Oh, but you have no idea whether that's this week, next month, 4 months from now - who knows! Not Backflows Northwest. I called them to make sure the rates were accurate, and to get an idea of when they would do the test. The guy was super nice, and he said he'd do the test on Wednesday, and they said they'd leave a note on the door when it was completed. They did it a day early, and left the note on the door just like they said. This was exactly the ideal experience in my opinion, so I strongly recommend them!

The company then billed me over $75 for the test that was never performed. No matter how much I argued or what proof I provided they demanded payment. He arrived same-day, I showed him what little I knew about what was happening, and let him go to it. He was professional and friendly, and after repairing the problem he fully explained it to me, and with multiple cameras showed me the pipes from my kitchen and basement all the way to the city line. Plumbing isn't cheap, but the bill was in line with other plumbing work I'd recently had done. One thing to note for potential customers is the plumber didn't have the option for me to pay by credit card - analog payments only. Just FYI.

Maybe it's because I'm disappointed in the outcome, but I gotta say the bill was quite high and the…read morewritten explanation I received was so poor and had no suggestions for followup work. (Even Doug couldn't understand what Shawn had written when I called to discuss it.) They were originally called to unblock the downspout because the corner of our basement was leaking. My contractor had tried for several hours, but couldn't really unblock it so he suggested calling a "professional". After spending over than $400 more, I guess the outcome is that although water appears to drain, they couldn't unblock it, couldn't get to the street, and that quite possibly water will continue to collect and flood the basement. It might be an adequate charge for what they do, and that the condition of the pipe is bad, but when I had another company try to unblock lines at a different location, they were able to clearly explain what they found (tree roots in the line) and what they'd suggest to really fix the problem and provide an estimate. Therefore, I'd say if I paid a lot of money and it couldn't be fixed, at least I could have expected some good information and direction to solve the problem. This I didn't receive. They were very nice and prompt, though.

After the work was completed, I was told the report would be sent to the city and I would get an invoice later for the work since there was an additional device that needed to be tested. I of course said ok and thought nothing more of it. Fast forward about a month later. I had already forgotten this issue since I was expecting an email. I get a letter from the city saying my test was incomplete and that my water will be cutoff soon. I called back and was told they had forgot to submit the report and they would do it ASAP. There were no mention of the second device cost so I thought maybe they were going to throw it in for free since there was a lateness. I of course then get an email with the invoice for the additional device and finally a few days later I think I was cc'ed on the report sent to the city. Now, if I had been out or didn't check my mail for a while I really could have my water turned off and I think that even affects my credit? That's not good.
