Spicy smoked tako poke using Akemi fish and seafood smoked tako.
    Brenton U.

If y'all are craving some smoked tako, dry aku, or ahi poke, then you should check out Akemi fish and seafood. Their dry aku is on point with a perfect amount of salt and dried just enough. Their smoke tako makes a really nice spicy smoked tako poke, and their ahi poke is alway good too. They have three types of ahi poke which are ahi Masago, ahi limu, and spicy ahi. Neal and his family always take care which is why I keep going back!

Sundays have all of that plus baked goods and a few beverages on the second floor. Many vendors providing samples so that you can try before you buy. My mom was looking for mixed cut fruits, though there's only one vendor with cut watermelon, every one else has whole fruits, and mainly vegetables at their booths. Ample free parking located out front. I stopped by a few of my favorites, one being Dip Into Paradise that specializes in local made butters, jams, syrups, and all kinds of snacks. They don't have a storefront, so make sure you get all your items from them at the farmers market. Or have them shipped to the comfort of your homes; free shipping anywhere in the U.S. on orders of $100 or more. The uncles running the booth are super kind, knowledgeable with their products and very accommodating. I do wish them all the success on their endeavors. Overall, the market is worth checking out, if you're looking for some snacks, fresh fruits and veggies to hold you through the week!

One of my fondest childhood memories is going to Tamashiro Market with my dad…read more When we lived in Kalihi, this was our usual spot. And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

Having been a loyal customer for year's it's i sad to see…read morethe deterioration of the Kaneohe Store. I have noticed the lack of cashiers, only one was present when I went on 2/10/ 2026, & the line was getting long. Customers use self checkout usually when they have not to many items. The man in the managers booth, whom I have seen cashiering before, wasn't moving! What a shame! Management where are you!!! The prices are awful, example : almost $20 .00 for a 24 pack of Diet Coke! Go look around , & check food items out for yourself! The parking lot is always full & it's difficult to get a decent space upfront, unless you go all the way in back of the store near the trash dumpsters. Won't be going to Times Kaneohe any more, unless I need to!

DEALAGES Yo! I…read morereligiously look at the online Times Supermarket ads every Wednesday, but I have to remember to check out da Super Tuesday DEALAGES! I just so happened to come across their Tuesday DEALAGES ad and boy did Times Supermarket really have an AWESOME Tuesday ad! $0.99 per pound for Fuji Apples, $0.79 for a can of Chicken of the Sea tuna (good for making my home lunch sandwiches), and a small poke bowl for just $4.99! Man, I really cleaned house this afternoon as I picked up all three items! Lol! The Kaneohe Times Supermarket is not a store that I would frequent (as I normally shop at the Kaimuki, McCully, or Kahala locations), but since I was working across the street from the Kaneohe store, I'd figure I'd check the Kaneohe store out. The Kaneohe store looked well organized, not overly spacious, but the store appeared well stocked. They even had a section within the store where they had a lot of Asian food items. Variety is a good thing! When I picked up my poke bowl I had to ring a buzzer for service, & a super friendly clerk came out to help me. I wished I had gotten his name, as good service should always be recognized. So happy I stopped by the Kaneohe store today, and if ever am I in the area again, garans I would stop by again for da DEALAGES!

It's not your usual "farmers market" with fresh produce though there are some grab and go treats and even some food trucks/carts which is a wonderful way to take the much needed break or like me to get your day started as your brain still need that help to bloom, but what you'll find are more of a crafted items that are very unique find. I have to admit whenever I need an escape I do absolutely love to browse around the area of the many lots Lokahi Market in Kailua where majority of the lots are shaded and whatever the weather is you're fully covered. Sometimes there are special events like on this day the humane society was there to show the many cuties looking for home and is so touching to see that many was adopted...very sweet! Come down to Kailua and see all the cool various vendors every Sunday from 9am to 1pm on Uluniu Street though as around there are three lots and though there are many vendor that are there regularly there are some pop ups that makes it's special appearance as it's never a dull moment here in Kailua. Thank you!

We had hit the Maguro Brothers in Chinatown and the one in Waikiki along with Ono Seafood a couple of times. Sato is located next to Marugame, both restaurants are popular and busy so lots of people standing around. My son ordered the Hawaiian Munchies which is the Ahi Poke with the crunchies, garlic and soy sauces. He was the only one who was hungry but I took a bite to give it a try. The fish was soft and pretty fresh. A little different spin than the other Poke shops we like but it was pretty good. If you are in the Waikiki area and looking for take-out and something quick that tastes pretty good, drop in at Sato Seafood. As people mentioned, the area is really busy and just a couple of tables outside so best to order it to go. A little bit of a wait but not really too long.
