Hi giving an update to this spot, first of all it's under new ownership and is still under work to being changed and all that fun stuff. That being said I'm not getting paid nor doing this place any sort of service exchange. Now that being said I'm doing my review of them just how I would anyone and will not have any special treatment and remember my reviews seem harsh but are actually honest and doesn't always mean I discourage trying them out. At the end y'all do your own opinion of them. 1- pizza is good price is not bad but dough quality in my opinion could be better but maybe it was a one thing missed in this incident but we will see once I try a different time. 2- we had pineapple on it and it was extremely sour and ruined the flavor of the pizza also it felt it hurt the cheese flavor made it more sour or it could have been the cheese but still not bad. 3 - the cheese sticks were actually delicious and well cooked and on the spot. 4 - we got chicken wings in those were near perfect, for the price and quantity and quality they were worth it and really well priced. Now that being said y'all should give them a chance and check them out, I'm sure they will get better in time and I would rather pay them then pay dominoes their outrageous prices for crappy pizza and always always messing up orders and not really caring. read more

I stopped in for a slice and they put more cheese on the already cooked pizza and it's not melted and greasy and handed it to me. I can't fathom the logic behind this. I demanded my $$ back and got outta there. No New Yorker would stand for this. read more

After an excellent memorial day spent with friends and a cookout, my roommate and I got the late munchies and had a craving for pizza. I had seen advertisements for Aidan's before but had forgotten about it till then and we decided to give them a try. Aidan's has carryout and delivery specials and offers a pizza with pulled pork, bbq sauce, onions and peppers... what's not to love?!?! I called and was quoted that it would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes. I walked in exactly 15 minutes later and the pizza was being boxed up, talk about perfect timing! Before paying, the man working at the time showed us the Sweet Carolina pizza and cheese sticks (my roommate ordered for herself) and they looked amazing, we couldn't wait to take them home! Once we got home and finally got to try the pizza, it was everything I wanted and more. The sauce was sweet and tangy but sticky in an interesting way--not bad at all. I agree with other yelpers, the sauce was on point! They definitely know how to make delicious pies! I wish the crust was a big crispier but it was still so delicious. My roommate said the cheese sticks were amazing as well! With such friendly and quick service and delicious food, there's no way we won't stop ordering from Aidan's! So excited that a local pizza place is so close by! I only wish they had room for seating since they're open so late (great for late night munchies!) read more

I was a big fan of Aidan's when they opened: great quality and great service. However I guess they no longer care about the first thing anymore. The last two times I've eaten at Aidan's I've been given burnt pizza with barely any toppings. Underneath that burnt exterior, the pizza tastes fine, but definitely isn't anything special. The cheese sticks are good, and the marinara sauce is tasty! (For some reason it is not the same sauce used on the pizzas, which is just average). The pros: ordering is always fast and friendly, and delivery has always been reliable. The pizza comes cooked with some semblance of the thing you asked for. The cons: the quality is average. The toppings are sparse, the crust is burnt, and the taste is boring. read more

Their pizza is spot on, throw in that it's a mom and pop shop and I'm a loyal customer. I typically don't even like thin crust, but they seem to get it just right. I will never ever eat here again. The pizza tasted good until I found a long hair on it. The workers don't wear gloves. The girl answering the phone had a nasty attitude. Second time ordering from the place. First time the pizza took every bit of forty five minutes but not over and it was well worth the wait. This second time around I'm still waiting for pizza because I just ordered it, but I wanted to just take a second to thank the staff at the restaurant. Reason being is when I ordered just now, Yelp told me immediately afterwards that the place was closed for the next two hours. When I called to verify, Thomas was more than courteous and understanding. He then confirmed the entire order (so we dont regret NOT making it our business, smart man), and even threw in a free sauce. So thanks, guys, for killing it. Aidan's large specialty pizzas are all $16.95 -- one comparable independent pizza location in Carborro charges $24 for their large supreme. *In fact, prices at Aidan's will even beat most chain restaurants. Ex: I order the "Cheesy Pizzaz Delivery Special" (large 2 topping pizza + cheese breadsticks) and it's only $18.95 WITH delivery fee and tax. Try matching that elsewhere! Quality: My order is the same, every time. It's always hot, like fresh-from-the-oven hot. My order has been correct every time -- not one mistake on any order. That's just the food quality; service quality is stellar, too. I've waited 2 hours for one unmentioned chain location here in Chapel Hill, only for my order to be incorrect. Place a delivery order with Aidan's and it will be at your location in 30-45 minutes, reliably. Ease: I've ordered here enough that I know what I like. Extra toppings? They really give you your $0.75 worth. We asked for ricotta and they absolutely piled it on. Me: "This entire pizza is ricotta!" (Not really, but they definitely don't cheat you.) The dough is phenomenal! And so are the combinations for the specialty pizzas. Have never had a problem with service. Consistently impressed with this joint. The best pizza I've had in the CH/Carrboro area! We ordered three large specialty pizzas, taking advantage of their carry-out special on large specialties; we got the Ultimate, the Garden, and the Greek Goddess. The Greek Goddess, with its garlicky white sauce and delicious blend of cheeses, was the clear favorite among my girlfriends, although the others were also great (loved the banana peppers on the Garden). My boyfriend had the wings, which he said were good as well. My boyfriend had a lovely time chatting with the owner when he went to pick up the pizzas. If you live in Chapel Hill/Carrboro and you're ordering from a pizza place other than Aidan's, your life is a failure up to this point. It's time for you realize the error of your ways. Aidan's Pizza is the bomb. For only $12 (for carry-out, $16-ish for delivery), you get a large, specialty pizza that'll rock your socks. I went in after seeing it rise to the top of Yelp's best places in Chapel Hill and boy are those reviewers right! They have a variety of fun toppings to chose from, it's close by, and the employees are super friendly. We ordered the "Carnivore" specialty with pulled pork added. It was so great. I loved all the toppings and the crust was phenomenal. We devoured the whole thing in a few minutes. At $12, you literally cannot go wrong. That being said, the large did seem just a little smaller than the standard. Normally we always have leftovers from a large, but we didn't this time. That could be because it was so delicious, but it really did look smaller. I would recommend getting more than one if you have a group of people. Also, I would LOVEEEEE it if they offered dine-in. Currently they only have carry out and delivery! So just make sure you know that before going in.... so you don't look stupid looking for a table like we did. read more

We went to Aidan after a show at UNC. Unfortunately they don't have a place to sit but we sat at the bench of the closed Chinese restaurant nearby. We ordered a large pizza which was half garden, half Greek for 13$. The staff were cool and helpful and we loved the pizza. I think Greek was the winner but the garden was good too. read more

Wanted to love it. Close to my house, nice people. The pizza just didn't hit us the right way. I stopped in one day before they opened, and I wanted to know if they had gf pizza.... And 18 minutes later the guy is still explaining why they in fact do not have gluten free. Ok. So I got pizza for the rest of the family and it just wasn't extraordinary. In fact one of my kids who was dying for pizza wanted to cook a frozen one and not eat his. Alrighty then, I'll take that as a no, we aren't going there again. Well we actually got the pizza delivered. Meh, not for us. But obviously it's great for a lot of others by the reviews I see here! Good for them. That spot at that strip mall seemed to always have super back luck and I'm glad these nice guys are having a good go with it. I just wish they made pizza my family liked better. Honestly I wanted to love this place because its locally owned and the majority of yelpers said I would... Unfortunately I will probably not go back unless I happen to be hungry for pizza in this awful small strip shopping area.. Which I never go to so unlikely. This is simply a pickup type place and the crust tasted overdone and too much like chain pizza. I ate a leftover piece and was still disappointed. I will say I am a lover of IP3's... I really wanted to continue my love affair with Aidan's. However, something is just off about the crust. It almost tastes like it was dipped in cheap butter before it was cooked. The crust at the end of the slice tastes alright, it's just the crust of the actual pizza that puts me off. It remains to be one of the cheaper options for pizza, so we do continue to visit when we are on a budget...but I've found other options in the area that I prefer over Aidan's even if I have to pay more money. read more

This place was decidedly "meh." I really don't see a reason for the shining reviews. We got an offer in the mail and decided to do take out from this place, even though we usually go to a different pizza place. Based on the glowing reviews, we were expecting at least pretty darn good, if not amazing, pizza. But when we went to eat it (we ordered cheese on one and mushroom on the other) the pizza was very doughy and bland. Now, I'm not expecting amazing flavor from a cheese pizza, but the sauce tasted like jar sauce, there was hardly any cheese, and the mushrooms were little shriveled-up things. The pizza was very bready, but the crust, like everything else, was very bland. It was also not browned at all, just cooked enough so no part of it tasted uncooked. My dad even said that he'd prefer Dominos, which is a blow to this place as we don't normally eat at big pizza chains. I agree, however, that Dominos pizza might contain just a little more flavor. Granted, this was over a year ago, so the pizza may have changed, but there were still amazing reviews up before we went. Just sayin. On the plus side, this place was very family-friendly on the inside and the owner was very kind and even shared a bit of his story. However, if you want better pizza, I would choose Carrboro Pizza Oven or Alfredo's over this place. read more

He asked for our patience and couldn't have been nicer. We walked in and found him working alone and very apologetic about the wait.. No problem. I've had many a pie in my 40 (something) years - from all over the country and various countries abroad - and Aidans is among the best you'll find anywhere. We have made it our standard "Family Movie Night" fare. Can't go wrong with one of their specialty pizzas, but the basics are just as good. With quality ingredients and a dynamite crust, each mouthful is a delight to behold. My favorite addition are jalapeños, which are fresh, flavorful, and kick the afterburners into high gear - not the bland, lackluster pickled variety that other, less reputable establishments would try to pass off. Let me start by saying I'm a Flight Attendant, pizza is my weakness and I love trying new pizza places in the different cities I layover. Not only was the staff member that took my order by phone at the top of his game, so was the delivery driver who brought the food to my hotel. Top notch service. Now onto the important part, the food: I ordered The Carnivore and a side of cheese sticks. Not only was the pizza still piping hot when it arrived, it also tasted amazing. I'd heard rumblings about a new pizza place in the shabby Willow Creek shopping center on Jones Ferry Rd., about a mile from my house. A quick check of their website revealed a carryout special: $6.99 for a one topping large pizza. Yes, please. I didn't call ahead because I planned to grab a few things from that godawful Food Lion next door, so I went in and placed an order with a super friendly guy and was told it would be five minutes. Awesome. I went to the Lion, got my bananas and Sprite Zero, and went back to pick up my spinach-topped cheese pizza. I got home and was thrilled to find they'd used ample FRESH spinach, exactly the right amount of sauce (not too much, pizza people!), and a bubbly, doughy in places and crunchy in places crust.
