    All dressed pizza
    Nancy H.

A little pizza/pita place that also sells a wide array of middle eastern pastries. They sell pizzas at very low prices, maybe around 3 doars for a decent sized slice with tax included, and theyre open late, which is the main draw. The pizza varieties include cheese and pepperoni (i believe halal?), all dressed, veggie, mexican, and chicken. I've tried all except the cheese and pepperoni. The only one that's decent is the mexican, and the chicken (though it's a bit dry). The others are in severe need of a more flavourful sauce and just more salt in general. The mexican pizza has a decent amount of flavour. They do offer to warm the pizza for you, though sometimes it comes out lukewarm anyway. If you get a fresh slice it's not a bad deal. They take debit or cash only. The service is overall pretty friendly. It's not the best pizza by a long shot but if you're in the area and looking for cheap eats it's not a bad bet.

    Loaded spicy beef manakish

This place is delicious and affordable. It's basically a halal bakery that sells manakish and sandwiches, as well as Amir-like food and trios. Been here a couple of times including yesterday and got 12 deliciously fresh mini pizzas (great idea for a potluck) and 2 fully loaded spicy beef kafta manakish (with olives, garlic sauce, etc) all for $13.55. You won't get that from Altaib or Aroush! If you're near the Snowdon/Universite de MTL area, it's a must-try!!

I like this place because it's next to the Université de Montréal and Cote-des-Neiges metro station, plus they stay open late. It's perfect for after-class dating. Microeconomie ends at 7pm. You walk out with that sweet classmate of yours, and be like : ''Hey, wanna eat something maybe ?'' Well, there's no disageement possible about where to go... you just head up to Al-Amine because half the place is fresh bakery/pastry/pizza and other half is juicy chicken/beef sandwiches or plates.

Food was great and fairly priced! The customer service was very good. This restaurant reminds me of old times and it has a cozy vibe.

We were a family of four and sat near the window. It's true there's no AC, but with the windows open, it isn't so bad. The cushioned benches and colorful quilted ceiling along with the Moroccan lanterns really evoke the feeling of being transported to North and Western Africa. And I have traveled and eaten my way across Morocco. The chef here is from Mauritania, and the cuisine is similar to that of Morocco's. It's a pre-fixe menu, and we were given lentil soup with pita bread, hummus, and a platter filled with stewed beef & dates, chicken and green olives, and chickpeas all over couscous. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, and everything tasted delicious. The lentil soup, by the way, was the tastiest lentil soup I have ever had. I could do that, pita, and a salad and be satisfied. We finished with a pot of Moroccan mint tea, where our server poured the first round from way up high as they do in Morocco, surrounding countries, and the Middle East. He did great without spilling lol. Service was excellent. Our server was the only one working the dining room, and he did a great job attending to everyone's needs, including those of other diners around us. He had a sense of humor and was very generous when he asked if anyone wanted more food and tea. If you're looking to dine on Northwestern African food and enjoy a unique ambiance, this is a wonderful spot. It's perfect for dates and groups. Enjoy and expect to be wow'ed.

We were 4, so we just got the "mixed" couscous service ($30 apiece) , which is all three of their dishes- Beef couscous with dates, Chicken and olives, and vegetables. All were marvelous, though the beef & dates has my heart. Highly recommend going if you're in Fairmount. Next time we're up in Montreal again, I'll pay another visit for sure.

Upon entering the restaurant, I'm instantly reminded of the late nights waiting at a halal cart in nyc after a night out. This restaurant itself is not the cleanest and rather chaotic on weekend nights. Theres usually a long line to order, but it moves rather quickly and efficiently. The staff members aren't the friendliest, but they get the job done LOL. You'll find a bunch of hungry and probably drunk people sitting at the cafeteria styled seats at night. The food is the main selling point here though. I've gotten the mixed platter and shawarma platter; both with generous servings of protein all doused in a flavorful sauce. Ordered the poutine recently and was also impressed how much they loaded the protein. It was a little on the saltier side and wished they had more cheese curds, but still pretty enjoyable. The fries were also more like small potato wedges. I've recommended this place countless times for almost any point of the day, but they especially hit the spot after a long night.

In terms of my yardstick for Greek style thick and juicy crust loaded with tons of cheese, I'm used to B&M which always does a pretty good job. Based upon the reputation and pedigree of this restaurant, I had high expectations. The pizza arrived quickly and upon opening the box, I had a huge smile on my face. It's been a long time since I laid eyes on such a good looking pie. The crust looked thick and doughy, the generous toppings (I ordered a meat lovers with extra pineapple...that's how I roll) were bursting out of a pool of perfectly browned mozzarella. Never has the look of a food been so misleading. The taste of this pizza had virtually no redeeming qualities. BTW....I was STARVING! The cardboard box might have tasted good given my hunger. Unfortunately the cheese was absolutely tasteless. How does one go about sourcing mozzarella made without any salt? Is the even a thing? The toppings also had no taste at all. The pepperoni was completely bland. The pineapples were tart instead of sweet. Finally, the crust was simply ridiculous. They give you the option between thick and thin crust. My definition of thin is near razor thin crispy pizza. There's nothing wrong with that, but I was in the mood for a regular pizza so I selected thick. Big Mistake. This was the thickest and most tasteless crust I've ever tried. Imagine the disappointment of getting through all the tasteless toppings and cheese just to land on crust that is neither salty nor sweet. There is no airiness to the crust. It is simply a solid tasteless mass of wasted opportunity. On Super Bowl Sunday, this pizza broke my heart like Fredo in Godfather II. I got through one slice and tried in vain to start a second before tossing the whole disaster in the garbage in a moment of resignation and dejection. Khalid S.'s review from November 28th 2016 is spot on. I will not be eating here again.
