Yes, five stars. I know you wonder why?! I travel over 100k year on United. All coach. Some trips to Asia and South America have 12-14 hour segments. In coach. Never have I been treated poorly. What I can say is United treats safety first. Hey, what do you want: fly in a storm, short handed or with a crazy passenger? I say no thank you. United makes travel affordable, safe and reliable. My company can't afford to pay for the high end airlines with the first class experience and neither can most travelers. So to me what they do is short of amazing. Consider the volume of people, the unpredictability of weather and the fact, the fact, that airplanes are made of parts that wear, crack and fail. Didn't mean to scare you but through all that I get to my destinations 99% of the time and on time. To me that is amazing. read more

I was on a flight to Calgary on United. No screens but they did have it available thru the app which was ok. However there were no power outlets so using your phone was good but bad too. The flight attendants were very nice and accommodating. read more

The absolute worst unfriendly staff at united in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Just based on the rudeness of their counter staff, we'll never fly united again. Why put up with crap service when there are other choices. I'll give my business to a company that at least can treat me like a human being never mind appreciate my business. read more

Forget about it! It is painful to watch you all flounder about without a clue as to what is happening. You have delayed me not once, not twice, not three times but more times than I can count on both hands and I am getting super tired of this. This time is above and beyond the worst. Masses of people just trying to make it on time and make connections, thanks to your organization, it is not going to happen. I was pretty disappointed during my most recent flight on United Airlines. For starters, when I arrived at the airport to check-in for my flight home to the states, I found out that my flight was delayed 4 hours!! Not only did I NOT receive an email stating the change, but when I finally got back into the states, I got a text message (not an email... a text message) stating the delay. How do they expect me to only receive texts when I'm in another country? I understand that some people are able to receive texts out of state, but I am not one of those people. And it's idiotic to not send an email as well. I was able to check my email throughout my entire trip. But I didn't have the ability to text. So that was frustrating in itself. Secondly, when I did finally check in, my original connecting flight would've had already taken off if I didn't get it changed. They man at the check in desk wasn't very helpful either. He said the last flight for our connecting flight was at 9pm, which was only 15 minutes after we would land from our first flight. How do they expect someone to get off a plane, get all their belongings, and run to another terminal all within 15 minutes? But we had no other choice. We couldn't wait for a flight the next morning and they weren't going to provide any sort of compensation or refund. So we took that flight option. After checking in, I went back to speak with a higher-up employee. I had explained our situation and she actually told me that there was another connection flight that didn't depart until 10pm. I was happy, but also very frustrated because the man that originally helped me didn't offer that 10pm flight option to begin with. I'm giving this review 2 stars because although they were terrible with communication and all my flights were delayed (even the newly booked ones), the staff on the airline were very pleasant and they were able to accommodate our flight issues in the end. read more

Flight 1780 on Jan 20, 2017. Houston, TX to Calgary, AB. My boyfriend and I were returning from BJX in Mexico, where they had computer problems. Consequently, we were assigned separate seats on this connecting flight. On the plane I asked a single passenger to please switch seats so we could sit together. She readily complied, but a seat Nazi named Diane lost it. She stormed up, demanded to know what was going on, and then exclaimed, "She's giving up AN AISLE seat for a middle one?!" "So sweet of you to point that out," I commented. Hands on hips, still at a full roar, she yelled "Well, I want her to know what she's giving up!!". The passenger was already seated, as were we, but seat Nazi wasn't finished. "I'm gonna get you a free drink for your sacrifice! You remind me!" The passenger was very embarrassed by the spectacle seat Nazi was hell bent on creating, and kept saying "I really don't mind. Don't concern yourself." STILL not done, seat Nazi yelled, "Well, I AM concerned!". Other stewardesses have cheerfully helped me in situations like this. But not Diane! She was very rude, loud and bossy . She was deliberately interfering and actively attempting to make our long flight incredibly unpleasant. Is this how you want your customers treated?! The flight was delayed by 2 hrs. Glitches happened at BJX. But we were in good spirits until we met the seat Nazi. I've never met a stewardess like her, and hope that I never do again. She was horrid!! read more

I give it one star because I have to rate to review. We were told when we checked in at San Francisco our baggage would go straight to Saskatoon and we wouldn't have to worry about it. We confirmed this also by calling the 800 number and all good. Only to get to Calgary and get to another airline counter and ask if we had baggage to check. We said we have our bags check right through to Saskatoon. They told us we were suppose to get our bags and check them in Calgary to continue to Saskatoon. Now our bags will be held by United and than customs and at some point make it to Saskatoon after we arrive. So all of our meds toiletries clothes gifts some breakable will be gone through by multiple people before we see it in a few days. As we sit in the airport and were told we can't go back to claim it before we fly to our final destination. read more

Awful awful awful awful awful!!!! United Airlines ruined my vacation. First of all my flight was delayed and i had to wait in a line for two hours to rebook my flight only to have them tell me i need to come back the next day. Waste of my day. I came back the next day and surprise! flight was delayed again. I had a connecting flight and they were both delayed. After going through that, my luggage got lost. It was supposed to arrive in Calagary at the same time as me but for some reason it went to Chicago. I have a wedding today and my luggage STILL has not arrived. I called so many 1800 numbers and was on hold for at least 30 minutes. The people on the phone kept telling me to call a different number. I refused and said that I need my luggage delivered to me. I'm done playing games with this terrible airline. Please avoid this airline if you can. I am posting this review everywhere I can because I had a horrible experience. Worst part is customer service was rude and disrespectful and did not care about me or my experience. Disgusting. read more

And, the more you fly with them, the worse they treat you. 100k = extra security checks, crappy middle seats, no guarantee you will get a seat, and poor customer service. The only way to get rewarded is to pay extra; loyalty means nothing. This is why I switched to another carrier and will take painful routes to avoid United. read more

Should get a minus 10 rating. Agents are not available to assist. If you find an agent they will not help you. They are particularly disrespectful toward people with disabilities. The United agents in Calgary were rude, unkind and uncaring. We were able to get help with United via the phone, but the Calgary United Agents refused to talk with the United Agents on the phone. I am in the midst of the worst customer service experience I have ever been involved in. I am in Calgary and am subjected to delay after delay into San fransico- the unfortunate thing is that united would like all their customers to believe that it is a weather delay when in truth it is construction at the SF airport that United has been aware of and should not have booked flights for but did. So, because of lack of interest and care for customers- I am incurring costs that United is responsible for. No gate agent, call goes to the Philippines they called operations at Calgary and no one answered? What? I expect a call back and a credit. Piss poor service. Ironic that I now check myself in and tag my bags and pay more for all of it. Shame on you United read more

I tried to book another flight, which was available on their website, but was told that I couldn't. I COULD NOT USE MY OWN MONEY TO BUY A FLIGHT THAT THEY OFFERED. The The customer service was some of the worst I have ever seen. Avoid flying with United when at all possible. I will NEVER book another flight with them, or any star alliance member. read more
