The first time Angi did a great job, however the second time I had to wait for over 30 minutes even with appointment. I removed the nails because I was better off with my natural nails than the set done by them. read more

Akoi Nails - Never been more in love with my nails thanks Hary Boy - Nail Salons Near Me - Garfield, New Jersey

Akoi Nails in Garfield.... Love this place!!! Place is clean and everyone is friendly and attentive. You feel welcomed when you come in because someone is always there to greet you and ask you what service you will be getting today. Kevin and David are my go to guys but everyone is equally great at their craft. I am always completely satisfied with my pedicure and nails..... Even my kids love getting their nails done by these guys. Highly recommended this place!!! read more

Extremely clean and HYGIENIC!! First place ever which provided a plastic cover for the pedicure bowl that you soak...GENIUS!! Most pedi tools were disposable and the rest had been sanitized. Based on this i would have given them 5 stars if it wasnt for the attitudes of the employees. I would avoid this place based on this alone. read more

I was there last Friday for a gel pedicure, it cost me $35. A few days after , the gel polish started peeling off and today, a week later most of them have peeled. So disappointed since gel should have lasted me at least 3 weeks! I would take a pic but my toes look terrible now. I will have to get them done tomorrow. read more

Come here all the time. They do great work but very annoyed. Came in and asked if they had availability was told 10min kept me waiting for 40 (I was understanding because like I said come a lot) only to be told another 20 min. Wasted my time. Very fruatrated. read more

Great salon! Yusvenia does an AMAZING job! She made my nails look perfect after I run Tough Mudder! Highly recommend her.

The Salon looks clean and they seem to have thousands of colors however the wait to get your nails done is ridiculous!!! Their customer service skills are poor. I scheduled an appointment for my sister and I to get a fill in with gel polish (2 weeks in advanced and akoi nails texted + called 3x to confirm our appts-very annoying, once to confirm would have been fine) for 11am ....it was 1:30 pm and we were still waiting, when I asked the receptionist what the hold up was, she just kept yessing me to death and saying "I know how you feel" but did absolutely nothing to help me in my confusion/frustrating state....seems like they dont care about appointments or they do not value clients time....they take who they feel goes next or who they know personally. Needless to say that left a disgusting taste in my mouth and I don't think I will consider this salon again for future. read more

Ive had ups and downs with this nail studio. The owner and his brother are really talented with their work, other than that some employees there are not so great. Ive walked out from there with unshaped nails and not only were they pricey but it took 2 hours to get done. I will only go if I get attended by the owner. I feel like they hire anyone due to short staff. Please improve with nail techs. read more

As a walk-in they were accommodating but the wait was extremely long. The mani/pedi was not the best. Some nail polish remained on my cuticles and the bottom of my feet were not smooth and clean as they should be after a pedicure. The environment was clean and relaxing, wish I would of had a better outcome. read more

this place was really nice but took forever. it took 4 hours for a new gel set & pedicure. when i got home, the polish slipped off of my big toe due to the lady putting so much oil on it. i went back to get it fixed & she put even more oil. which cause it to slip off again. i have prom & i'm wearing opened toed shoes but there's no point to going back if it'll keep happening. my finger nails are really sore due to the lady hitting it multiple times with the electric filer and making me bleed as well. the nails did turn out lovely but i will not be coming bad because they hurt so bad, which never ever happens. read more

Akoi nails in Passaic, nj is a great place. The staff is not only nice but thorough. I didnt feel rushed and they seemed like they enjoyed what they do. Great conversation, an abundant selection, and they explained what they were doing and why. Shout out to Gladys, thanks girl. read more

Akoi nails is the best. They do great designs. The staff is great. I've been with David for awhile now and I love my nails all the time

I've been coming here since their second day being open and I have never loved a nail place so much. They're so professional and friendly and definitely take care of their returning customers. Though there is a wait sometimes, it is totally worth it. Any and all staff there are highly trained and current with nail trends. Won't go anywhere else. read more

SMFH HORRIBLE !! I don't care how good of a job they do at this place their customer service is terrible. I had an "appointment" at 5:30PM for a full set on my toes and hands (madd money from one person alone) I did not leave there until about 8PM w/only my pedi, full set on my toes &one foot polished because the lady got up (without saying anything, no excuse me no one second, no I'll be right back nothing) starts polishing another woman's nails. Like you cannot be serious. I've been waiting here wayyy to long!! They overbook their schedule just to make more money they don't care about customers. They still charged me full price even after telling the owner how I felt. I would never spend my hard earned money at this place again. Don't book someone for a time of you cannot meet it or something close. If I wouldve waited longer to get a full set mani I probably would still be there and it's 10:10PM now. read more

I have honestly had a terrible experience here. I've had my nails done twice, both jobs have not been done very well and over $100.00 later I have no nails on my fingers at all. I got them done the first time with Steven and everything was a charge. Everything was $10 more. He put the acrylic and i told him i wanted short, simple nails, when I asked him to file my nails,  their were to long, nothing fancy just neatening the square shape the tip was already he told me it would be $10 extra for shaping. I didn't want a crazy shape, basic simple shape and after the shaping was done it looked horrible. I then contacted the owner and he had me come back to fix them. I still was not happy. Those came off. I then went back because a friend told me Gabby was the one to see. I made an appointment and when I got there I was not informed until 45 minutes later that she was going to be late. I'm a reasonable person and I know she got an inconvenien  and I can understand that but, please be kind enough to let me know sooner than 45 minutes. I got gel nails, with gel polish & a design. $65.00 and 3 days later I was missing 3 nails and 2 of the others were chipping. Less than 7 days later I was missing 8 nails. I contacted the owner (Kevin)  and when I asked for a refund, Kevin told me that his lawyer is going to contact me and that Garfield cops already know, just because I wanted my money back. Horrible customer service, they don't care about custumers just money. read more

It was my first time coming to this nail salon because it was highly recommend from my cousin. I asked for an full set with gel polish and the lady that did my set did not satisfy the look I was going for. Another technician name thomas tried to fix my my set as much as he could but I was so disappoint due to the fact that I was there for hours and the fact that I payed what I thought was good quality was not. I got the set done a week ago and 4 of my nails fell off. I wouldn't recommend this nail salon to anyone. read more

this is my 5th time coming to akoi i love who they do my nails, but sometimes the lady was rough and cut my skin off my finger a bit but other wise it's a good clean place and they have a variety of colors. they are a little pricey but you get what u pay for. i will continue to come to them read more

After many disappointments in nail salons in NJ I have finally found one I was pleased with. I went in to soak and wrap my nails. David took care of me and provided his professional opinion to what was best for my nails since they're weak. I was satisfied with the outcome and look forward to returning. read more

I'm floored that this salon doesn't have 5 stars. David (salon owner) has been doing my nails for years. I'm super picky and I've never had ANY complaints. Don't let the negative reviews keep you away from a good thing. Everyone has an opinion. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I had the worst experience I've EVER had with a nail salon. The first time I went here it was because it was highly recommended by someone I knew so I decided to check it out even though it was a 40 minute drive for me on the parkway. I made an appointment for a full set of acrylic nails. I showed up at the time of my appointment and was told I had not made an appointment even though I had confirmed it earlier in the week. I decided to wait until someone was available because I desperately wanted to get my nails done. After over an hour of waiting and not being acknowledged by anybody I was finally told someone would take me. I don't remember her name but the person who would be doing my nails was a younger woman and I asked her if she could do my nails a stiletto shape. She said she could but as she started to shape the nail I had my doubts. I didn't say anything because I hoped maybe she would fix the shape as she went along. Not only did she not fix the shape but she proceeded to use A TON of acrylic on the nail. They came out super thick and different widths and lengths. David (who I assume is the manager?) could tell I was upset about the way my nails came out and the long wait so he gave me a card for 10% off my next visit and told me to make my appointment with him next time. I figured I would give the place a second chance. I called to make an appointment with David but he was booked up and I wasn't able to make an appointment with him until three weeks after the time I wanted to. I decided I would just stick it out because his work looked really nice from what I could see on Instagram and I was excited to be getting my nails done by him. Of course my nails grew out very long but I still waited. When my appointment finally came I drove the 40 minutes to the salon and told the girl at the counter I was there for my appointment with David. Then I was told that he had just left because he wasn't feeling well. Um, okay.... I really needed to get my nails done that day because I was going away on vacation and wanted them done before my birthday which was in a few days so I decided to stay and just settle with whoever was available. After a half hour wait someone was ready for me... it was the same girl as last time. I had her just take off the set I had on, paid, and left. I booked another appointment with a different salon as soon as I walked out the door. Ridiculous. Never going here again. read more
