This is one of the best sushi places I've been to. Amazing service and beautiful scenery. Everything here is made fresh. My friend ordered the fried gyoza and that was so delicious that we had to order another plate. It was served steaming hot and the meat was pact with so much flavor. The dipping sauce was well made it has this sweet, but tangy kick to it. It's a must for the meat stick. They marinate it good and the meat was super tender. I also got the Red Dragon and Alligator Roll! Oh my, I love the creation of that roll it's was beautiful and tasty too!! The nigiri here is fresh and doesn't have that fishy smell to it. My family and I ate here yesterday. It wasn't very busy and yet it took our waitress a long time to bring our appetizers, sushi and food. Also the food was warm not hot. We were hungry so I didn't feel like complaining. We even had to ask other servers for refills on drinks. Our waitress seemed more occupied with talking with coworkers then customers. I didn't see any management or I might have said something. I pd over $100. for our food and even tipped her well but I guarantee my family will never return to this location. It seems customer service is not high on their list. Food was good but with bad service that makes dining in not worth it. There's other restaurants more reasonable and better service. read more

This is our go to sushi place in the cypress area! The sushi is always fresh and delicious. Super friendly staff with great service! We love the vegetable tempura. We loved everything about eating at Akashi. The interior decor is beautiful, we were seated immediately, and the service was attentive and efficient. The crab puffs were delicious and the sauce was a bit different (in a welcome way) than what you get at most Chinese restaurants. Miso soup was hearty and generous, sushi - tuna and salmon were fresh and delicious, and the traditional green salad with ginger dressing was superb. Service was great too. I'd been craving some fried rice so decided to give this place a try after looking at the menu on yelp. We ordered spring rolls, chicken wings, combination fried rice without the pork and sweet and sour chicken. I took 2 bites of my rice and could not finish it. It had this nasty greasy after taste. Just terrible. I think maybe they cooked with pork and removed it afterwards...IDK but I wish the waitress was more proactive as I didn't eat it. She just laughed it off and joked I could take it home and put my own spin on it. I was in a good mood so I just played along and didn't send it back.. I hate wasting food and my money so I took it with me. Everything else was just okay. The wings was my favorite, they were crispy and had a good flavor. The decor is beautiful. So disappointed tho, not sure if I'll go back as I already have a spot that's always good. I just wanted to try some place new. read more

This 2 star review is only for the fact that I had a hair in my rice and my meal was not comped. The waiter, William was awesome, remembered everything and exchanged my lunch today for a freshly made one. We have visited Akashi 3 or 4 times and ordered to go 2 or 3 times and it has been really good. Also my husband always orders the General Tso's and his today wasn't as good as it has been. Please have your chef's wear hairnets and continue the excellent quality of your food. And do something to make it right when something like this happens! read more

It was nearly empty even though it was lunch time. Literally no idea how you wait tables see an empty table with closed menus and don't even ask if we need anything or if anyone has been with us after making direct eye contact. Let me start by saying the food was very good. The manager who claimed to be the owner was awful. We will not be going back. My husband and I ordered rolls of which one was calamari. The server switched them and gave me the calamari which I do not like. They looked the same as mine should have been shrimp. My husband started eating the one given to him. I noticed mine was chewy when I started to eat 2nd piece. Told server they were switched and needed to correct it which she did and brought me a new shrimp chef's special crunch roll. When the bill came, there was a charge for the replacement roll. We asked for the manager who argued with us that since we ate the rolls there was a charge and would not remove $10. He said he would have to fire the waitress if it was her mistake which is ridiculous as everyone makes mistakes. He didn't care if he lost us as a customer all over $10! The one star goes to the chefs. Cons: Horrible service to say the least. I've been there five times since they opened. Host (small frame asian girl) doesn't even say hi or acknowledge your presence. Waiters are dazed and confused. They forget what you ordered and charge you for extra things. Conclusion, the place and food is great, the customer service is not. We were incredibly disappointed with our meal here. My husband ate at another location and really enjoyed it. Our server didn't make eye contact with us once until he was clearing our plates. We ordered hot green tea and expected a pot of tea. Instead, we were brought two cups of lukewarm water with tea bags. My husband ordered house special wonton soup which comes in a large bowl. It only had about an inch of liquid in the bottom. His egg rolls were mushy inside. My sushi roll was completely bland and I'm pretty sure it was topped with imitation crab.
