I normally come to this poke place, because it's near everything and I live close by. But I really didn't appreciate the service tonight. We came in Wednesday, 5/3/23 around 8:50PM to 9PM, as the sign mentioned that they close at 10PM. My boyfriend just finished work and I finished a hectic 12 hour shift earlier, so we were both pretty excited to get some food. The food is decent as always. It's what you expect although they did up the price, but that's what happens when you have inflation. Ambiance is what you expect. The girl serving us was alright. You can tell she was over it and wanted to leave, so she wasn't smiling. Not an issue and I totally understand. We ordered poke. But when we made it to the cash register, we asked for a spam musubi to go. Boyfriend tapped his card and paid. We were excited for our food, and she had the bag out on the counter, so we went to grab the bag and I guess that annoyed her because in a loud rude tone, she said "answer the question". We were confused and she said it even louder in a monotone voice, "ANSWER THE QUESTION". We looked down and it was the tip, which we were gonna give afterwards in cash. We apologized and got flustered, pressed no tip, then she started pointing at the tablet. We had to sign, but we were taken back as to why she was being so mean. We got our food, said thank you, but she completely ignored us, did not respond, and walked off to the side. I understand it was late, so I had the $5 in my pocket to tip, but decided not to because of her rude behavior. As we began to walk out, she said something in Spanish, it was three syllables, to her coworker and they laughed. It was loud enough for us to hear. They put too much sauce in my opinion, my rice was too saucy to finish. The food is so good, but no food is worth putting up with the nasty attitudes that the girls here give their customers. This is the first time I've been rushed in a place that had no line. It almost makes you look forward to getting your food as soon as possible in order to not be around them anymore. It's actually surprising to see that these girls have had months old reviews for this exact issue, with no solution. In the food service industry you have to consider that not every interaction is going to be a good one and the workers may have bad days, but it seems to be that every day is a bad day for them. There is no excuse to treat customers like they are the ones being rude to you. They were in such a rush to get us out of there that they didn't explain how things work very well, and got mad at US for being confused. If you are going there for the first time I guarantee that those girls would get mad at you for asking any kind of questions. Price: Pretty average for the area. A regular is $11.29 when ordering through their website and the large is around $13. Service: I ordered through their website and chose a pickup time of 12:30. When I arrived at 12:32, they hadn't even started preparing the order yet, which was a bit diappointing. Tldr; A fast and convenient place to get your poke fix. The fish is fresh and the toppings plentiful. Where do I even start? Let me just put it like this. It takes me sometimes a 45 minute drive to get there but in the end it's so much worth it! The place is always clean and the food is so good. Ordered takeout and was quite disappointed! They came in a special two-part containers. The portion was much smaller than if you walk in and order in person, when they use regular box containers. I remember coming here many months ago before the pandemic and the portion size was pretty big, more than I could finish as a lunch. But today it's not enough, everything from the base salad to the condiments were less. I ordered a salmon bowl with cooked salmon, the salmon pieces were very thin and hard. Based on the images of the old menu, the prices has gone up to about $12 for the regular option (2 choice of protein) and $14 for the large option (3 choices of protein). It was my first time visiting this specific location and was super excited to see if it was the same as the one in West Covina. Unfortunately, I'm not happy how one of my orders came out. I placed 5 orders of the regular size bowls (2 choices of protein each). The ladies behind the counter started rushing and worked on all 5 bowls simultaneously. They were all nice but I felt that they were super stressed out from such a large order. I also felt rushed so I quickly told them what I wanted in each bowl and then paid for my meals without checking the content of each bowls. (I guess that was my bad!!) When I got home, I noticed that they didn't put in the 2 protein base for one of my orders. So I ended up spending $12 on just salad and kelp noodles with a bunch of sides (see picture). I'm super sad about this. :( All the other orders appeared to come out okay. It seems like I was the only unlucky one to have no protein in my order even though I did ask for the blazing salmon and tuna. (Sigh). My family was nice enough to share their portion with me. I'm giving it a 3 stars because the food wasn't too bad overall. It was just that one order and it could have been their honest mistake. It was probably also my mistake too for not checking. Anyways, similar to what other Yelp reviewers have mentioned below, there's room for improvement.
