Love this workout! It's like pilates on steroids. I've been noticing myself getting stronger and my posture improving. I love mixing this in with traditional HIIT classes, which can be tough on my knees, during the week. Instructors are also great and make sure you maintain the proper form. They each use the machine slightly differently so you'll feel like you're getting a different workout each time, which is great and keeps you from ever plateauing. FYI the Yelp page says it's virtual only, which is wrong. They are doing in-person classes read more

I've taken plenty of Pilates/Pilates-variation classes and this is the best by far. It's the only one I've ever secured a full membership for and if I could go everyday I genuinely would. I just started at Corefire about a month ago and I absolutely love it. I'm typically an adrenaline junkie when it comes to exercise (hiit workouts, bootcamps, etc) and took a Corefire class on a whim not knowing what to expect. I'm hooked! It's the opposite of what I typically gravitate towards - the focus is on form and slow, controlled movements. Every class is different, and I'm consistently sore (in a good way!). Instructors are great and correct form throughout class to help prevent injury. So lucky to have Corefire in the neighborhood! read more

I work out a fair amount - I do all the classes from HIIT to spin to bootcamp to yoga to running classes yet this reformers pilates class kick my butt in the best way possible. Not only was the instructor helpful with guiding me throughout class, the music was upbeat and made class fun and the machines seemed to be brand new and super clean. I can see a difference in my muscle tone from one class alone - I can only imagine what kind of results would come from taking this class weekly! What an experience! I tried Corefire this week and I was truly impressed with the total body workout. Corefire has beautiful facilities and knowledgable instructors who catered the workout to my fitness level. Their equipment is new and high quality, and their downtown Upper Montclair location is convenient for a workout (and a smoothie afterwards). Angela and Cait are high energy instructors who keep their students motivated and engaged. They had a real feel for the class - when we needed to push harder and when we needed to slow it down. That attention to detail helped each student leave the class satisfied (as far as I could tell!). Angela helped me find the right form for each exercise, ensuring I worked my muscles effectively. Cait could tell when I was tired out and helped me get back in the saddle. Together they're a wonderful team, and I look forward to getting back to the studio for another round of Corefire! read more

Corefire is everything a fitness studio should be. The instructors really know what they are doing. They know how to push you and also stay lighthearted during this INTENSE workout. The music is great, really pumps me up and the facility is welcoming and clean. It's called Corefire for a reason. I'm a workout junkie but this class gets my core, legs and arms SHAKING more than any other workout! I've been going for a few months and can feel the difference in my core (and posture) - a strong core makes it safer to do all the other activities I like (lifting, running, sprinting, spin, etc). Corefire Pilates has become an addiction! I say this because the workout is so effective I am seeing results in only 2 weeks. I feel stronger, leaner and lighter. Each class is different and intense, and I am undoubtedly dripping sweat within the first 4 minutes. The instructors are all full of energy and very motivating. Angela is fun and bubbly, but beware her ab workouts are a killer! Cait is awesome, she will challenge your body AND mind all while making sure you are in the right form. Corefire is a must try! This place is legit. Joe is my absolute favorite and will leaving you feeling the burn for days after. He does not do other nonsense/weird moves on the mega former like other places do, but rather focuses on solid, basic moves that will truly change your body. Since I began he has remembered my name and made sure i was comfortable before, during, and after class. I recommend this to people of all fitness levels. Joe will modify and correct you throughout class without you feeling dumb or judged. It's really a full-body workout that is so much more fun than traditional cardio. read more

I really love this studio and this workout! I am not a natural exerciser and I am a parent who also works full-time. The Lagree method is perfect for anyone who is crunched for time. The workout is so incredibly efficient. In 45 minutes, every part of your body has been exercised and toned and you work up a good sweat. I saw great results and dramatically increased muscle definition really quickly, after only a month of going twice a week. The "baby belly" from my second son is essentially gone. I am now up to going to class three times a week and always feel fantastic afterward. It's addictive! The studio itself is really clean, bright and pleasant. The owners are engaged with the business and the instructors are very motivating. I also find the schedule very accommodating. I commute into NYC every day so I am usually at a 5:15 or 5:30 a.m. class before heading home to get myself and the kids ready and then jump on the train. It is the only place in town where I found a class before 5:30 a.m. That is another way that the 45 minute workout helps- every minute counts in the morning! I highly recommend Corefire. Go, and stick with it for at least a month! You will see results and you won't be sorry! read more

Had my first session on a Megaformer at Corefire with Angela and Caitlin and I loved it! High intensity, low impact and easily scales to an individual's fitness level no matter what level those around you are at. The instruction was great, really positive and motivating without any drill instructor feel. I get most of my exercise through free weights, tennis, basketball and surfing. The Megaformer workout is so unique and hit so many muscles that I'm not used to working. Judging by the serious sweat I had going only a few minutes in, and the way my body feels today (the day after), I'm definitely going to incorporate this into my list of regular workout types. One thing about the way I feel today and could immediately tell as soon as the session started, is that this workout will not only supplement all my other athletic activities to give me something I wasn't getting, but will also improve performance in my other activities. For tennis basketball and surfing, I can see this really helping with balance and agility because of the way it works your whole body, especially your core and all your stabilizer muscles that so many other exercise techniques simply can't target. I have that great whole body workout feeling you get, plus some. I feel great and am looking forward to future sessions. read more

I had my first experience with a Megaformer machine at Corefire with Tara this weekend, and it was one of the best workouts I've ever had. I never want to go back to mat Pilates - you work out such deep muscles, and you feel stronger after even one class. The 45 workout is high intensity, but didn't hurt my knees or hips like high-impact workouts have in the past. I've had shoulder issues since high school, and Tara made quick and challenging adjustments to take the pressure off and still get to the right muscles. As a beginner, Tara made me feel very comfortable and paid special attention to my form; there's no slacking in this class - she makes you do it right so that you're getting the right muscles, and I haven't been this sore (in a good way) in a very long time. Angela and Cait did SUCH a great job with the studio - it's bright, beautiful, clean and definitely a nice change from some studios I've gone to in NYC. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in NJ! read more

An amazing, extremely challenging class with Kelly that had the option of weights to exercises that already were incredibly fatiguing. Kelly clearly explained and/or demonstrated each transition, encouraged, motivated and kept an eye on our form. Will need to work towards being able to keep up with the exercises. read more

On sunday I had my first session with Mara . I have never done Pilates before and I hate Yoga because I feel that I am not flexible enough. I have to say , although I was all over the place , I loved my session . Mara is great and very attentive , the studio is clean and I loved the fact that after the workout disinfectant wipes were placed on top of the reformers so that when we finished we wipe down the machine. read more

I liked the smaller class size, it allowed for more individualized instruction and Joe was watching my form and helped me make minor corrections when necessary. Corefire Pilates is the real deal! I work out at least five times per week and the class still challenged me. The Corefire workout forces you to use muscles not activated in regular workouts. My legs were shaking ten minutes into the workout! It is now two days later and my core is still tight from performing new exercises my body is not used to. As a former personal trainer, I am always skeptical about *new* workout fads, but Corefire Pilates is not that. Try it once and you'll know what I'm talking about. The instructor, Tara, was awesome! I've been to Corefire with Cait and Ange twice and it is a workout like no other. It works muscles that you are not used to working. The best part about the workout is the ability to modify the moves to higher intensity or lower intensity. Also, the group sessions are fun the instructor plays fun music, encourages you throughout the workout, fixes your positioning, and creates this group feeling 9"you start together, and you end together"). Highly recommend the workout for people who want to work on strength and balance while also burning calories fast! Looking forward to going again. read more

I've been 3 times and feeling much stronger already. The machines allow you to challenge yourself as much (or little) as you want. They definitely isolate muscles that you wouldn't work otherwise. I definitely recommend this to guys, athletes, or anyone looking to get into shape, stay in shape or augment your usual workout. The instructors are knowledgeable and energetic and know how to (gently) push you to get the most out of a session. The space is great with good light overlooking Upper Montclair center. read more
