The guy was super nice, and he said he'd do the test on Wednesday, and they said they'd leave a note on the door when it was completed. They did it a day early, and left the note on the door just like they said. This was exactly the ideal experience in my opinion, so I strongly recommend them!

He was professional and friendly, and after repairing the problem he fully explained it to me, and with multiple cameras showed me the pipes from my kitchen and basement all the way to the city line. Plumbing isn't cheap, but the bill was in line with other plumbing work I'd recently had done. One thing to note for potential customers is the plumber didn't have the option for me to pay by credit card - analog payments only. Just FYI.

My contractor had tried for several hours, but couldn't really unblock it so he suggested calling a "professional". After spending over than $400 more, I guess the outcome is that although water appears to drain, they couldn't unblock it, couldn't get to the street, and that quite possibly water will continue to collect and flood the basement. It might be an adequate charge for what they do, and that the condition of the pipe is bad, but when I had another company try to unblock lines at a different location, they were able to clearly explain what they found (tree roots in the line) and what they'd suggest to really fix the problem and provide an estimate. Therefore, I'd say if I paid a lot of money and it couldn't be fixed, at least I could have expected some good information and direction to solve the problem. This I didn't receive. They were very nice and prompt, though.

I of course then get an email with the invoice for the additional device and finally a few days later I think I was cc'ed on the report sent to the city. Now, if I had been out or didn't check my mail for a while I really could have my water turned off and I think that even affects my credit? That's not good.
