    Their tent pop up
    Deborah P.

I saw this place on social media one day and told my husband let's try um I know he loves any hawaiian plate that's is so since we was delivering gifts on the other side of the mountain we stopped by. Good thing it wasnt rainy off and on though. Had a pop up tent on the side of the road. Got out and started to order. Their laulaus, gandule rice, squid luau and combo plate. Came back home after 3hrs of traffic going over the mountains and heading to central oahu and fighting the rain and traffic couldn't wait to eat. So we grind. No pictures next time. But at least got to take pictures on the menu board and their pop up tent. The girls serving and plating the food was friendly. The food was tasty. They only open weekends. Some yelpers went but it was about a year or more ago. Good results from them. Stop by if you like the drive way out in the country side.

Service was fast! Really appreciated how quick it was. It is on the side of the road, so not the best ambiance, but it also gave it a fun oldtime local feel. The food was good. Nice and fresh and smelled wonderful. No regrets. 3 for $10

Mao Laulau is amazing! So this small place across the street from 7-11 is so good. All the food is homemade and fresh daily. They make a couple of different dishes but their Laulau is delicious! The mini plate is my go to order. One laulau, rice and spaghetti noodle (like mac salad) on the side. All for $5.00! It's hard to find a meal for this cheap anywhere in Hawaii, but homemade on top of that is just ridiculous! The dollar drinks are good in case you are thirsty, but beware they do run out of food quickly! I will be back to try to pork guisantes, tripe stew, and chicken papaya.

On top of that I still have to cook dinner. This stand is my huge help to get through the week. A break, a relief, a breather when I feel like I'm drowning in everyday responsibilities. It's also an encouragement to keep going because of the workers whom are sisters, husband and wife, mother and daughter, grandchildren all working hard together. Giving great service with a smile on their face and making it through the everyday daily grind together. Type of Food: Buk Buk kitchen serves different Filipino dishes that my mom enjoys but I always come for the tasty, tender, marinated to perfection bar-b-q grilled chicken. A few times they offered Hawaiian dishes and other local dishes. Here and there I mix it a bit and get a combo with the thinly sliced beef. I get the family size which perfectly feeds my boys and I. Yeah, my husband has to fend for himself. It comes with 4 generous scoops of rice, salad, and four cut up pieces of chicken for $12. Locaton: Buk Buk kitchen is associated with Mahiku farmers market. Found them at the former Chi-Chans Okazuya location at Kaneohe. It's for takeout, no tables inside…read more They do have a nice selection of comfort food like pancit, pork or chicken adobo, dinuguan, pork guisantes, lumpia, and desserts as well. They also have packaged snacks they sell too. Greeted immediately by the guys behind the counter, my daughter and I already knew what we wanted, so we got the fried rice adobo, pork adobo and pancit to go. When I say comfort food, after one bite I was brought back to when I was little and my mom making these for us. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their other offerings. It's good to have a Filipino food spot in Kaneohe instead of driving all the way down to the Leeward side. Visit them and try it out for yourselves.

Thinking that there must be Good Grindz there, I made a U-turn and parked behind the truck. YumYum TumTum is usually in Waimanalo (by Bellows), but on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, they're across from The Plaza at Kaneohe. Service is excellent. The two workers in the truck are very personable with the "aunties and uncles". They inform each customer about the ten to twelve minute wait-time since each order is made fresh! Because the Pancit was sold out (and the banana lumpia), I ordered the Garlic Rib Eye Steak... whoa... Da buggah was Beeg!!! I couldn't finish it! Made with the "secret special rub", the Garlic chips and onions were Broke da Mouth! The meat was tender and juicy! I enjoyed the koge edges of charred fat! Mmm! I should have ordered the BBQ chicken skewers, too... and the halohalo... welll... I'll just have to return... And go earlier before the Pancit runs out!!!

What a cool couple…read more.. Happen to find this vibrant trailer parked in the Kailua Shell gas station lot and had to show them some love. It seems like they're very new to the biz as they built their trailer from a flatbed with skill and creativity and it doesn't end there as this couple has thought it all thoroughly even from our beloved shaved ice. With lots of flavors to choose from the Cold Brew caught my eye as it sounds like the perfect midday snack and not too sweet as well. It comes with ice cream which sounds just perfectly amazing but declined because it sounds too heavy along with the choice of topping (chocolate, caramel or condensed milk) or all three lol which I got condensed milk. The shave ice is very fine not thick and chunky and she explained that there's a bit of room around the edge of the bowl as it starts to melt it will for a yummy slushy consistency which it does so it does require both spoon and straw to enjoy it thoroughly. The cold brew syrup is house made and is a nice mellow flavor I enjoyed along side the trailer as there are some shaded benches they provide for convenience. They also make smoked meat and baked goods though they can't sell them out of the respect for the shell station mart but do have them at the Lokahi Kailua Market on Sundays. Come find them and keep your cool right here. Thank you!
