Had a tech come over for a summer tune up on a new construction. Didn't have shoe covers and had to ask him to take off his shoes He poke two holes in the vents to measure the temperature difference. What the heck. Go down to the vent and measure the difference versus making holes in the new vents. He blew a fuse on the unit and had to get it new one He dirtied and damaged the paint on the ceiling. To clean the condenser, he just used a blower. Other companies wash it down. These guys are awesome! This review is long overdue but I want to express my thanks and share the great experience I had with Air Services Mechanical. Last summer, my mother's AC unit was having problems cooling her house. Her York system was just outside of the 10 year warranty and according to the HVAC company that she had an expensive service contract with, the unit was unrepairable. To our surprise, they said the whole system needed to be replaced, not just the condenser which had a bad coil. After receiving bids from two separate contractors, both who wanted to replace everything at 13-15,000 dollars, I called Air Services. I found them on the York website as a recommended and authorized dealer in our area. From the moment I called, I knew I was in good hands. Sandy was so personable, she understood the problem and offered to send someone out right away. She assured me that they are an honest company, and they will not "fish" me, like some of the other guys. It was the busy time of summer, and they were in the middle of a big commercial job, but Sandy managed to fit me in, and scheduled Tim to come right away. Tim was awesome. Within a short time, he had diagnosed the problem, and within hours we had a solution. Over the next couple days, Tim worked with his suppliers and found us a New Slimline Condenser, offered us a special deal to install a very slightly dented unit with full warranty. He even went out to the distributer to send pictures of the condenser for our approval. Air services had saved us over 11,000 dollars. On top of that, Tim reconnected ducting in the Attic that the other guys wanted to outsource and charge us, he updated the power we had coming to the unit, serviced the existing equipment, and got us going within a few days. Flash forward to today. Everything has been working great. With the summer approaching and a service coming up, I thought of the awesome people at Air Services. We have been trying to get our heater fixed for about a month. We had the home owners warranty company, Platinum Heating from First American Title come and that was a complete joke. I called air services (after calling 2 other companies and getting service dates of over 2 weeks!) and they were able to get a tech out to me within a few hours. Our central heating went out on Christmas Eve, it was cold! I called several HVAC companies to get quotes. The company that did the last service on my furnace/AC wanted over $19,000, so I kept getting quotes. I called Air Services, getting their phone number from the York website. I talked with Tim. He was very knowledgeable about about HVAC systems in general. I decided to stay with York. They have the features I want. Tim put together a "top of the line" system for me. This included central forced air furnace included replacing the air conditioning coil/condenser and all the ducting in the attic with R8 ducting which has thicker insulation. With tax and installation, he was THOUSANDS of dollars less, even with the upgraded system. Tim and Erylen came to my house and did a excellent installation. They were very careful of my property. The had shoe covers masked and covered all my stuff with plastic sheeting. He thought the furnace would fit through the opening in the attic, but he had to cut the opening to make it fit. After this the attic access door would not fit. He called a construction team he works with to repair the opening. They came and cleaned up the saw cuts, framed the opening with nice wood molding and made a new door. They painted it white to match the closet. They did a beautiful job. Air Services covered the cost! Tim is a perfectionist. He crawled up in the attic multiple times, installed air dams and adjusted them to make sure there was equal air flow through all the vents. I did exactly as previous posters had done & found these folks on Yelp. I chose them because of their 5* reviews and proximity to my mobilehome on the coast. Reb called back quickly and came to my home after finishing the job he was on. I asked for an estimate to rework ducting, and he cheerfully slithered into a very small crawl space opening...an area so tight that he got stuck for a few minutes when trying to get out. Afterword he turned the heater on to test the airflow. It wasn't until then that I found out that the heater wasn't even working. He fixed it right then & there by testing wires, connections and then taking the carbon monoxide exhaust fan assembly apart, freeing the shaft and putting it back together...all for no charge! Did he earn my duct work business? Yes, but I'll have to do some asbestos abatement first. He deserves an A+. read more

I called this company because I saw the great reviews on Yelp. The other repair companies I called charged for an estimate and just to tell what the problem is. This company didn't charge. Reb had someone available to come look at the air conditioning unit the next day. Santiago came and was very professional and friendly. His diagnosis of the problem was exactly what we thought it was (we researched first on how an air conditioner works). He didn't try to tell us we needed a new unit or tell us we needed something that we didn't. He also showed us how to properly turn the unit on/off. We had been doing it wrong all these years. WOW! Honest Guys is the right name for this company. I think I've only taken the time to write a yelp review twice ever and there was no question that I was going to take the time to write this one. Here is my experience in a nutshell: 1. I called Reb 24 hours ago and my AC is already fixed. 2. They came out to assess & diagnose the problem at NO CHARGE. Most other companies charge a minimum of $95 3. Frank was awesome, explained everything, found the problem right away, and had it fixed within 45 minutes. He even gave me tips for how to use and maintain the AC with the most efficiency. 4. and MOST IMPORTANT. I was told by another company (who took forever to schedule with and required multiple visits) that they would need to replace the entire unit for $4000 (after paying them $95 to diagnose the problem). The Honest Guys fixed it for $450! These guys have earned my business from here on out! I am one happy customer! read more

They are amazing. My Air stopped working last week. On Friday I called them to schedule a time to come out. Tim was able to come out that same day with in 2 hours. Tim and Nicole was so kind and polite. I had called other places but they all wanted to charge about $99.00 to come out. For me since I rent I was not sure if my landlord would fix the problem and I did not want to be out $99. I know that if the cost was too high that my landlord would not fix. Tim is a life saver!!! My husband called him today to see if he was available to check out our AC, come to find out he was on his way home but decided to still stop by our house to check it out at no cost. We found out that a fuse went out so he changed it at no cost. Before leaving he tested everything to make sure it was all working properly and ended up finding out that our transformer was fried as well as the circuit board. He replaced the transformer right away but the circuit board he needed to order. Tim was able to get my AC up and running in the meantime and will be returning after he receives our circuit board to install it. Turns out a cable outside our AC unit was burnt because it wasn't installed properly, which caused the fuse and circuit board to fry after a while. All for reasonable pricing!!!!! Everyone else was charging a price to just come and diagnose the problem (as I figured) but he didn't. I'm just happy my AC is working now!. To Whom It May Concern, Reb visited our condo in Carlsbad on Tuesday 2/25/14 to assess the leak coming from our air condition/heating vent. He came to the preliminary conclusion that we only needed more insulation, and so he added it. The charge was $85. He also advised that if this didn't work, he'd have to come back and remove everything to flush it out, etc. Unfortunately, not more than 2 days after we had him over, the leak returned. So we called and the voicemail box was full, so we were not able to leave a message. We finally got through on Friday and left a message (2/28/14), with no return call. I left another message on Sunday 3/2/14, still no return call. Meanwhile, we have a bucket collecting the leaking water in our hallway for a week now. I am very disappointed in the service we have received. The job is incomplete as far as I'm concerned, and we can't even get a call back. We don't mind paying for the service (that is not the issue), but it is extremely frustrating to be avoided when a problem with the initial service arises. Their Yelp postings were so exemplary, which is the reason we chose their company in the first place. Not true for us unfortunately. read more
