Just as I was wondering about the claw machine arcades - after just literally downsizing our stuffies collection from our move - Aikon Arcade pops up on the radar. It was a bit too good to be true, so I naturally had to scope it out. The Aikon Arcade quietly nested in the Carrollwood Grand Plaza along the northbound side of Dale Mabry. It's actually quite easy to miss if you're not paying attention - the purple/white branding of the signage did necessarily stick out with the red brick exterior facade. As it does establish itself in the plaza, there is plenty of parking. Going back to the branding, I found it neat for them to use the Japanese fortune cat, maneki-neko, in association with the type of games they have here. As you walk in, you will immediately find the gacha-prize section, along with other purchase-only Japanese toy blind boxes, which produces rather cute loot. *If you're looking for Labubu's to purchase, you will find a good variety of them here* A wall of the potential loot the blind boxes produces is on display, almost resembling that of the POP MART and MINISO stores. While not as expansive as the aforementioned stores, there is a great variety of these blind boxes that is catered to the tastes of different collectors. The rest of the arcade consists of primarily of claw-machines and around a dozen gachapon vending machines. There is also a cash-only photo booth machine with cute photo booth accessories if you need a break from all the neon lights enthralling you with their unwavering posture. The claw machines here are not guaranteed - very different than a GATCHA arcade where each game essentially guarantees you a prize stuffie. I would rate these claw machines as mildly challenging which still gives the thrill of playing these types of games. The trade-off here is in the tokens for each game. While each game costs an absurd amount of tokens/credits (you're looking at around 26-39 credits on average) at the GATCHA arcade, you're spending an average of 9.1 tokens/credits at Aikon (the games here range from around 8 to 22 credits for the claw machines and 30 credits for the gachapon machines). So for about $40, which gives you around 336 tokens, you could play potentially 36 games. And for pretty decent looking plushies, I'd say that's a great trade off. You can then swap the winnings (the plushies) in for points where you can then use to trade in for select blind boxes (to include a limited variety of Labubus). There are also a few claw machines that offer the dice roll which may also offer some of these blind boxes as prizes. And of course, the staff. They are amazing. The girls here are extremely friendly and courteous. I brought each of my daughters here on separate days and the staff were their biggest hype-persons. A+ in this category alone. Aikon Arcade is uniquely one of a kind - you can only find Aikon in Tampa, Florida. So if you're into gacha culture, or claw machines in general, Aikon is the place to go!

I was lucky enough to visit Aikon arcade while visiting Tampa during their opening. I had so much fun here! Got to relive my adolescence with claw machines and a fun Photo Booth. If you're looking for a fun date or something to do with your friends, definitely come visit Aikon! They accept card only. The vibe is right and every worker here that I encountered was very nice & helpful. I appreciated the tap to play refillable card feature. There were a good variety of cute plushies and the Gashapon options were all so fun! I loved all the cat themed options! They also had all kinds of blind boxes here. (YES LABUBU's!) I bought a few Sonny Angels AND Smiskis for my collection. Aside from plushies and blind boxes, they also had some very cool and rare snacks and drink from Asia. Saw chip flavors I've never seen before until now. Grab your friends& go have some fun at Aikon! It's also very kid friendly environment. Tampa definitely needed this!

Love the bags they offer and the game cards don't expire

Loved it! Prices were reasonable, prizes were adorable and staff was phenomenal! I felt the claws were challenging without being overly easy nor impossible to win. They definitely want you to walk out a winner with a smile on your face! I can't wait to bring this souvenir back for my daughter to love.

So-so experience here. Machines were almost bare and the photos we saw prior to visiting sorta let us down when we arrived...Almost like a realtor taking photos of a home in wide angle where everything looks bigger and more grand. There's maybe 12-15 machines here that we played and lost mostly. Maybe won 5 times out of $50 and winnings were primarily rinky stuff like a little fuzzball keychain. Can't win all the time but there has to be an element of fun which includes some winning....and it sorta fell short in my opinion.

No scammy weak claws here!! Whoever thought to mix claw machines and blind boxes deserves a Nobel Prize lol . This place is a whole vibe with the lights poppin', prizes stacked, and every machine has some kind of plush toy you just want to keep playing till you win. One second you're going full try hard gamer mode on the claw, the next you're unboxing a mini anime figure, Labubu, or some cute lil collectible of the month. And the best part? You can actually win these games. Just skill, vibes, and a lil persistence.

One of the prizes I wanted but then I ran out of credits. So the staff just gave it to me.

It was an amazing place that had fair prices with the claws super strong and had a very friendly atmosphere. Would recommend going there.

Super cool Japanese claw machine arcade. They also have authentic collectibles and snacks from Japan. Recommend for the whole family to enjoy!

the place is nice and has a variety of blind boxes. i had been two times before with no issues, each time getting a skullpanda the sound series. my most recent time i got another box, but when i went to put the figurine on the stand it came with, it did not fit. the pegs on the stand are too close together. i called the store and they told me there's nothing they could do and to contact pop mart. however, on the website for pop mart it states "After-sales services are only available for orders placed through official POP MART channels, including the official online store, official physical stores, and robot stores. For orders from third-party platforms or retail distributors, please contact the original purchasing channel or the platform's customer service for after-sales handling." it's a nice place but it's a shame they have no policies for this other than saying "there's nothing we can do." especially when spending $25 for the figure.

Vy and Amelia had a great time won so many prizes . They were so nice and helped us win.

    bag full of our winnings

Some machines were harder than other, but overall felt very fair and definitely more rewarding than a typical claw machine experience!! We spent roughly $81 and walked away with plenty of plushies. We didn't get any blind boxes, but they had a great selection of those as well! The gacha in the back was also great, overall 10/10! Staff were super friendly and helpful, next time we're in Tampa we will be back!

Amelia and Vy are very sweet, helpful and their custome service is always great here!!!

Left side of the claw game area

First attempt at a claw machine dropped TWO plushies. Staff is so sweet and helpful. Space is clean and organized and I can't walk to see what new toys they bring in. Wasn't too crowded at the grand opening!

    Prizes won!

My only complaint: whoever designed the bathrooms clearly believed hydration should come with cardio. The bathrooms are somehow in the furthest possible location from the bar... and upstairs. We were trying to make it to the Gasparilla Children's Parade, but to our dismay, the Jolley Trolley was completely full by the time it passed through Ybor. So GameTime was an appealing Plan B. It has a TON of interactive arcade games, mini-bowling (which we did not do), and a restaurant/sports bar with plenty of TVs. Like other arcade places, GameTime is a popular venue for hosting kids' birthday parties; or you can just grab a game card, load it with $$ and receive credits with which you can play games. They offer timed play (e.g. $25 for 1 hour with 500 fixed e-tickets for prize redemption), or you can choose to purchase a reloadable card where you decide how much money you want to spend and you accrue tickets as you play/win. We loaded our card with $25 which yielded 100 credits. Optionally, you can load a custom amount and receive 4 credits for every dollar. With our four-year-old, we blew through the $25 pretty fast and ended up adding another $25 (giving us a total of 200 credits). If we had just loaded the card with $50 initially, we would have had 25 more credits (225). Overall, I would say value is pretty par for the course. The prize counter is where I felt they were lacking (compared to Main Event and other names in the industry). The games were fun and only a handful were not working or malfunctioned. That did not deter us as the place was pretty dead that afternoon.

This time we tried out bowling and eating here along with arcade…read more I found the bowling to be very reasonably priced, it is $16 per person per hour. We just let the kids bowl so they got through close to two games. There were three children total. They say you can eat the food and drinks in that area, which is nice. However, the way their food and drinks work is you go and order at a kiosk and then they bring it out so you pick up. They do text you, but we totally missed the text that said the food was ready so it wasn't hot by the time we got it. On a Sunday there weren't that many people eating in the food area. I actually really appreciate that you put in your order and then you get a text, it is much more convenient than having to sit and be waited on. They have California pizza kitchen pizzas and they're actually really good. It was very thin crust and the 14 inch probably could've fed my entire family. The kids also love the curly fries. I thought it was funny because you can choose either fries or curly fries, I chose fries and they came out curly so I guess you really can't choose. My younger son wanted the rainbow Road pancakes. Future Christina do not get the pancakes. He didn't eat any of it. However, the kids demolished all the fries and each ate a piece of pizza so that was a win. As always, the kids played a ton of arcade games. This time we spent $20 per card and let them run around with our friend playing. I was surprised how not busy this place is on a Sunday around noon. That is definitely great for us, but I hope this place stays in business then.

This jump place isn't as professionally sound as near by businesses or their genre of business type. They posted a Groupon for purchase by the public and reads walk-in's are welcome. We walked in same day as Groupon purchase and had to wait in line for a bit. There was only two people working and they were both busy attending to a summer camp that came in. When it was finally our turn to use our Groupon to start our kids jump time we were told we can't use our Groupon unless we purchase additional items such as socks for each child. THE ENTIRE SUMMER CAMP DID NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL ITEMS SUCH AS SOCKS. The children from the camp wore their socks they arrived in. They refused our Groupon purchase without the additional purchase of socks and we were told to take it up with Groupon for a refund. I asked that the owner make a courtesy to allow our children to jump since the other children from the summer camp did not have to make an additional purchase of socks. There was no mention of this on their Groupon at purchase and there were no professional signage with this rule or extra charge.
