My wife signed up for this membership and it was all going fine - our children are now in school and the schedules didn't match up, so she had to cancel and called in for help. She still has 6 credits which are super expensive, that she wants to use when she has the open slot by some miracle (these are already paid for classes) - they said sorry, we can't help. By cancelling, we need to pay another 30 days, plus she would lose her 6 credits. Aka, take over 1 month of pre paid credits to the grave, and yet still pay another month, to then be able to cancel. Zero empathy or understanding with a loyal long-time customer who simply is now unable to attend due to our children starting school for the first time, and no care in the world to help keep the credits. We didn't ask for a refund, simply to maintain them to use what was paid for in the small chance she can - and nothing from them. This is NOT how you treat loyal local customers who have referred many friends to your gym. This is not how you get customers back in your gym when schedules allow once again. Poor service, no care once you start paying, and scammy policies that make zero sense. Do the right ting - if someone pays for classes, let them use them. If someone needs to cancel due to reasons out of their control, let them go without stealing paid for courses. These simple practices are how you maintain a happy community, and my wife would've referred more friends to your gym, and instead, you now have a very unhappy and loud past customer and you will lose much more than what you're stealing from us. Bad customer service and refuse to work with customer when wish to cancel membership. They don't mention theirs 30 days cancellation policy at the time or signing. I tried to comunícate with their customer service but only got answers that they can't do nothing but keep charging my account and hang up my phone. Be very careful. Update I contacted the Manhasset location but just told by staff that monthly membership will just keep on recurring event I emailed them my cancellation request again. Where to even start with this awesome workout?? When I went into my first intro class I was so excited to begin working out again. Before the class even started the instructor asked me my name and throughout the whole class she gave me complements on my form, and helped me out when I struggled.When the class ended the instructor came up to me and asked if I liked the class and told me more about the other classes. I love how personable each of the instructors are. Each class has its own style and there is not one I like more than the other. I started to enjoy working out which I have never done before. I love how the content changes every 3 weeks so you don't feel like you're doing the same things over and over again like at a regular gym. I recommend AKT to everyone I know. Went to a trial class and signed up immediately! It is the most amazing workout ever with a different combo of everything. I love how the content changes every 3 weeks into new "routines". I've brought plenty of friends here who absolutely loved it and signed up as well! There is a dance class, a tone class which is more slow paced but still tough, circuit which is similar to a HIIT workout and bands which is my favorite! Bands is a high cardio class using resistance bands from the ceiling, it is so amazing and I burn 600-700 calories in one hour. I recommend this class to everyone I know! The instructors are amazing and so personable and I love going to class 4-5x a week! You won't regret joining, first class is free!!! read more

HORRIBLE. Don't waste your money and time. I was always the ONLY person in the several classes I tried. Small-time, canned, boring and unoriginal content. Certainly not dancing. Beware of the fast-talking, shady manager who offered me a pack of starter classes that was actually a year membership, at near $200 per month/top dollar. NOTE: Any follow up from AKT indicating the situation was resolved or some positive outcome IS FALSE. Based on other negative reviews, AKT posts a follow up indicating everything was resolved to the customers' satisfaction. Nothing was resolved nor will I ever interact with these clowns again. I appealed to them in every way I could but they replied nastily and still billed me for several months. Had to involve the credit card company and legal counsel. read more

I love the upbeat, welcoming greeting coming into these classes. The energy and enthusiasm of the trainers and staff is also a bonus. The classes are so fun..... the light, music and movement make it feel more like a party and the workout is just a bonus. The routines and classes are constantly changing so you can never get bored and the trainers keep you motivated throughout the classes. they scam you off the free intro class, offering a special new member package rate, but fail to voice you Will automatically be charged after first month and it takes 30 days to cancel which automatically adds another month to your card. I got so fed up with some gyms out there and decided to try AKT for a month. Wow I'll tell you I am hooked after the first class. They have everything from dance to bands to tone to a bunch of other fun classes... This place is amazing. It's like a spa/gym. When I go there above all I enjoy the classes and have utmost fun. Honestly I can't wait to go back. They have everything catered to their clients. They have nice clean changing rooms equipped with everything from deodorant to beauty products for your use. It's clean and I'm always greeted with a smile. They really try hard to accommodate you in every way possible and make it a totally stress free experience. I had something that came up with my package and I asked Tanya at the front desk to help me. She was so helpful and knowledgeable , every time I come in I get a smile and she is so attentive and nice. I am so happy that I signed up to AKT. This place is no nonsense. You get the good workout and the nice friendly staff. If you guys have any concerns or want to sign up I recommend talking to Tanya this girl is really kind and very helpful. She really made sure all my questions were answered and she helped me sign up and resolve any issues I had effortlessly. read more
