The long wait times (to be expected) between order and installation left plenty of time for me (the house owner and the one who paid) to be informed that a different blind was selected. That was not communicated to me at any point. When the installation team came out is when I found out that it was not what I wanted. Where I have an issue is Kawika pointed the finger at the person present at the consultation for choosing the blinds. He has my number. He has my email. He did not at any point reach out and confirm with me, who set up the appointment and made the payments, the selected blinds is the one I wanted since it was different from what was selected during the consultation. To give credit to Budget Blinds, they have been professional the entire time with a fast install time. When I brought up the issue, Kawika did offer a steep discount. Its the principal of communication in this instance where I have the issue. This is a $5000 mistake that could have been easily rectified if the Budget Blinds team reached out to me to confirm what I actually wanted.

After signing the contract, remitting payment and getting the windows measured, a friend of mine told me to cancel, insisted that he could do the job, so I canceled, which they did without complaint, telling me that they would refund my payment. The next day, they called to offer to fabricate the screens for the project to save my friend time and told me to ask him and get back to them. After a couple of days, I realized that my friend was not going to follow through, so I called Screens and Things back to ask if they could do the job, and they cheerfully reinstated the contract and completed the job. The installers did a superb job -- looks great and they completed everything quickly.
