GameTime has been in the Ybor area for a pretty long time, but I only recently set foot in the establishment--and by total happenstance. We were trying to make it to the Gasparilla Children's Parade, but to our dismay, the Jolley Trolley was completely full by the time it passed through Ybor. So GameTime was an appealing Plan B. It has a TON of interactive arcade games, mini-bowling (which we did not do), and a restaurant/sports bar with plenty of TVs. Like other arcade places, GameTime is a popular venue for hosting kids' birthday parties; or you can just grab a game card, load it with $$ and receive credits with which you can play games. They offer timed play (e.g. $25 for 1 hour with 500 fixed e-tickets for prize redemption), or you can choose to purchase a reloadable card where you decide how much money you want to spend and you accrue tickets as you play/win. We loaded our card with $25 which yielded 100 credits. Optionally, you can load a custom amount and receive 4 credits for every dollar. With our four-year-old, we blew through the $25 pretty fast and ended up adding another $25 (giving us a total of 200 credits). If we had just loaded the card with $50 initially, we would have had 25 more credits (225). Overall, I would say value is pretty par for the course. The prize counter is where I felt they were lacking (compared to Main Event and other names in the industry). The games were fun and only a handful were not working or malfunctioned. That did not deter us as the place was pretty dead that afternoon. read more

I went with a small group of friends and their kids on Labor Day. It was surprisingly quiet when we arrived at about 1:30 p.m. We quickly went to the bar and some of us ordered food. You can choose meals that correspond with different game playing card deals. I ordered the fried tomato BLT that had a bit of a BBQ sauce of some sort on it, but it still went together well. Their fries are a cool texture and shape and came fried and salted to perfection. Our bartender was attentive and let us know happy hour began from 4-6 p.m. I was worried this place would be a loud raucous venue like some other game venues, but much to my delight, it was not. We had a great time at GameTime! We stopped by after exploring Ybor city and grabbed lunch and a few games. Everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a pretty standard arcade set up where you earn and redeem points for prizes. The best part of the day was the food. I ordered the burger and it was the best burger I've had in quite some time. It was a smash burger with caramelized onions and the bun was buttery and soft. I was so surprised that it was that delicious! The food here is worth a visit alone. read more

So I didn't eat the food really I had some onion rings. They were decent a little hard, but it was fine. My girlfriend had some garlic Parmesan wings They were all right, but they finally grain pieces of Parmesan cheese wasn't what I expected of them wings. The service was absolutely amazing our bartender was from Maryland as well and we were able to chat about that a bit so the service was pretty much 12/10 . The atmosphere was very well equipped with games and prizes. I probably would've enjoyed it a lot more than I did if it were more age-appropriate as I'm 30 and it was for teens. It was nice back in 2018, now it's like an abandoned arcade, where lot of games are experiencing technical difficulties. The staff members as well do not care much about doing their jobs. This is an okay place to play games and get a drink in Ybor. We went on a Tuesday after work (so around 6pm). The place was nearly empty. We were seated immediately, and our waitress came around to take drink orders within a minute. They have weekday happy hour from 4-8pm. I tried the strawberry and thyme martini. I couldn't discern the thyme (other than visually seeing the thyme sprig garnish), but it was an inoffensive drink. My husband had the pineapple mojito, and he thought it was acceptable for a $5 drink (all drinks half off during happy hour). For food, my kids got the kids pepperoni pizza. It looked like standard, chain restaurant pizza. My son loved it. My husband had a basic burger, and it was fine (the patty had the sharp edges of meat that was previously frozen). I had the cheesesteak burger. It was a standard burger with all the cheesesteak toppings and some cheesesteak on top. It tasted exactly as you'd imagine. The fries were nicely crispy but were definitely of the frozen variety. The food was inoffensive, but the prices were on the high side. We did the "Play with your food" deal, which combined discounted food with a card with 80 credits on it. You do not get the card until you pay for your meal, so we opted to pay after we ordered the food so my husband and the kids could go play while we waited for the food. My husband said that most games were pretty expensive (more expensive than DnB), and that there was a strong vibe of gambling while playing. The place was clean enough, but maybe not as clean as Dave n Busters. The food was very ordinary and on the pricy side. The drinks, being half off, were reasonable, and a single drink did not leave me hungover the next morning, which is more than I can say about other low priced cocktails I've had in Tampa (I'm looking at you, La Teresita). Service was nice. I just can't say that I'd be thrilled to return. I'd prefer to drive to Brandon to go to Dave n Busters if I'm inspired to have another family game night. read more

The one guy was just innocently clueless on sports but at least tried, but Shannon was particularly entitled and sassy and could only work in a place like this since they auto bill gratuity which enables her to act like she does and make snide comments under her breath and still get paid. Is you go with your Kid then I suggest do the timed card for games and not buying credits to add to the card. I spent a little over a hundred dollars for about an hour and thirty mins, and I am being generous because it maybe was a shorter length of time then that. Food not good at all. Had wings, Chx Nachos and Loaded Fries. And those were the best selections on the menu, and still the worst. This food is definitely bar food; where you get as many half off drinks during their Happy Hours and then load up on their food for the grease only to sober up before driving. When we walked in it was very smokey, like the kitchen had burnt something. We were told it would be a 2 hour wait to be seated, but that we could sit in the bar area. After sitting in the bar area we were told we had to wait 10-15 minutes to put a food order in, because the kitchen was backed up. What felt like an hour later we were able to order food. We walked in around 7:30 and ate around 9. One of the bar tenders was wonderful, and very apologetic. The other could have cared less. I wanted to get the jerk chicken wings, but they were out so I ordered the blackened grouper pasta and it was just ok. Definitely could have been more seasoning. The saving grace was that my kids had a great time running around playing games, and I thought their game card structure was a really good deal. You can play unlimited games for a set time (we did $15 for an hour), or purchase credits. Be warned, however, that timed cards do not accumulate tickets (as the person at the counter very rudely informed my friend). Morale of the story-stick to plain bar food (burgers, wings, etc.), and it's fun for the games. read more

Very fun place full of games and prizes to win. Only thing I found annoying is the way they do the card purchasing for game points. You can purchase either by time (1 hour etc), which is does not accrue tickets and cannot be "shared", or you can buy points, which does accrue and is advertised that it can be "shared". The more points you buy, the better deal you get. So we were going to purchase the largest package, and split it between our three kids. We were told we could not do that, and had to purchase separate cards for each child (if they wanted their own card) so we had to pay more to do that. We came here Saturday night. At first I was going to write a bad review and walk out. We sat in the bar area for about 10 mins and no one greeted us. Then I walked up to the bar and the bartended Candy asked if I had been help. I said no and she apologize, explained it was only her and the other bartender working the bar and here was no one working the floor. So she took our order, my son ordered a Yuengling and she then explained it would be a minute because she had to change out the keg. That was perfect for us, so we weren't sitting there wondering what was taking so long. There was 6 of us in our group. I ordered the chicken and waffle party plate. After a little bit I asked Candy if the food was still coming out. She again was super honest and said she forgot, however, she put the order in and made sure to make it a priority. The food came out and it was amazing! The chicken was super moist, and the waffles were thick and crispy. Candy was amazing!! This was going to be a bad review a complaint to the manager and 6 customers walking out. Candy is the reason we stayed and this review is a 5 star. I would just suggest that especially on a Saturday night there should be 1 or 2 other people working the bar floor. I've only been to Ybor City once before, I probably stayed away on purpose because of the temptation to wring the neck of one of the many chickens that roam around, or should I say, strut around town like they own it... that's free dinner, and I'm from Baltimore, home of the Chicken Box & "Haf -N- Haf" or as the call it here in Tampa, an Arnold Palmer. But I must say, it's a different atmosphere here and it has an awesome vibe to it. The fact that GameTime is also in Ybor is an added bonus. Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 4-8 and if you get the right server, it may possibly be a lonng 4 hours . So how would I describe GameTime?... Think Dave & Buster's minus the exceedingly loud music making it impossible to have a conversation, a million kids running around unsupervised, the nastiest bathrooms you've ever seen all while having a server who actually has more to say than just, "Kin I take yo order?!" with an attitude and you have GameTime! And it's awesome. I had my first Watermelon Mule... loved it. My wife had a beer that was taller than her, lol! And Maddie-pie had her usual cherry coke and chicken tenders & curly fries (which were really good by the way, I kept sneaking them while she played pool with her mom, lol!) Our search for the best wings in Tampa has seen us trying place after place only to be disappointed... until now... we had Buffalo, Sweet Chili and Garlic Parmesan... and, "Oh my guudness!!!" "Homerun! Touchdown! Goal! Slam Dunk!" all in one!! Check out the picture of the Chicken & Waffles I had... I'll say nothing else because words... they just do them no justice. Tina... Love the arcade! Slightly disappointed with the dining experience. I don't know what it looked like before the renovation, but the restaurant is beautiful and the game room only had one machine out of order. That's pretty impressive. We had a great time, but I wish our dining experience was better. First, our food took half an hour - no exaggeration. When our food did finally arrive it was a disappointment and not worth the wait. The wings were nice and crispy but greasy and flavorless. They use a bland butter for the sauce. When I asked for another dipping sauce, our server informed us we'd be charged extra. The entrées were okay; chicken on my salad had an odd texture, but the salad itself was great with fresh ingredients. Husband didn't enjoy his chicken sandwich. Kids liked the sliders and pizza. The highlight of the visit was when it was time to play. Certain items on the menu with a special marker have the option to upgrade to $17 to receive an all access game card worth $15. This was a no-brainer! We had a blast using our card, which went by way too quickly, but we earned enough points (automatically loaded on your card) to redeem them for some goodies. I love how high tech the arcade is - so nice to see the points deducted on a flat screen as you choose your rewards. Tip: the bathrooms are upstairs toward the back and a bit of a hike to get to. Came to eat with 10 people for a birthday party. At first, I asked for the drink that the waiter recommends. Well he recommended the pirate's drink. It was really sweet and not drinkable. I did order a replacement drink of Bud light. The food took a really long time. My food was last one to arrive. At first I thought they forgot my order because there was no communication. Finally my good arrives and it did not disappoint. I got the breakfast burger and it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!! the burger was the only good thing. After that, it took 30 minutes to get the check. No one came and told us the issue. We just waited and waited. They said the waiter was new but he had about 5 people helping him. After we got the check, we waited another 20 minutes for the cards. At this point we were so frustrated that we wanted to just leave. We had other plans but this was sooo bad that people just left afterwards. My favorite game was the zombie game, the crazy pac man game, and skee ball! This is a fun place, and if you don't like to play games then don't come here! It's perfect when it is raining outside or it's a scorcher outside. That is what it was for us. We enjoyed playing all the games and got the all access pass. The blue pass is not transferable to others in your group so the red access pass was better for us and we could play every thing. We loved everything about it. The Yelp check in offer is a "High Five" at the time of this writing and last week on 4th of July. I was able to opt for a fist bump. The game time attendants and manager wasn't aware of the offer, but we all had laughs about it. I think the offer should be upped to something valuable in game time...like extra game credits? We came here after a dinner at Christino's across the street to kill time before going to channelside to watch fireworks. We had a 5 kid crew and they all had a blast. Hubby even shot baskets over and over. At 7pm-8:45pm place was quite dead, but it was a holiday. This was great for the kids because they never had to wait for a game they wanted to play. Yesterday my boyfriend, his seven-year-old son and I visited Game Time. We arrived right when they opened at 11 am. The place seemed clean and the floors were freshly mopped. Upon walking in you'll find a full bar on the left and a food service area on the right. We didn't eat here but it looked like they had a pretty extensive menu with a lot of options to choose from. The staff didn't greet us when we walked, instead they just kind of stared as we tried to figure out what to do. Finally, my boyfriend asked someone, and a lady walked him back to a self-service machine where he purchased 2 $50 All Access passes. There are two types of passes, an All Access pass that allows you to play all the games, collect tickets, and play games simultaneously with a set amount of credits ranging from $25-$100. Then there is the Timed Play pass that lets you play a little over half the games for either 1, 2 or 3 hours ranging from $15-$30. Game Time recently updated their system, now you just tap the card over the game pay area you want to play instead of trying to swipe the card. Any tickets you win load right onto your card instead of printing out. The place is pretty large inside and there are a ton of games to choose from. There is even a little bowling area which was pretty fun. I found that most of the games worked and just a few were out of order. At one point I lost my game card and a manager was able to replace it with another one. It just took a little while since they were working with a new system and trying to figure everything out. The 600 credits my boyfriend purchased between the two cards lasted us about 2 and a half hours. We were ready to go by then since we've lapped around the place about 5 times by then. We had a little over 1,300 tickets and my boyfriend's son picked out a stuffed Deadpool. All and all the place is pretty fun to take kids to or even for an adult night. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Gametime last weekend when we came to visit Ybor. Since we both frequent arcades, we were excited to grab some drinks and play games. We ended up waiting for more than 15 minutes at the bar, without being acknowledged once despite there being 2 bartenders and 4 people already with drinks, so my boyfriend suggested we leave to grab drinks elsewhere. Fast forward to last night, Ybor was less busy since it was a Monday, and we decided to stop by to do the deal where you eat and then play afterwards with the $15 card. To my surprise, I found a a short, metal wire in my chicken club! My boyfriend and I thought it was a staple at first, but when the waitress and manager checked, it was from the wire brush they used to clean the stove! The manager offered to provide the meal for free, and I told the waitress my boyfriend was on the same tab, but my sandwich was the only thing taken off. This was fine and we still paid for our meal without argument, but after telling my friends about this discover, they all said "what if you ate the wire??" and etc. Moving forward, some of the games we tried to play either took our card funds without starting or we would try to play some of the two player first person shooter games, and only one controller would be working right. Honestly, you're better off just going to Dave and Busters. Edit: the only plus last night was our super nice waitress (forgot her name, but she was blonde!). She was very accommodating and much friendlier and more apologetic than her manager when there was a wire found in my sandwich. read more

First time here with a friend and it was okay however I didn't care how Smokey it was inside. It was food smoke, it appeared that the restaurant did not have proper air vents to release the smoke so it was thick to the point my clothes was smelling of food when we left. This definitely need to be fixed ASAP. I have a kid who have asthma and it's no way I could have stayed there to eat or play games with her going into an asthma attack. The worst dining experience I have ever had. Our group of buddies visited Tampa for a bachelor party and decided to come here to get food and watch soccer/football on Sunday. There were maybe 15 people in the bar. Our group accounted for 10 of those. The bartender and management were incompetent. It took 20 minutes to change the channel to a game we wanted to watch and when they did they put it on tvs that we weren't facing. The bud light keg kicked after 2 beers. They ran out of glasses. They couldn't remember our order 2 seconds after taking it. Then they still got the order wrong after repeating it multiple times. One of the silverware napkins had an old jalapeño in it (wtf). On numerous occasions we ordered more beers and they completely forgot. And the food was the only thing more underwhelming than the service. Save your money, time, and frustration and go next door to Buffalo Wild Wings. read more

This place is great! Not a typical arcade by any means. For $25 a piece, us two adults were able to spend 2 hours playing ANY games while still earning tickets! Want to play shooter games but worried you will waste the credits? No worries, they still pay out! The prizes aren't extravagant, but not flimsy, cheap either. Unlike other arcades, they do not rip you off for your time and money. We only had $25 a piece and had a blast for two hours. All ages appropriate! We didn't try any of the food, but it offers the usual nachos, burgers, and wings that you would expect. On top of all of this, it was so clean! We will definitely be back at least once or twice a month to wind down. read more

BEWARE! The waiter Jeremy likes to steal tips if you don't give him what he wants. My family and I went here to have some fun before heading back home. We went to the restaurant and it was only us and another group.of gentlemen when we first sat down. It took our waiter a while to come to the table. He then took our drink order and that took a while too. We ordered our food and didn't get our food for almoat 35-40 minutes later. The service sucked. So our bill came out to $50.45 and he got tipped 2.55, well he didnt like that so he added a 1 in front of the $2.55 to get a $12.55 tip. I called the establishment as soon as it posted to the bank account to let them know. The manager Terrance was very helpful in getting the ball rolling but upper management has yet to contact me. Clearly, it is okay for their employes to steal from their customers. I will not support this establish again. read more

Why 5 stars? Because this is why I love Ybor City. --- --- --- When people come to visit, I always send them to Ybor, because Ybor has something for everyone. Fine dining, casual dining, beer bars/breweries, dive bars, cocktail bars, clubs, ghost tours, etc etc. And now they have a (re-vamped) arcade! I remember visiting the old Game Works, years ago, and it was fairly unmemorable. Actually, it was very unmemorable because I don't have a specific memory about it. But GameTime? I'll never forget it! Buy yourself a blue card, which gives you one hour of play on a majority of the games. You'll be worn out by the time you're done, and it's only $15! A couple rounds of Pop-A-Shot are incredibly tiring, but I did my best to play as much of that as I could during my hour. I made it to the final round a couple of times, which was even more exhausting. I can say this with a completely straight face - GameTime can be a good replacement for the gym, when you spend a lot of time playing basketball. But there are definitely plenty of other games as well: air hockey, duck bowling, Deal or No Deal, beer pong, the thing where you hit something with a giant hammer as hard as you can, the one big punch on a punching bag game, etc. I'm telling you - many of them require a decent amount of physical force/activity! Of course, there are plenty of standard arcade games as well, if you're not looking to break a sweat. As I said in the beginning, GameTime is another reason Ybor is so diverse, and a place I'll continue to send people who fly in to visit Tampa Bay! read more
