Lamb kabob, chicken shawarma & regular fries
    Mary R.

Stepped into Al Bacha for lunch and was already thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment and how busy it was. With an extensive menu and open seating, it made it an easy place to grab a meal and have a seat. One thing that stood out to me was that everything was made to order and the portion sizes, can easily be family style if need be. The lamb and chicken was well seasoned, hummus tasted as though it was house-made and the fries has a perfect crisp to them. One thing to note and only one this, we definitely needed a knife! Other than that, would be back again to try Greek fries and shawarma burrito. Great addition to Tacoma!

Located in downtown Tacoma. Walking distance from the Tacoma Convention Center. We stopped here for lunch while attending a tournament at the Tacoma Convention Center. Small establishment, but very clean and well maintained. Our first impression was great. The menu is on display; we can choose items and order at the counter. They will serve it on the table once the food is ready. There have been a few customers already dining in or waiting for food when we walked in. We ordered an Al Bacha Falafel, Gyro Chicken and Beef & Lamb sandwich with Fries on the side. Almost 15+ minutes for the food to arrive; but considering the rush it was fast. The presentation of the food was simple but elegant. The portion was decent. Really enjoyed the sandwiches. The falafel sandwich stood out - the falafel was lightly crispy but well cooked - delicious with the sauces in it. The meat sandwiches were also great. The meat was tender and juicy. Really worth the walk that afternoon. Service was great; friendly staffs. Quality food. Enough space to sit, relax and enjoy the food. Great spot!

Pretty solid Mediterranean food in Tacoma. Portions are large and everything is fresh/ made to order. A lot of different combo meals, salads or sandwiches to choose from. The fries are def better enjoyed there vs take out so they don't get soggy.

I happened to pass this restaurant and had never seen it before! I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did! This will become a go-to when in the office. The food was absolutely delicious. The entree I got was $20 but lasted for both lunch and dinner. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Very impressed!

I have been to at least 10 different Mediterranean (gyro) places in both Tacoma and Seattle. I have to say, this place gets the gold for me, specifically their gyros. I have been here 3 times now and tried both the chicken and lamb/beef gyros. Not only have they tasted SO good, they've been CONSISTENTLY good, and this makes me want to continue returning! Their meat is so juicy and tender, the marinade is super flavorful; portion is very generous with both meat and veggies; and the presentation is always neat and makes it easy to eat. Have to specifically mention their tzatziki sauce - fresh! Service is always amazing here. The lady at the cashier always makes the visit easy and friendly. What a gem!

I'm in Tacoma for work and was craving some Mediterranean food when I stumbled upon Al Bacha--a modest spot that turned out to be an absolute gem. I ordered the Chicken Tawook Plate, and wow! I was not expecting the incredible burst of flavors I got. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with an amazing blend of spices unlike anything I've ever had. Every bite was so good that I finished my entire plate and immediately started thinking about coming back tomorrow! If you're in the area and love bold, flavorful food, Al Bacha is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Al Bacha is a newer restaurant that opened in downtown Tacoma. I kept forgetting to go here for a while but finally did remember a few Fridays ago to give it a try. I did a take out order for a lamb gyro and that went pretty well. It wasn't long before my order was ready. The gyro itself was good. Ingredients were fresh and the meat was tasty. It made for a very good lunch. I didn't realize just how much salt was in the gyro though as later on I got thirsty for water and had several glasses of it during work which isn't quite a routine for me. I will make an order here again however but perhaps will try their hummus sometime.

Delicious! Got the lamb gyro and the shawarma chicken plate. Tremendous. Worth the price. Huge portion size, great for sharing. Service was friendly. Food was fresh. Quiet ambiance. Good for a small group. Lots of locals.

The wraps had a great ratio of all the listed ingredients and you can yaste everything in each bite. The ingredients tasted and looked fresh! The interior is very cozy with plenty of seating that accommodates solo, couples or small groups. They have great lighting in there, both natural and inside. It was our first time in but I had my eyes on it for a while, so I'm glad we finally checked it out. Admittedly, we almost left because it was SO busy and we weren't sure we would even get a table. We weren't expecting it to be as wild as it was. When we ordered drinks at the bar we had mentioned we might take off and the bartender saw a table become vacant and quickly rushed over and held and cleaned it for us. She was so awesome - come to find out she was one of the owners! While it was busy, orders came out quickly. Any time we asked for a drink it was there just a couple of minutes later and our food came out in about 10 minutes which isn't bad. We got the Esquites and the Barbacoa Nachos to split and we loved both. Both were packed full of flavor and the barbacoa is so tender! And they don't skimp on the toppings, either. The vibe itself is super fun with mirrors, sparkly walls, and an overall comfortable dive aesthetic. And the cherry on top is that this place is crazy affordable on prices. For our two food items, and 3 beers and a shot each, we only racked up a $65 after tip. My husband had to triple check that they didn't miss anything! So glad we finally got to come here and we'll definitely be back.

When we asked where our lunch order was she was very apologetic and said they were exceptionally busy but bad service is bad service. That said, the sandwiches when they finally arrived were very tasty. I had a Brie, tomato, onion and basil on a toasted baguette. As it turns out, the tuna is canned with a strong fishy smell and flavor. I had assumed that the tuna with be cubed or sliced. This is a great place for vegans and vegetarians as well. Now, the fishy taste of the tuna was so string that I immediately brushed my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth.
