This summer I had AIRE1 Heating and Cooling replace one of my A/C units (see previous review) and that a great decision. Not only did they install the proper size unit, the install was very professional. While inspecting the equipment in the attic, Joe Garcia (The owner) took a lot of pictures of improperly sized and routed ductwork of both systems and gave me a very fair quote to fix everything. Initially, I just had them fix the ductwork on the unit they replaced. Yesterday I had them come back and fix the mess that the builders initial installer made of the the ductwork on the unit that hasn't been replaced yet. It is absolutely a night and day difference in amount of airflow to the two bedrooms that have ALWAYS been hot since the house was new. I used Aire 1 LLC for a couple years, despite some minor frustrations I had with them throughout my time using them. I'm a heavy advocate for supporting small businesses, and will always go to a family owned biz before a chain or larger conglomerate, and signed up for their "club" after their first visit to assist me, paying a monthly fee for white glove service. That being said, I cancelled my "club membership" last year, and will absolutely never call them back for assistance moving forward. Office/Scheduling - I repeatedly had trouble scheduling maintenance with them. If someone didn't answer when I called in, and I had to leave a voicemail, I would never get a call back. I had to be strategic to try and call when I knew someone would answer in real time. There were also at least two times to note where we would schedule a service window, and the technicians would not arrive within that window. One of the times I had to call back in to ask where they were, and they called the techs to go straight to my place next to assist me. The second time the tech called me right at the end of the window to let me know "they were on the way", and I told them not to come because I had other plans I needed to get to after that window and was waiting for them to come earlier. They said they would have the office call me to reschedule, and they never did. I didn't bother calling back to reschedule either, as it was just a check up visit that was offered with the club membership. Services - Every time the technicians came by, they were always very kind and friendly. I have no grievances with the staff as individuals. I first hired them to fix a leak in my A/C vent because the water was not draining through my wall to my bathroom correctly. They installed a motorized pump to force the water over the wall because the original installers laid the inner wall piping over a support beam in the wall, and the water essentially needed to "drain uphill", which was the cause of it coming back out my vent. Shortly after that, my A/C crapped out on me entirely, and I ended up hiring Aire 1 to replace the entire unit, inside my condo and on the roof. The very same day they replaced it, I needed to call them back in a couple hours due to an error that popped up on my (new) thermostat that the unit had shut off. The motorized pump they installed has a failsafe that will automatically shut off the A/C if it's imbalanced in any way as a safety precaution, and the pump was not staying as flat as it needed to be. They re-leveled it, and assured me it would not be an issue again. I ended up having to call them back out a few more times about this issue due to waking up too many times drenched in sweat because my A/C shut off in the night. They finally mentioned they could turn that setting off, so it wouldn't shut the unit off, and that resolved that issue. Final Straw - Last year I started to experience a water leak in my front door frame. This took weeks to diagnose where the water was coming from, if it was plumbing from my unit, from the unit above mine, etc. They finally were able to track the leak down to the drainage tube from my A/C into the wall that they replaced the previous year when installing my new unit. The technician had simply cut the tube 6-10 ft in length, pushing it all the way through the PVC pipe in the wall, thinking that would be sufficient to have the water drain downwards without coming back up. They did not bother to seal the PVC pipe at the end, where the tube was inserted (picture below). They came back, with their brother (since it's a family owned biz), to fix the leak. While they were here, they verbally admitted that they screwed that up and should have sealed that correctly when installing my new unit, and that it was "their bad". Mind you, I needed to submit a home insurance claim to fix this leak in my door frame, and this involved a drying and restoration company, and Aire 1. While everything was covered, I was still responsible for paying a deductible, which I assumed could be reimbursed by the party at fault. Fast forward to now, several months later, and Aire 1 is completely denying fault, and since I have no written admittance because the technician was careful to only admit fault verbally to me in person, I have no grounds to fight their claim. Now this may seem as "retaliation" for this factor, which is a fair and partial aspect of this review, but I assure you everything I've laid out is simply clear and factual to my experience with their services, and I only leave this as a warning for what you could potentially experience working with them. I try to avoid leaving negative reviews, but the way they've been handling things so poorly after I tried giving them chance after chance (amidst all the minor scheduling frustrations as well), I cannot sit idly without sharing my overall experience with them. read more

I had Aire 1 come out and look at my very old air conditioning unit and was happy when they told me that it would make it through another summer. After they looked at my air conditioner, they told me that I would benefit from signing up for their monthly maintenance plan on order to receive priority service if something happened. I ended up getting a new unit through another company and tried for 2 months to get my service plan cancelled. I called over 10 times- left 5 voicemail (and attempted to leave 3 more but the system said voicemail had not been set up), then I spoke to someone 5 other times who did not have "access" to cancel my plan. They told me that I would get an email from their manager the next day once the plan was cancelled. I never got the email and called again (5th time) and the person said it is cancelled. I will find out in 15 days if this is the reality. Lesson- do not sign up for the monthly plan unless you have a lot of time dedicated to trying to cancel. The customer service is severely lacking on the phone end of things. read more

If you could go without AC for 3 weeks due to this company not having parts in stock, then this is the company for you! They also dropped the ball when they scheduled the repair because the part came in. Then called the day of and let us know that the warehouse they use is closed earlier than expected. Sign said 2pm and amber from the front office said they went at 11am and the warehouse was closed. There is nothing they can do for us because they actually do not go get the part when it has been delivered. Only when they schedule for the repair. Now telling us the day before thanksgiving, they will come by on Monday! Called amber back to confirm the name and number of the warehouse and weirdly enough couldn't give that to me to confirm. If I could give no stars. That is what this company deserves. read more

My home warranty sent this company to fix my AC this past August. Joe came by one afternoon as scheduled(later found out he was the owner). He was very kind and informative and I was considering signing up for their maintenance program because of this interaction. He said something that made me feel like he was trying to upsell me but he didn't push it. A week later three guys come out and are going to repair the leak that Joe had mentioned was the issue. After an hour they came and told me they actually can't repair it and they have to order a part. He then attempted to get me to buy a whole new unit instead of replace the part. I declined and they set up a time to come install the new part. A week later Chris from install comes and installs it. Chris was also very kind and did not try to upsell me. He told me he had to send out another guy to do something with my thermostat because the home warranty co bought the wrong part. Cut to this week and Tim comes out and does something to my thermostat and now it's all working great so far. I would say overall I appreciate the reliability of the company but was rather upset that it took two trips out to my house to realize they weren't able to repair the leak and I waited 3 weeks for AC. Don't contact anyone else, this company is phenomenal! Tim came out to my home because my air conditioning system is 16 years old and running way too hard. He explained to me everything that was going on with the unit but at no point attempted to sell me anything. It was my decision to inquire about replacing the unit. Tim explained all the benefits and different options but gave me time to think about and talk it over. I had a number of estimates. Joe, and Tim were able to compete with other estimates I had. I have decided to go with Aire1 due to to honesty, no pressure, price, and politeness of Tim and Joe. This company has lied to me for months. They were scheduled to fix my heater through our home warranty company. They came out, diagnosed a problem, ordered the part (which took 3 weeks to come in), put it in and left. The heater worked 12 hrs. I called again....they came out, diagnosed a different problem, ordered the part....(this time 5 weeks to get the part) They came out, fixed the problem. The heater worked less than 24 hrs. I called again....they came out, diagnosed a different problem, said they ordered the part.....which now almost 4 months later I discovered they NEVER ordered the part and lied to me every week for 4 MONTHS!!!! Then they dropped the job! Now..I live in Prescott and have been without heat since October. Some nights it gets down to 7 degrees. We have been cold!!!!! NO HEAT in our house. THis company lies and does not follow through with any kind of humanity. Do NOT give them your business. read more

I am SO GLAD that we hired Aire1 to replace our full HVAC unit (both heating and A/C)!!! Tim and Joe came to our home in Sedona in December and did a thorough job inspecting our current system, ventilation, and our home's layout and square footage. Together, we determined the best system for our needs and we scheduled the date! Every single member of the Aire1 crew was professional, very personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. On the day of install, the technicians arrived promptly. In fact, they called about 30 minutes in advance to let me know they were on their way. Folks, I gotta tell ya, Chris and Casey, our technicians, were truly wonderful! Our old system was 38 years old, on its last legs and the ventilation was initially put in weird at build time. Because of the issues with our home, Chris and Casey stayed and persevered to around midnight! They made sure we knew everything about the system and when checking the old wiring for issues, they found a huge HVAC unit up in our attic that no one knew was there! Post-install, the system worked great. However, it was incredibly loud in the home and it was determined that the compressor came bad from the manufacturer. The manufacturer wanted Aire1 to fix the compressor but Joe (the owner of Aire1) said, "No, this is a new compressor and it needs to be replaced with a new compressor." I won't go into the nitty gritty details but, Joe, really went to bat for us with the manufacturer and won!! Aire1 came up to Sedona from Chandler and corrected the issue!! Every person that we dealt with at Aire1 was fabulous. Oh, and they're incredibly honest and the pricing is good. My nephew back East is an HVAC guy so I relied on him about the pricing and package and he said that Aire1 was spot on! Folks, if you have heating or A/C issues, it would be crazy to go anywhere other than Aire1!! read more

They were sent out by my home warranty company beginning of March because no heat was coming out of my upstairs system. They checked the system and claimed they "fixed" it for now but that it really needs to be replaced because the compressor is barely working and the temperature differential is very low. They said they have never seen the warranty company replace HVAC systems in the time they've done work for them but they would replace for me. He then gives me a quote. I told them if I had to replace on my own I have a great company I always work with. He says Oh we will beat their quote. (He gave me a quote for $2k more for a lesser system than my company ended up putting in)The next day we turned the heat on and cold air continued to blow out. Called Aire1 back and they sent someone out. They were here a couple hours and said again it needs to be replaced because it's so old the compressor is barely working. This they weren't wrong about, but they gave false temperature differentials to the warranty company claiming it was working which of course then makes the warranty company deny. I had the company I've used fir years come out, they sent their most experienced guy of 21 years out and he even showed me the temperature differentials on the meter hooked up to it. No heat came out and no cold came out just air! And yet Aire1 claimed the system was working and reported that back to my warranty company. Very dishonest, and a scam to get me to use them to put in a new system. They pushed that very much that they are good and do good work blah blah. If they were good they would have reported to my warranty company the truth. read more

Aire1 LLC has been assigned as first contractor by my home warranty company to fix my heating issues. The technician (AJ) diagnosed the unit to overheat and therefore shutting down. As root cause, a dirty inside coil was identified and we were shown supposed pictures of the inside (though in retrospective those must have been pictures of someone else's unit, as explained further below). Since it is considered maintenance, I would have had to leash out $250 or almost $600 if I also wanted to have the blower fan "cleaned". While I have heard of units accumulating a lot of dirt causing reduced efficiency, I could not believe this being a problem with my unit and had independent technicians look at the problem. As it turns out, the inside coil was in perfect condition with no dirt that would have explained the unit shutting down due to overheat. In fact, it was assessed that it was an electrical problem with one of the fail-over switches going bad and tripping prematurely. I am really disappointed by such an apparent attempt by a supposedly reputable company to trick homeowners into paying for unnecessary services out of their own pocket. I would in no way recommend Aire1 LLC to anyone based on this experience. YMMV, but be aware and cautious when a company asks for services not covered. Companies in general should not try to take advantage of potentially unaware customers. This is truly poor business practice and deserves to boycott this company. read more
