Great, I thought, as I have another one even older that is also broken so I brought it in. They repaired the first one, and told me that the second one was so old that the model had changed and they couldn't get the parts to fix it. So they gave me a brand new one, not under warranty - just gave it to me for free. I was stunned. This level of customer support is amazing. This is my go to store from now on for all things bird related. From the ease of the booking process to the day-of execution, the entire process was 10 stars. Hannah and her team went above and beyond (which I now understand is their standard MO.) They effortlessly managed all of our decor, seemlessly and joyfully wrangled 12+ children (and twice as many extremely excited adults.) The experience was educational and extremely interactive (We decorated mini horses! We held/pet so many incredible animals! The kids rode unicorns!) Even the coloring pages had our daughter's name printed on them. There was not one aspect of the day that felt like an after thought. The attention to detail and the care they show is so amazing. I really can't thank Hannah and her crew enough for hosting (far and away) the best birthday party my daughter has ever had. Core memories were made by all of us.

There's another area in the store for feeding+watering supplies/receptacles...Everything! Great variety of toys and different cage items to keep them busy, from being bored. You wouldn't think they could fit so much into a smaller place, but they do...Only it isn't cramped or crowded by any means. Anyway, because I just adore conures, happened to notice that there were 2 of the most precious little ones I'd seen, and needed them immediately. LOL. Sure, it was an impulse buy--Usually regretting impulse buys, but not this time! They'd just arrived at the shop not long before my visit, so there was an observation period the shop has, just to make sure the birds are healthy, to take care of birds' medical needs if present, and of course to make sure they aren't giving you an ill pet. About a week later, they came home with me. Owner provides histories and updates on the pets. Joe will keep you informed if there is any special need. One short adjustment period later, we trained and cared for "Charlie" and "Lady", and we now have FOUR conures---These are the two I picked up that day, super-healthy, super-happy little birbies! The main guy helping customers was very knowledgeable and answered my numerous questions about setting up an aquarium with plants, invertebrates, and fish. As this was my purpose of visiting, I can't comment on the other animals and supplies they have, but they have a huge variety of fish, the vast majority of which seem to be doing well. Although the prices of the fish and plants are a bit higher than corporate ones, the fish are supposedly from a better source and healthier, and it's a local business. Although I typically prefer online shopping to find the best deals, this store keeps bringing me back because of its unbeatable prices and great service. On my most recent visit, I saved nearly $200! My dog's food, which normally costs $89, was heavily marked down--a rare find--so I couldn't resist grabbing more than one bag while it was on sale. I often bring my puppy along, and the staff is always friendly, personable, and makes us feel welcome. The store is clean, well-stocked, and the deals are fantastic. While I wish there was an online shopping option instead of just in-person or third-party delivery services, the savings and great in-store experience more than make up for it. Despite the mixed reviews on the Imagitarium line, I figured a 2.5-gallon rimmed tank was low-risk. How bad could it be? Laughably bad. I got it home, set it on a level stand, and the frame was so badly warped it couldn't get all four corners on the surface at the same time. I'd heard about issues with the rimless Imagitariums, but being unable to manufacture a 2.5-gallon rimmed tank correctly is wild. Whatever, things slip through QC from time to time. I went back to exchange it. The employee explained they couldn't do an exchange, that I'd have to return it and purchase another one. Fine, no problem. Except the return didn't credit back the $10 in store coupons I'd used. To replace the defective product they sold me, they wanted me to pay $10 more than I originally paid. For what it's worth, the staff here have always been friendly and knowledgeable. This isn't about them. It's about the store refusing to exchange a defective item. I'd bought cat litter here for the last 15 years, but I won't be back.

The sign was at the front of the store for the event, we looked around and saw nothing. A girl who was working asked if we needed any help, we pointed to the sign and said we came for the photos. She didn't know anything about it (not HER fault, that is a fault of the store manager) and went in search of a coworker for more info. A not-so-friendly young guy said they weren't doing it - so why have a sign???? - but pointed to some free treats if we wanted any (no). Petco's marketing department shipped them the sign, surely the store manager knew to actually do something for the event? Nice idea by Petco with a bad execution in Waltham. I looked on Facebook later (where I had seen it advertised in the first place) and people around the country posted that they had also gone to stores that weren't doing anything. Also had a 20% off storewide coupon for the day but didn't bother to buy anything. It's a convenient location but the store also needs a remodel so it isn't stuck in 2005.
