people trying to stuff luggage into the 9" openings of the overhead compartments
    Robert C.

An inch can make a difference, and we are not talking about the bedroom! Flew Air Canada for the first time from San Francisco to Vancouver. Would have liked to have flown from San Jose to Vancouver, but there were no direct flights on Thursdays. $10-$50 charge for advance seating selection. Being cheap skates, we waited until 24 hours before the flight to choose our seats. Air Canada about 10% more expensive than Alaska Airlines over the same routes, but Alaska Airlines has mandatory stops in Seattle when flying to/from Vancouver or Calgary to/from West coast cities of the US. Air Canada in Toronto has passengers to put their carry on luggage into a luggage cage, at the boarding gate, with dimensions 21.5" x 15.5" x 9". Those too large have to be checked in, with a $25 fee per bag. One airline in North America has the guts to enforce the maximum carry on luggage! Flew a 767-300 to Vancouver. Lots of storage space in the overhead compartments. 3 seats in each row on each side of the single aisle. Seats reclined just slightly. I could use my 14" laptop on my tray the entire trip, without headroom intrusion from the reclined seat in front of me. 2 chargers for every 3 seats. Bring your own ear phones for the in flight entertainment system, or pay $3 by credit card for the airline ear phone. One free nonalcoholic drink, and mini bag of pretzels. No hot meals. Sandwiches and chicken or vegetarian wraps for $7 purchase. Credit card only purchase. No cash accepted. 9 days later, flew on an Air Canada Bombardier CRJ705 twin jet engine aircraft from Calgary to San Francisco. Two seats per row on each side of the single aisle. 18 rows, or 72 seats, all seats taken. No dreaded middle seats! I was lugging my 20" x 14" x 9.5" soft luggage. Heaved it up to the overhead luggage compartment, and WTF, it was too wide to fit in the narrow 9" opening, much to the chagrin of the long line of people in the aisle behind me! Dumped enough of the contents into a plastic bag. My soft luggage shrunk down to 20" x 14" x 8.5" and just did cram the luggage into the overhead compartment. Other people had the same problem, some with oversized luggage were SOL. Plane was late in taking off due to luggage stuffing failures! Lots of leg room in the Bombardier CRJ705. 34" pitch between seats in adjacent rows, better than any other airplane I have flown on. The seats didn't recline, so didn't have any headrest banging into my face when leaning down, as happened on Hawaiian Air Lines! Bombardier CRJ705 is a twin jet engine aircraft, with engines right on the fuselage in the rear. Those in the rear like us listened to deafening jet engine noise, so loud we couldn't even hear crying babies!

Nothing special. So flying out from Calgary to Vancouver. Its weird how long it took them to start boarding people on the plane. Especially when they start calling for the person and the person doesn't show up. Yes and they still call non stop even after like 10mins ago stating that if that person doesn't show up the person looses her seat. Also I am surprised that there are quite a bit a lot of empty. Mostly in the middle seat. Service is ok. Its funny how the uniform looks so old school looking at the Calgary airport.

First class is the only way to travel across Canada. This flight back to Vancouver. The was comfortable, the flight attendants were attentive. It's absolutely worth the extra cost for the extras comforts. Smaller plane seemed like better service. Look forward to next flight!

    Seriously Air Canada !?!?!?

THE WORST airline ever out of the 30ish airlines across various countries I have used from US, Germany, Korea, Japan, China, and more.

That whole "Canadians are so nice" is false when is comes to Air Canada. Some real grumps. Never making the Air Canada mistake again.

By thanking them all with gift cards, they work hard to keep all the passengers happy and content! That alone can be challenging with people that are just not happy to begin with. The crew were very grateful and appreciative of the gesture. We did this on both flights. To our destination and returning. This flight was Calgary to Huatulco On this flight we traveled in premium. In this section we have the following: - free lounge vouchers -priority boarding -2 carry on, One personal bag, small carry on -2 free checked -drink waiting as you get seated on the plane -very spacious relaxing seats -you receive a menu for drink and meal selections served in real glass and metal utensils on a no slip place mate - being pampered which is a nice treat on long flights. Our flight was on an early time so our meal was omelet with some sides of yogurt, fruit, cheese with a chocolate croissant and of course snacks. Which consisted of bag of chips, bag of candied nuts, chocolate bars. All included with premium fare. Our return flight was delayed in arrival by an half hour due to weather in Calgary in Huatulco. Checking in at Huatulco was easy at the WestJet counter and boarding was a breeze with priority boarding Our meal was Shepherds Pie, salad, delicious chocolate cake, with drinks We will see you all soon on our next travel destination

We've been delayed again and again every 30 minutes so we havent been able to go do anything else like eat dinner. It says that there is weather issues at our destination but we have family waiting at the airport for us(for 5 hours now) who have payed for parking and have confirmed that the weather is not bad. This is unacceptable that we have been told we're close to boarding for the past 5 hours to still not have a pilot while we were told one was on their way and had landed over an hour ago. We are on flight WS 277 and are extremely disappointed in westjets customer service. Edit: After waiting 7 hours our flight has been cancelled...

The total cost of this vacation was $4800, way too much in my opinion for the value of this location. Oh, and what happened to the non-stop flight? Had to stop in Regina to pick up other passengers which tacked on two more hours. Tried to contact Sunwing "customer service" and given the run-around. Directed to a voicemail which got back to us five days into our seven day vacation. Sunwing rep at the resort did not coordinate with Sunwing and just phoned another resort to offer us an opportunity to pay $1400 for two nights at another resort. Short story, we traveled away from this hell hole everyday to avoid eating here. Never using Sunwing again. As for the airline, they try to fit as many people as possible on the plane. It is definitely not an aircraft made for comfort. Now the icing on the cake, while waiting for our delayed flight, we find out about A DRUNK PILOT attempted to come pick us up: http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/canada/calgary/impaired-pilot-sunwings-airlines-arrest-1.3917757 If we had any reservations about Sunwing before, this is the nail in the coffin.
