Worst airline I've been to in my life. Carry on bags that usually pass on air canada don't pass flairs. You're forced to upgrade to small check in. If you're a guy going through security you will be physically patted down. The flight attendants woke me up to take off my supreme body bag which is super small in size. Even air canada and westjet attendants dont do that. What really got me was the tiny size bin that you have to put your bags in; if they dont fit then they got another sale from you for the bag upgrade. So scummy, never flying flair again, looks cheap but the way they trick you ends up being more expensive than air canada or westjet lol. Once you board the plane they paint the plane before even flying, what a waste of time delaying the flight even more.. you can see the runny paint on the wing from being freshly painted green lol read more

Very bad experience with Flair Airlines. They were extremely strict about baggage. I had flown four international flights, all booked at the same time, with the same laptop backpack and carry-on bag, and no other airline had any issue. However, Flair forced me to pay and even made me remove some items from my backpack and leave them behind. When I explained that my bank account was temporarily blocked due to issues I had in Europe, they made me leave my carry-on bag (which weighed less than 6 kg) with all my clothes at the airport, and I had to board the plane without it. This was very stressful and completely unacceptable. In addition, I had a small gift bag from Amsterdam containing cookies and chocolate, and they told me I had to pay extra for it or I would not be allowed to bring it on board. After a long discussion and speaking with the manager, they finally allowed me to take it with me. They were also very aggressive even about my small laptop bag. The flight was delayed 30 minutes, there were no charging ports on the plane, and the aircraft smelled very bad, like a bathroom. I understand that budget airlines charge extra fees, but this level of treatment is unprofessional. I will not fly with Flair Airlines again, and I do not recommend it to anyone. read more

Note to self: it will take a spectacular price point for me to: forgot my time spent in an endless check in line; have to smash my 'personal bag' a into an airline jello mold; and deal with the concept of everything on board being 'for sale' - because $8 water on board doesn't explode apparently. Flight was delayed several times (total 6 hours) and when I was checking in, the attendant lied and said there would be no further delays because the plane was in the air and ready to board by 7:20pm. The flight was delayed 2 more times (8:30pm then 9:15pm) and when I asked what happened 2 hours after checking in, I was told by the supervisor that the plane had only recently taken off. My wife and I had a round trip vacation from Phoenix to Vancouver booked months in advance. Keep in mind that we live in Phoenix. We were supposed to leave Phoenix on a Monday and fly back home on a Friday. They canceled our flight from Phoenix to Vancouver without informing us, making my wife and I have to find another flight on another airline which costed us hundreds of dollars more. When I requested a refund for our canceled flight, they said they will send us a refund (which will take 5-7 business days to receive) and they did not give me a receipt for the refund (proving they are refunding us and the amount of the refund) but messed up our travels even further. I specifically requested that we only receive a refund for the flight that was canceled but keep the flight that was scheduled for Friday. Instead of honoring that and refunding us for the fight they canceled, they refunded us for both fights without telling us and also booked us on another flight (without our permission or knowledge) from Phoenix to Vancouver an hour after we fly back home from our Vancouver. This would mean that we would fly back home for an hour just to fly back to a place and country we do not live in. On Thursday, we weren't able to check in online and called the airline to get assistance, and we waited on hold for 1.5 hours. They did not check us in but told us we had to check in at the airport (not informing us that in their system we owed any money for our flight). Because of this, we arrived four hours early at the airport and waited until Flair's representatives showed up at their desk to check us in and other passengers. While trying to check in, Flair was telling us that we owed the full amount for our round trip reservation (though the first flight never existed because it was canceled). We were showing them proof of payment for our flight back home to Phoenix from Vancouver, they would not accept it and told us we had to pay the full amount again or we couldn't get on the flight. Eventually, my wife and I discovered that Flair most likely refunded us for both flights AND booked us for a flight to Vancouver from Phoenix an hour after we'd arrive back home to Phoenix. We ended up having to pay the full amount of both flights in order to get on the plane, and after waiting on hold with Flair for another 2 hours and sending texts to their customer service textline, we were told we will not be able to receive a refund for the flight we did not book but only receive travel credit for the airline (on top of that, they added a cancellation fee). We're now having to try to get back our money for a fight we did not ask for. We just want to pay for the flight we actually flew on and be refunded the rest of money to our credit card.
