible coffee shop! You could tell it was a place for locals and people who know coffee. They had a whole wall of coffee beans that people were buying and having ground in bulk. We got a cappuccino and flat white - both excellent. The croissants - plain, filled, piles of them - although we didn't try them, many others were gobbling them up! read more

Touted to be the only micro roaster in all of Venice - and it shows. No cold brew but the latte and cappuccino were on point, reminded me a bit of our hometown roaster back in Miami. Got the single bean cappuccino for 5 Euro and an iced latte for a bit less + an extra shit of really good espresso. Highly recommend, and in a great area as well in the new ghetto surrounded by some other great drinking and dining spots. Service was also fantastic and friendly, and they didn't mind my americanness which is always appreciated. Will be back next time! read more

Venice is a tourist trap. Being an island, they have to import everything. While some places try to import fresh ingredients, many simply buy frozen pre-made food and dish it to hapless tourists, who can't escape getting ripped off. Our quest was to find some gems that the locals frequent. This adventure led us away from the Grand Canal to the jewish ghetto, Cannaregio. This beautiful, mostly residential neighborhood has some charming coffee shops, trattoria's and other establishments that perhaps may represent the real Venice, a hidden Venice. You know you are in the right place, when there isn't a single voice speaking English, except ours of course. Torrefazione is perhaps the best coffee shop in Venice. Their baked goods are baked in Venice using artisanal ingredients. Their coffee beans is curated from around the world. Espresso from India, check, from Madagascar, check, and from South America, check and mate. I had some mocha, and it was some of the best mocha in northern Italia. This made me adventurous for something special. So I asked the barista to surprise me. Here's what he ended up making: An insanely delicious cappuccino-latte with real pistachio syrup. It wasn't too sweet, but the combination of pistachio and coffee beans is divine. It looks green, but it tastes like pistachio coffee. If you ever get a chance to make your way to Cannaregio, you cannot make a better pit-stop than Torrefazione Cannaregio. Trust the barista and get the pistachio latte. read more

Torrefazione Cannaregio is a gleaming jewel of a destination for those of us who love excellent coffee! In my experience, the coffee in Italy is generally excellent. It's so good that you'll have serious withdrawal for it when you find yourself back in the US. Bearing in mind how generally high the coffee bar is, Torrefazione Cannaregio takes the quality of their brew to a whole new level of quality :-) When you come here, consider induling in several cups so you can sample some of the different types and varieties available. You'll probably end up staying up through most of the night, but the experience will be totally worth it! Tip: If you (like me) find youself falling in love with the coffee here, be sure to buy some beans to take back to the US with you; it'll help cushion the pain of withdrawal ;-) read more

This place is hands down the best coffee I've had on my three week trip to Italy and probably the best I've ever had, full stop. We got a couple of cappuccinos and an espresso, and the espresso was honestly the best I've ever had - the coffee was really flavoursome without losing anything to the bitterness usually accompanying an espresso. The staff run a slick operation, and although it is quite big, there is very limited seating/tables with mostly standing room. If you're in Venice and enjoy coffee - you have to go here! My only regret is not buying a few of bags of the various types of beans that they have. read more

If I could get their beans shipped overseas, I would. Soo good. Best black I have ever tasted. I should have bought more. Back before the pandemic, this was a known go-to spot for espresso and baked goodies (casual Italian style coffee, of course). Since the pandemic, I've been craving their beans. I had an excellent flat white here. They roast their own coffee, and the quality is top notch. It was so good that I bought some of their Nespresso capsules for the office. While the quality of espresso is great, the pods are poorly assembled and stop up both the Nespresso machines in my office. It seems that the capsules may be overfilled, and so the water can't get through once the espresso expands a bit. I would definitely go back for espresso, but I would obviously advise against getting their Nespresso pods. read more

If you're in Cannaregio and just want some good coffee, a light snack of pastries, and to chill out. This is a solid spot. Try their "bagel salato" which is definitely not a bagel but instead basically just a croissant filled with varying ingredients like cheeses or prosicutto. Misnomer but still tasty. read more

Visited on my vacation to Venice. Delicious coffee and fresh pastries. The location is great and you can sip on your cappuccino while you watch the boats go by. It must be good because there were plenty of locals enjoying it as well :-) Definitely give this spot a try if you are visiting Venice! read more

This was certainly the best coffee place in Venice! The main guy there, who was tending the espresso station, appeared to be the owner and definitely knew his coffee. Owner and staff were great and understood and spoke English well enough to get this poor American and his family through the line. Excellent selection of pastries (croissants, cakes, and sweet breads) to accompany our daily cappuccinos and cafe lattes. For first time American visitors, please note, in Italy (well at least in Venice), coffee is a rather quick experience. Not lot back in the States where we tend to overstay our time in a local cafe writing novels and contemplating the meaning of life (jk!). read more

The ambiance was great, we looked up this place on yelp and were not disappointed. The coffee was amazing and the vegan cookies with ginger were delicious. I wished later I had picked up another pack before leaving Venice . The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the coffee temperature was not as hot as I prefer - but to give the preparer his due - he informed me that he does not make flat white with burnt / or extra hot milk as it is carcinogenic. And I have been told that by my regular coffee shop in Providence too:) So it's really a 4.5 star review Will definitely go back the next time we are in Venice read more

The coffee is great, returned many times. But the red headed worker, maybe the manager was rude. I don't expect service to be great, especially for a coffee shop but this one worker a couple times was overtly rude. 4 stars because the craft of the coffee is so good and for the most part the staff was great. read more

Hands down the best espresso place in Venice. Everywhere else on the island was a complete joke by comparison. In the week or so I stayed in Venice, I patronized Torrefazione at least two times a day, and on each occasion the espresso was consistently excellent, even during times one would expect attention to detail to be less than optimal. Every time I ordered an espresso, the pull-times were virtually perfect: the result was a smooth, rich, caramel front followed by a smoky finish which, needless to say, left no bitter aftertaste. Never once was I served an over-extraction. Yet even during the busier times, the barista never served me an espresso after the crema had dissipated. (Once that happens, by the way, the espresso becomes undrinkable. All the fine oils from the bean's roast, which an espresso is meant to extract, dissolve into the liquid, leaving undrinkable sludge.) But given the pride that Torrafazione takes in its espresso - they roast their own beans right in full view of its patronage - I'm not surprised that I never received anything less than excellent from them. It was truly a delight to stand at their bar and to sip on one beautifully-crafted espresso after another. read more

We were in need of some coffee but didn't want to pay a hefty price in a touristy area like Venice so we pulled up Yelp and found this quaint cafe. It is a very small space and gets filled up with locals and tourists. Being from the states we're used to lines and organization when it comes to placing an order, here it's completely different. You just flag down the barista, give them your order and before you leave you pay up front at the cash register. I had a cappuccino and my husband had their espresso. Espresso is only 0.90 cents! That's cheaper than in Rome. My cappuccino was 1.40 euros and was delicious. If you're looking for good coffee at a decent price you should definitely stop by! read more

Really great place. The coffee is good and strong if you want it. You need to ask for the bean and the roast you want. For "Italian style" coffee, I like to order 100% robusta beans with a dark roast and no milk or sugar. Just espresso. The pastries we're a remarkable surprise. They have multigrain croissants and a veriety of flavours from ginger and honey to Berry and anise. Wonderful. Lastly, they allow dogs. Spacious store but it gets packed with tourists and locals. read more

Venice is meant to be explored. Every bridge, every dead end, every gelato stall, and every coffee shop is a destination in their own right. This one is no exception. This place serves amazing coffee, which you enjoy standing (there are no seats), next to the coffee bar. I enjoyed a cappuccino and a tiramisu (sorry, it's nonalcoholic). It's a tight space with a lot of foot traffic, so drink your €1.50 cappuccino and get going to your next destination! read more

Great cafe for a quick breakfast. We stopped in for a quick breakfast of coffee and a pastry at the walk-up bar. The service was friendly and casual. The pastries were displayed on a small table where you just picked up what you wanted, self-service style. The coffee was delicious, as expected in Italy. Our total bill for two croissants and a double coffee was 5€. Good, quick, and inexpensive. Checks all the boxes for us. read more

Lovely place with quality macchiato and coffee aroma. The place itself is kinda hidden in such a crowded and touristic street like Sestiere Cannaregio. I passed it 3 times and just keep looking for it for about 10 minutes. But, it is worth the effort. I love the coffee and definitely come back. read more

Good place to get some cheap and quick coffee. It's a stand up place so no tables to sit and enjoy coffee. It's ok though cause we were on our way to catch our train. Good pastries, fast service, can't really complain! read more

My son got their smoothie and I almost drank his in one sip cuz it was so yummy. Clean bathroom and very nice, friendly, and hipster hosts. They have a small garden inside and it's a place to hang out in the afternoon to just chill. My hubby got some sort of green tea and it was totally soothing. It just calms your soul. We highly recommend this place.
