Hudco came in clutch for me. I was referred to them by my brother. They came out and diagnosed my AC (honestly) and had no issues when I told them I was going to try to use my home warranty first. I was able to use their assessment against my home warranty (sent out a low rate company that try to misdiagnosis the problem)...and for that reason, their honesty, patience and promptness I took a lower payout from my home warranty and gave them the job! What a GREAT surprise! My 80's home is equipped with what I believe to be the original dual air conditioning units. As the temperature began to rise this June, the upstairs system failed. I braced myself for the worst case scenario, anticipating I would need to replace both units. Doug from Hudco came out, evaluated the problem, researched my units and located a new compressor motor. Our AC quit cooling yesterday late afternoon. We called HUDCO, INC. in Yucaipa this morning and they were out here early. Phil Smits, the owner, took a look at our 10 year old unit, and was able to get the part we needed, and installed within a of couple hours. AC now works great! We've used Hudco for years, mostly to service our 30 year old forced air HVAC system. They're fast, efficient, and honest.

Our AC unit went out and they were able to come same day. The staff is amazing from Jackie on the phone in the office to the technician they sent out named Kico. Kico was professional but personable and super super knowledgeable. He came in and I turned on the unit and he knew what the problem was in seconds based off my hall light flickering. He fixed it very fast and then also gave me tips on maintenance and how to maximize our airflow throughout the house. He was super informative and it was really helpful to me and greatly appreciated. Kico is an AC GURU!! I'm a Hudco fan for life and I highly recommend them for all your AC and heating issues. Very reasonably priced too so you won't hurt after they leave either. read more

First of all I can't say enough good about this Co. We called on Fri and Monday morning, Doug came to our house and went over everything we needed to install a new swamp cooler. Priced very reasonable.Had cooler installed very next morning.While his crew was installing the cooler he saw a break in the cable, which he took apart the electric box and found bare wires.He went back to the shop and installed new box.If it was not for the professionalism of the man our house would have burnt down.The crew was very curtious The owner even stopped by later that day. Hudco installed my system in 2014, my air was not working so I contacted them and they came out August 2. They diagnosed it, he was very nice and reassuringly told me they would take care of me, it was their system and they would contact me when they can come out to actually fix it. I contacted Hudco on two occasions as time passed and I hadn't heard anything (both times spoke to a rude receptionist that, "didn't have my paperwork" or "I was at the bottom of the stack" or my favorite, "I don't know who gave you the impression that we would be contacting you within a week or two"). TO THIS DAY- August 28th Hudco has not contacted me. I do not know why others have had such good luck with Hudco, I wish I would have considering they are the installers of our system. Kiko came out and with 1 device tested the vents and discovered a high CO content and said that we had a crack in the heat exchanger. I asked him how he knew without taking apart the system and he said "Trust me, I guarantee you". His estimate was $4-5K for a total replacement of the whole heater. But a quote would be sent. For a 2nd opinion I called another company ,they came out and attached several pieces of equipment, found the problem and fixed it inside of 30min all for $90!!! read more

This company is a fraud. Preying on Seniors. Doug, owner of HUDCO came to my next door neighbors house and gave an estimate of almost $1,900.00 to completely replace a six year old swamp cooler. My neighbor, an old man on oxygen, could not get up on his roof to see what Doug had described. After Doug left, I went up on the roof to see what was the problem. A swamp cooler has a water pump ($30 @ Home Depot), a motor ($35.00 on Amazon) and a fan belt ($8.00 at Home Depot) Nothing else that can break and cost any where near $1,900.00. When I got up there, the motor was UNPLUGGED. That's it. I plugged it back in and the A/C worked just fine. SHAME ON YOU! Can you say Senior Fraud? read more

In December 2019 I had a heater quit working on a rental house in Yucaipa. We didn't yet have a 'regular heater person' in the area, so based on a reference from my plumber, I called Hudco. The guy came out, and for $90, told me the gas valve needed replaced, and it would be an additional $400 for the part and labor. (Now, I know what a gas valve looks like, and that seemed high.) I told him I'd call back if I wished to schedule it. A Corona based company I've used for my home said they wouldn't have charged more than $300 for the diagnostic, part & labor (except they don't go that far). So why should I pay Hudco $490? The Corona guys ordered me the part, and said it was simple enough that any handyman could put it in (and there were YouTube videos if I wanted to do it myself). I will not be calling Hudco in the future. read more

Our AC unit is 40 years old, but it hadn't really been used much prior to my wife and I buying our house a couple years ago. Our unit suddenly stopped blowing cold air a couple days ago and I set up an appointment with Hudco. We just finished some major renovations on the exterior and interior, and two different contractors told us we needed to replace the entire HVAC system. It had been working just fine for the couple years we've been there, and didn't have the money after our renovation to do anything with the HVAC. I told Vinnie this, and said it's not an option for us to replace the system at this point. He said not to worry, that he'd look at it and that he'd just fixed a heater that was built in 1947. As it turned out, it just needed a new capacitor, so he replaced it and we were back up and running in under an hour. Very happy with the work, and glad Vinnie didn't tell us the same thing we keep hearing from other contractors who aren't being up front with us. read more

They came out same day at no extra cost, checked my concerns, and when it turned out to be a ridiculously minor issue (dead batteries in my thermostat), the owner Doug still spent time giving helpful advice on energy saving and showed me how his WiFi thermostat works because I worry about the AC breaking while I'm out, which would kill my English Bulldog. I had Sanborn's West Coast come to my house and they tried to charge me $685 to replace a heater furnace motor. When I ask the service tech how long it will take to replace the motor, he said about 30minutes. Which lead to me asking how much I was paying in labor, he wouldn't tell me. He said his boss has surveyed the area and their prices are competitive with everyone in the area. He followed up by saying the pricing is based on running a business and all the costs associated with it. I paid the service charge ($69) and asked him to leave. What kind of business refuses to provide an itemized quote (cost of labor and parts). I called the office the next day and they supported the technicians response by saying they don't itemize there repairs. And, this has never been an issue in the past. Alert....Mr. Sanborn, consumers aren't stupid, very dishonest. I had Hudco come out the following week and they fixed my heater for $80. My filter was dirty and the control board wouldn't allow the fan motor to turn on. I had them replace the filter and heater is working great. I would recommend Hudco, very honest. The unit we have is over 25 years old but the Technician was able to repair it rather than try to sell us a whole new system. On top of rude behavior and name calling, she also said that people need to basically deal with it because of the companies popularity and desirability. TERRIBLE EXPIERENCE!!!! After 2 unsuccessful attempts to fix one of my ac units and being charged an additional Capacitor + New Thermostat (Being told this would in fact fix the unit), I called the office and left a message. When I called to follow up I was told by 'Jackie' that I never called or left a message and that I need to fix my phone because I made a mistake. Her boss Doug called me a few hours later to tell me he had heard my message, earned it and returned my call and left a message (I never had a missed call or message from Doug) and when I told him I never had a message or missed call he proceeded to tell me it was not his fault and he didn't have time to be "calling and calling and calling and calling and calling until he gets a response." I immediately told him I did not like his tone nor was their any need to be rude and condescending, that I was his client and did not think it was fair to pay 4 hours of a master technicians job and not have found a solution. He said his tech just said its probably rat infestation (we do Not have rats) or probably a power problem... but He wouldn't be able to tell until he saw it and that would cost additional funds. Trick me once shame on you trick me twice shame on me... 3 times! Ya I don't think so. We proceed to argue as I was upset with the situation but thats the gist of it. WE WILL NEVER BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER AGAIN!!!! Overall I called to fix an issue which got out of hand, a simple APOLOGY it what this Business needs to learn. Don't Support RUDE business owners like these people or people who assume they are above mistakes because they have a busy schedule. If I could I would leave zero stars. The receptionist Jackie was rude, and acussed me of harassing her when I called to confirm prices. The phone connection kept dropping so I had to call serveral times. Doug insinuated that I was an idiot cause I asked him questions regarding the AC unit. Then Jackie tells me to go somewhere else.
