This is a decent place to work out…read more The check in process is easy: just scan your Planet Fitness app. Usually there is no wait time for the machines (treadmill, bike) between 3 and 5 p.m. weekdays. I never come here during rush hour, so I do not know what the wait time is then. The place is relatively clean, including the locker room and shower/changing area. Sometimes members do not wipe off equipment or re-rack their weights. Occasionally, there is broken equipment, but they are usually fixed within a few weeks. Staff is polite and respectful, and most members seem nice.

I guess it is overwhelming for the front desk attendants to speak to everyone that come in the door so don't be hesitant join if they don't speak. The Planet is normally clean, and they ask you to help maintain housekeeping by cleaning the machines behind yourself, but some fail to meet that task or abide by the request. At the present time they are offering a promotion for teens 14-19 to work out free. Go by and check it out.

But policies set by management or corporate at this facility basically guarantee this location is on same trajectory as the Dodo bird. Other than the above, terrible quality for a Life Time facility and significantly worse than any other Life Time in NYC and Westchester area. The bumper plates on the second floor look more or less like a dog chewed on them. If you are here to lift weights, just know that the equipment is worse than LA fitness, NYSC, etc. Again, other Life Times have been renovated 1-2x over the past 3 years, if they aren't brand new. This is literally the only one that is like this. The only renovation they did was to remove a basketball coirt to replace with Pickle ball. The squat racks are literally a danger to use if you squat on the second floor if you hit parallel or lower unless you go to the 3rd floor (which typically has classes running) And now that they replaced one basketball court with Pickleball courts, you basically cannot use the basketball court. Unavailable 60-70% of the time to use. Attaching a picture for the reader to judge for themselves. Camp is over? Birthday party. No birthday party? Then its a league game (this one was not as bothersome before as they had the second court and it was not typically the entire day). I understand the need to increase revenue but at this point, this location is milking their members for quality that is worsening with each passing day. The reason this gym also went downhill is because of the influx of those who were going to Syosset and changed because the quality was also going down. I would venture to say Syosset is now the better location. If you have time, checkout Life Time Harrison or Life Time Dumbo. Drastic difference in quality. I hope corporate management changes their tune but its more likely that this facility will continue to increase prices and let the place deteriorate until they close down. Its really a shame. The HIIT cardio warm-up is intense, but it definitely sets you up for the bag work to come later! Wish they had drop in classes, but I understand why they don't if members want to hit their goals. The other members were nice and encouraging as well. Definitely recommend this gym! everything was nice and spacious; bathroom and women's locker room were well maintained. Since I had to put my membership on hold, I had a lot of email communications with that location that documented an extension on my membership. Then when COVID happened the Bellmore location closed down for good. I was told that I would be able to go to any location I want when the gyms reopen and was given an email to reach out to. No one has gotten back to me at all. I should still have had 3 months left to use of my membership. (In addition to my experience, my boyfriends sister was apart of the Franklin Square location and they also closed!!)
