With a cold front moving in, I decided to test the furnace to make sure it would keep us warm. Unfortunately, the test failed. After contacting a larger HVAC company, I did a quick search on Yelp for a local company and found Air One Tech. I was able to make an appointment later that afternoon for a 3 hour window--much shorter than the day long appointment suggested by another company. Air One Tech's rate was also significantly less than the other company. Dariush arrived within the window and was able to solve the problem within a half hour. He cycled the system a few times to ensure that everything was ok. He was polite and efficient and charged only the standard rate, no additional fees. The work is guaranteed for 30 days so if the problem pops up again, they'll set up another appointment with out charging. Just as it was starting to get cold, my heater began acting up. Air One Tech came after work the next day (so I didn't need to take off from work). Darius was on-time, professional, and very knowledgeable. It didn't take him very long to figure out that the circuity to my gas valve was worn out. He ordered the replacement part right then and there. He also stayed a bit longer and answered a myriad of questions we had. We really appreciated his candor and expertise. When the replacement part came in, he worked around our schedule and came back in the evening so I didn't have to take off work. I felt pretty bad because he had to work later into the evening, but he said it was no trouble at all. He even called to follow-up a couple of days later to make sure everything was working well. Best HVAC contractor I have ever met! I have lived all over the country and have used HVAC contractors for everything from a minor repair to a complete system replacement. Darius at Air One Tech is BY FAR the best I have ever come across. I called him on a Saturday afternoon and was lucky that he was nearby. He came right over. I was completely convinced that I would need to replace my 20+ year old system. After I explained the problem he said that he was confident that he could repair the problem. He repaired the faulty component on the spot and I actually had to convince him to perform a preventive maintenance on the whole system - I point this out because I was pleased that he didn't even attempt to sell me additional services. He did the maintenance on the system and it now runs better than it ever has! I am a very picky consumer, and I will never use another company for my HVAC services again! My review is way too late, but better late than never. Last July, my AC was not cooling down my place, so I called Air One Tech based on my friend's recommendation and stellar Yelp reviews. They diagnosed the issue and came back to replace the compressor of my AC unit and another missing part, piston, which caused the compressor to be shorted in the first place. They were professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. I felt I could trust them with an expensive repair. The owner was there when replacing the compressor and also called later to make sure the AC was functioning as it should. Classy owner and company. In short, the first company wanted to charge me $1335 to replace a TXV...so I decided to get a second opinion/quote from Air One Tech (thanks Yelp). Their first visit was the same conclusion as the first company...the TXC had to be replaced (they were a little cheaper than the first company)...but unlike the first company, Dariush (the owner) proactively sought a possible solution which would be considerably cheaper than replacing the TXV. If it didn't work, he would apply the charge to replacing the TXV. Given my history with AC companies, I was skeptical, but decided to go for it. Well guess what - it worked! I literally saved several hundred dollars thanks to AOT and their extra effort...they now have a loyal customer for life. AOT is different...your gut will know they are honest and fair. After my Go To Heating and Air Co. was unavailable on an early Saturday morning, I called Air One Tech after reading the reviews on this site. Darius, owner, CEO, and Technician, already on another job, said he could fit me in the same day. Said blower motor was limping along and could go out at any time and that I could schedule a full repair within 30 days with no additional service fee....just parts and labor. He was right, blower failed within two days ironically during the coldest recorded temps in VA history. Reagan National was 7 degrees. My home was a balmy 42 in the morning. Dariush fixed my furnace a few weeks ago when it was still cold. He came to my house earlier than expected, and he waited for me to come home for about half an hour! He found out that the control board of my furnace was not working, and he had to order the control board from the manufacturer and came back to my house to replace it. We started off with a scheduling mistake where they had us down for the following week instead of the day we had agreed to by email. This company gives fair pricing and fantastic service no matter the size of the job. They have installed two Nest thermostats for me with no problem. They do not waste your time or money with service that is not necessary (Nest non-customer service). They are willing to work with you around your schedule. In both cases I bought the thermostats and they didn't have a problem installing them (a couple of others I called insisted I pay for the thermostat through them). I plan to put in another thermo (absolutely not Nest, but that is a different review) for my second heating zone and maybe a video doorbell this fall. A technician from Air One Tech responded to my request today for annual maintenance of our aging air-conditioner. The technician was punctual, very professional, and highly proficient. Without prodding (often unusual for servicemen) he immediately put booties over his shoes to protect the floors and carpeting. He spent a fair amount of time cleaning the system (I had not had it maintained in several years) and gave very useful advice on its age, likely useful life, and best practices for maintenance. I liked his use of an I-Pad for billing and immediate electronic receipts. He also provided by e-mail a narrative summary of the visit and his findings. It was a very positive experience and I will certainly use Air One Tech in the future for heating/air-conditioning service and equipment. read more

We had a gas leak and the gas company thought we may have to replace the thermostat/gas valve of the water heater. I took photos and sent them to Air One Tech, which they appreciated, and thought they likely wouldn't have to do that, but that the pipe connection was broken. They came out and fixed the pipe connection (cracked seal) and the leak was fixed. It was $120 total. Very polite, explained everything, fast service. The blower on our A/C unit stopped working on Sunday afternoon. After seeing the reviews for Air One Tech, I requested an appointment. In 20 minutes I received a response that he could come out Monday afternoon. On Monday morning, I received a call from Dariush saying he had a cancellation and could be out early if that worked for me. He was at the house in 30 minutes, diagnosed the problem as a broken motor. He checked to see if he could get one, gave me the price and was back in an hour to install. By noon, the unit was back to working. Dariush did a great job explaining everything to me, checked on warranty information and even did a courtesy pressure test (which came out fine). Look, I don't give this 5 star rating out lightly. I have never had a good experience with a contractor until now. The owner of the company was honest, didn't try to up-sale me, and didn't try to pressure me to make a decision on the spot when I received the quote. I had four quotes completed as I was replacing my AC unit and I had issues with all of the other three. At least one out right lied to me and when I called him on it he stood by the lie and tried to convince me I was wrong. I verified all of the information Air One Tech gave me with a relative in the HVAC business, who unfortunately for us, operates in another part of the country. All of the information he provided was accurate and he was really, really gracious in answering every question I sent his way during this process.
