Amtrak Vacations arranged my transportation from Banff to Calgary, where I would be staying at the Delta Hotel that's on site at the airport. My arrival on the day before my return flight allowed me to explore the airport. The place is clean, signs are clear and helpful, the restrooms were well maintained, and security was efficient - not more than 10 minutes to clear for a flight that would leave around 8 a.m. There's an airport lounge (Aspire) that recognized my Priority Pass, and there were multiple options for meals apart from the lounge.

YYC airport is the closest airport if you're planning to go to Banff or Canmore. It's roughly an…read morehour away from Banff so plan accordingly when you arrive/depart. I'm from the US so I believe my gate was either 15 or 16 for arrivals. If you're renting a car at this airport and you're a US traveler, please note that you'll have a long walk to get to the car rental section which is near gate 7. I want to say I walked for at least 12-15 minutes to get from the arrival gate to gate 7. Departing was pretty quick and easy too. I traveled through American Airlines and found the kiosks to be far more streamlined when checking in versus going up to the counter. From there I went straight through the security and customs line. I was impressed with how smooth that went. Everything was 100% automated and checking in my bags through security while going through the scanners was a breeze. The staff on hand were friendly and moved passengers along with efficiency. As for departure dining, the food options at YYC are mediocre. It was lunch time and I ended up getting a nacho bowl at Mi Casa. It was decent, pricing was ok however it tasted commercial more than anything. I just wasn't wowed. The free Wi-Fi in this airport has good signal with several charging ports at the gates. If I ever find myself coming back to visit Calgary, I wouldn't hesitate to fly through YYC.

I booked a hummer limo for my son and his friends for grad and the limo pulled up with flashing lights, eye balls in the windscreen and "hummer daddy" across the rear window. The limo was looking quite rough. But initially I thought oh well they'll have fun still. Before my son and his friends were dropped off at BMO Center for their grad banquet, it broke down. The driver then told them to walk. At no point did the company call me to explain, offer an alternative or even tell me what happened. They just told the kids to get out and walk. The company hasn't even had the decency to yet provide me an explanation as to what happened and how they intend to make this situation right. Their claims of safety fail every box they claim to check. Unprofessional, unsafe and not worth your business.

He shared geographic, cultural, and other info on the drive to/from Banff. We first stopped at two different lakes/view point. Once in Banff, we were given 1.5 hours to shop and eat. We made the most of it! Lake Morraine & Louise were are fav stops! We had about 45 mins to an hour at each. The drive back takes 2.5 hours. We visited all the Banff hot spots and got great photos. I miscalculated and while the driver did attempt to message me several times with all the noise at the airport I didn't see the message. Upon finally making it to the pick up point, no taxi. I called Blue Line and the dispatcher remembered my name and once I explained he patched me through to our driver. He was very pleasant and arrived to pick us up. I cannot thank Blueline enough for the courteous and friendly service there and back.

Jobo met us at our hotel at 8 o'clock sharp and from there we spent the entire day seeing the wonders of the nearby mountains. We saw more in one day than I could have managed in three days, all without being rushed at all. It pays to have someone who is intimately familiar with the area as your guide. Although the information on the signage was more than sufficient, Jobo provided additional color regarding each of the stops. Jobo was very friendly, courteous, and it was an absolute pleasure to be in his company. The vehicle was very clean, stocked with ample water, and very well-maintained. I highly recommend ABest Transport and Tour Services Inc, and their "rider driven" philosophy, which Jobo exemplified.
