I scheduled an appointment with Air One after my heater wouldn't start and my AC would shut off after running for just one minute on high. Fardeen was the technician who came to my home. After a lengthy diagnosis, he told me the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacement, and there were a few other issues I didn't fully understand. He recommended a complete replacement of the HVAC system and arranged for a salesperson to discuss new system options with me. I asked for an estimate to repair the system and a copy of the diagnosis report detailing his findings. He said he would send it later due to poor internet connection. I paid the $98 diagnostic fee. Given that replacing the entire system is a big investment, I scheduled Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion. Their technician found and replaced some burnt wiring in the furnace and fixed a capacitor that had been incorrectly installed in the AC. This got both the AC and heater working again. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Air One. They seemed more interested in selling a new system than resolving the actual issues or may not have had the expertise to fix the problems that Bluestar was able to handle in a single visit. When the choice is a new unit, always get a second opinion ! P.S. I got a call from the office manager offering to refund the $89 diagnostic fee if I take the review down. I declined. read more

My experience with Air One began with mold in my old hvac system. I had it remediated by a company, but they only handle ducts and vents. So, I called Air One to inspect my furnace/central air handler. Sean and Tyler arrived, carefully listened to my description of what was going on, and then performed an inspection of the entire unit, including the outside fan unit. Sean worked up a quick estimate of cleaning and repair and talked me through what they were seeing. After dealing with mold, I wanted a fresh start. And after just a short amount of time with Sean and Tyler, I wanted to work with this company. Sean called Jack, a managing partner, who came over that afternoon to go over the options. Jack took a look for himself, measured everything necessary, and then laid out the options. He was very genuine and didn't try to sell me on any particular unit, he just wanted me to comfortable with what I was selecting. A few days later Elmer, Jose, and Andres arrived right at 8am for a day long install. They were meticulous professionals, working quietly and efficiently. Considering how much was being removed and replaced, I had assumed it would be a loud day of drilling and metallic banging, so I was stunned when halfway through the day I took a peek and saw that the old unit was gone, the new one was already in place. Their cable management was pristine, every single cable and cord was carefully routed and secured. It was a great experience with Air One Tech, who I will now have on a 2x year maintenance contract to keep everything running great (and also stay one step ahead of any future mold issues). 5 Star! read more

Darren was the technician who came and listened to the diagnostics that I had done to date narrowing down what I thought was the issue. He did a complete review of the system itself since it is an older system, and gave me his thoughts. As a first time homeowner, I knew literally nothing about HVAC systems and I appreciated that Jack took the time to explain the options to me and spent the time to provide a thorough estimate. He never tried to up-sell me on anything. When we approved the quote, they were able to schedule installation in less than a week. The installation techs were very respectful of my home, completed the work as quickly and quietly as they could (as I work from home), and explained the system to me after they installed it. We had an issue with our circuit breaker so the first night the system shut off, but they had someone out first thing the next morning within 30 minutes of when we called them to fix it and were able to fix the electrical issue within a few hours. Because of my good experience in 2018 I called them again a couple of months ago, to look at a boiler. This review is in appreciation of the professionalism and timeliness of response by Darius and Air One Tech. A few days ago, I arrived home to one of my AC units not working -- in 90+ degree weather. This issue required immediate attention as I house a senior citizen with myriad health issues. I called Air One Tech at 8:42PM and the owner answered the phone and told me he would be out to take a look at the unit first thing in the morning. Dariush arrived promptly at 7 a.m., and not only did he efficiently diagnose the issue, he corrected the issue on the spot and was able to get my unit up and running in under 1.5 hours. He had all the parts needed to fix this issue on his vehicle -- I'm so used to hearing "I don't have what I need to fix this, I will have to come back," that it was quite the relief once I knew I wouldn't have to burn another day off work for a return visit. Not only did he come armed with a sizable inventory of common parts and equipment, he also proved to possess a wealth of knowledge and carefully explained everything he was doing. Additionally, I was amazed at how courteous he was in ensuring that every area of my home in which he worked was thoroughly cleaned up afterwards and how mindful he was of my home and my property. Dariush is awesome!!! He is the owner of the company. He personally came out and gave me a quote. Now, he will be the first to tell you that Trane is the best equipment. It is. I received 4 other quotes that were similar in price but not Trane. Also, I could tell Dariush took pride in his company, I could trust him, he didn't try to oversell me on anything. I could also see that he actually cares about his clients. I went with Air One Tech because the price was right, the equipment is was the best and he was not far off from the 4 other quotes. I can't say enough of how pleased I am with him, his company, my new a/c and furnace and his team who installed everything. It's taken me some time to write this review because I wanted to put some effort into it. I would say go with Air One Tech to anyone and the quality of Trane is far superior than some of the others. I have done my research and I am very pleased and confident in my decision to go with Dariush and Air One Tech. I have seen a carrier system and some others you can tell how well Trane is made compared to them. I would not recommend skipping out on quality for a 15-20 year system that will last with Air One Techs maintenance and Trans warranty as opposed to a 10 year system for a few hundred dollars. That's really what the difference was. Additionally the other quotes I got you could tell it was just some salesman sort of selling their company's product. They provide little explanation and gave few options. Dariush is extremely thorough, has a background in engineering and will sit down and work with you. Unfortunately the system was shot (no surprise for a 20+ year old system), so we purchased a new one. The owner even stopped by on Wednesday with a portable AC to get us through, and they were at our house with the new system ready to install that Thursday at 8am! (Yes, you read that correctly. The new system was being installed within two days of our initial call). The install went very well. The guys were professional, knowledgeable, and worked very clean. The owner is very responsive and incredibly knowledgeable. We had the team of Angelo and Amir come out and service and repair our heating/AC system and another time to replace our hot water heater. Used Air One for a full HVAC replacement in May 2022 - they not only provided a lower price than my other quotes, but Dariush walked me through the process and was prepared with visuals with a binder. Fast forward to Dec 2022 and my unit had an issue (no fault of Air One, manufacturer defective part). Air One came out that day (Friday) to diagnose, ordered the part, and installed on Monday. This all was covered under the warranty. They are professional, responsive, and use technology that texts you when the tech is on the way and provides their location on a map. I needed a chemical cleaning of the exterior coil and a regular maintenance checkup and Daniel was top notch. He was professional, courteous, and friendly. He wore a mask and stayed 6 ft from me whenever we had to interact. I am very happy with my service, except he said he would check to see if there was a discount on the yearly maintenance fee since I have electric baseboard heat for the winters. I never heard back from anyone, so I guess the answer is no, there is no discount for only needing a/c maintenance. That is the only reason I gave Air One Tech 4 stars. Otherwise, it would hav been 5. Update: the owner of the business contacted me and gave me the discounted price that was suggested by the tech Daniel. He said this was in the works prior to them reading this review, and I am prone to believe him. OK, this goes way beyond. I called them to schedule a maintenance check/service visit. I was a little concerned because it seemed a wet switch on our system had tripped; it's usually a false alarm, but I needed a pro to be sure in this case. They've already done excellent work for me, so I called them again. They moved me a up a couple days sooner from the original date, since the unit wasn't working, but wasn't an emergency. This, in and of itself, was great of them, and I appreciated the priority service. I also realized that the new date was my son's birthday - so I asked them if we could do late morning/early afternoon and be done by 2pm when my son got home. They said that would be no problem. Not only did they show up on time, do a thorough job checking and resetting the system, and finish everything long before my son was home, but - BUT... They showed with with an Amazon Fresh bag with a CAKE and BALLOONS. The technician (Ben) said, "I understand it's someone's birthday?" I couldn't even remember our conversation at first - but they did. This simple (but hard to coordinate in addition to a service call???) act of kindness speaks volumes about the kind of business they are running, and the kind of people they are. I hesitated to add this detail to my review at first, lest this be an expectation for every service visit - but this needed to be said.
