I called them and the soonest they could see me was Monday. I wound up on Yelp. I contacted a different HVAC company on Yelp but Yelp sent my information out, and Alan with HM Tech responded. Meanwhile I was reading a lot of reviews and getting a lot of answering machines and "see you Monday" appointment calls. As my inside temperature kept rising, I finally called Alan back, told him my problem, and asked how much a service call was and when he could be at my house. He told me the service call was $85 and said he could be here in a couple of hours (again, on a Saturday). He was here just about exactly when he said he would be, and he went right to work outside. By then my temperature inside was at 86 degrees. After maybe 20-30 minutes, Alan said that the fan capacitor and the compressor capacitor were both out and would need to be replaced. I asked him what that meant, if he had them, etc. He said yes and gave me a quote. I gladly approved the work. By about 3 o'clock, maybe a minute or two after, the work was complete. The invoice including his service call fee was under $400. (Again - on a Saturday.) While I don't wish for more HVAC problems, it's good to know I'll be able to rely on someone who is , honest, responsive, and very professional. I enthusiastically recommend Al's work!

They came out, but instead of simply diagnosing and addressing the issue, they had her wait while they spent roughly 45 minutes sitting in their van putting together three "proposals." The options started at about $1,000, with a second option around $2,000 and a top-tier option around $3,000. As I recall, the $3,000 proposal included replacing the toilet, while the first two were various levels of "repair." That seems like an awful lot of money for what turned out to be a bad wax ring damaged during a flooring install. I have since removed the toilet myself, replaced the wax ring, and everything is fine. No major repair was needed and certainly no $1,000-$3,000 solution. No wonder their address is on "profit dr." If this company isn't private equity-owned, they're sure doing a good impression of the private-equity playbook: upsell aggressively, present multiple expensive options, and turn a simple repair into a major sales opportunity. What a rip-off. Get a second opinion before agreeing to anything. Buyer beware.

Do not recommend. Very disappointed…read more Our AC stopped working, and this company charged us $1,600 on July 8th to clean the unit. After the cleaning, it only worked for an hour or two before stopping again. We had multiple technicians come out over the next week, and each time we were given a different explanation. We were eventually told we needed a 17,000 replacement unit. We got a second opinion, and another HVAC company came out, reset the motor in about 10 minutes, and our AC started working again. We went nearly two weeks without air after paying $1,600 for a service that did not fix the problem. We have tried contacting management, but our calls have not been returned. Very disappointed with the service, communication, and lack of accountability. We do not recommend this company.

While he was at our place, I asked him a question about the airflow on the other side of the house and he was able to check it out for us and mentioned that one of the airvent boot was smaller than expected and that's why it wasn't blowing out much air in the room. Overall, pretty happy with the service. There was no fee to get a technician out to get an estimate and to assess problems like other places I've contacted. Pedro was nice, friendly, and was able to address concerns.
