10 oz flank steak with broccolini instead of frites
    Chelsea J.

Enjoyed another delicious steak dinner here. They didn't have the steak listed on the menu and substituted a flank steak with choice of side (fries, asparagus, or risotto). I chose the risotto and it was great, not too rich since there was cauliflower and veggies added. The serving size was very generous of steak and risotto. They've changed the happy hour, it's now from 4-6 (even better than 3-5) and still 20% off the entire menu. Service was very friendly. It's worth noting the food takes a long time to come out, even if it's slow. We weren't in a rush so it was fine. Can't wait to return.

Not sure why this place only has an overall 3.5 stars rating, our experience overall was 5/5 and food was 4.5/5. We came a bit too late for lunch and too early for HH. I wanted to check the area out, Mercado San Augustin. We were there around 2 something and Agustin HH doesn't start until 3pm. During their HH, everything on the menu is 20% off. Service was great, our server was wonderful and so lovely! I love the decor and feel of the place. They have the main dining section and then a bar/coffee/HH/everything else in between section. The main dining area has a feel of a fancy wine restaurant, and the HH bar area has a cozy after coffee date vibe. Food was delicious! We had the salmon, half chicken, fish and chips, and the turnip salad! Everything was delicious and their fries were very crispy. The half chicken was delicious but that takes 30 mins, FYI. We also got the tiramisu and pain killer (coconut gelato) for desserts and they were excellent.

Went here twice this year already once for brunch and once for dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful both times. I had the fish and chips and the shrimp and grits and both were very good. The fish was nice and crispy and there was a nice portion, the fries were really good. The shrimp and grits were so good I will be back for that. Definitely worth a try.

This visit was waaaay better than the last. Came here with the family to have linner before going to see The Nutcracker. We had unneeded reservations and sat on the bar side of the restaurant, I'm guessing, to keep the foot traffic on one side of the restaurant since there were not that many patrons. It was fine and we were well taken care of the entirety of our meal. I had a yummy cosmo to start then went straight for my entree, braised short ribs served with overnight carrots and creamy, Yukon gold potatoes. The short ribs were almost as good as the ones I make. Loved the carrots and potatoes. I would have wolfed down my meal but didn't want everyone at the theater knowing what I had for dinner. I'm glad cuz leftovers stood the test of overnight in the fridge. I would love for this place to be my local go-to restaurant but it has been hit or miss for me. And it is mostly on the service side. As someone who has worked in food service in hotels and restaurants, some from opening day, I can tell you that on top of serving a quality meal, consistent service standards are key. I know. It's no duh, but it doesn't always occur. I am glad that we caught AK on a good day because it was the first time for one of us.

The service from Scout at the bar was great! Very attentive staff Unfortunately, extremely unimpressed with this menu entree, even as a to-go/take-out order. Objectively a lazy dish that was put together & does not match the price at AK.

Delicious breakfast sandwich with aioli, arugula, bacon or sausage, brioche, and egg, with a generous portion of home fried potatoes and a couple pepper on the side. I ordered as takeout and service was friendly and quick on a Saturday morning. Pastries look delicious as well!

I tried Agustin Kitchen's new café for brunch this morning, and I absolutely loved it! It of course has all the charm of the Mercado and Agustin Kitchen that we know and love, and adds to that a bright, fun breakfast menu and lots of pastries. It was a delicious meal in a beautiful space. We got the latke with egg and lox, the breakfast sandwich, kombucha, and an iced coffee. Everything was excellent! I especially liked the latke itself, which was a well-made, thick potato pancake that paired perfectly with the light and fresh elements of herbal cheese and greens, as well as the richer components of the egg and lox. The staff were super friendly, and it was fun to have a casual morning meal in the same space I usually think of as a special-occasion dinner restaurant. I really, really loved it and I can't wait to go back.

Wow, great new feature added to this restaurant. Breakfast! Amazing gourmet entres. I had the cinnamon thingy. It was awesome. Velvet had the breakfast sandwich. Herbed scrambled eggs, nutsuke bacon and arugula. Served with home fries. Great dog friendly patio or inside dining. Great service.

I came here for birthday and i was very pleased with the service and the food! I had no idea they have some of the best oysters because they source from a reputable distributor that provides high quality and fresh oysters and that says a-lot coming from a seafood snob! Lol The desert was super pretty and esthetic looking. The burgers fries and salads were also super delicious. We also came back during the holidays on a super busy night and the service was still exceptional. I love that the have outdoor seating area and can also be seated inside which is just as nice and lovely vibes. I will definitely be coming back.

We went on a Sunday for lunch. It was not that busy. This was our first time visiting and everything was absolutely excellent.

    Breakfast Plate
    Caron M.

Was shopping on a Sunday in Mercado and realized we were hungry- Augustine was surprisingly empty, but the two friends I was with had been before and said it was great, so we stoped in. The space is airy and lovely, so we sat inside. There were only a few other tables occupied but it was nearly ten minutes before our water glasses were even filled. This was done by a bald gentleman who didn't say a word to us- we thought he was a busser as a result. So we were very surprised when another ten minutes passed and he showed up again and asked if we were ready. He never introduced himself, never offered to take a drink order, and let our water glasses sit empty multiple times. It was brunch, so the three of us ordered two farmer's salads and a breakfast plate. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive, and the salads were great. But the breakfast plate- which was ordered with three eggs over easy- arrive with two eggs that were flat but sort of poached, and definitely medium. They were also served in a small bowl on top of each other, making them near impossible to eat. Again, no filling our water, no checking if the food was ok, or even offering or bringing salt and pepper (which the poached eggs desperately needed). When the server dropped off the bill, we saw he'd rung in the eggs incorrectly, even though he'd repeated the order back to us when we placed it. Not a great experience- the food was expensive so none is us will be hurrying back.

Comfy and Warm setting of the restaurant. Very open and inviting. The service was excellent. Proper service and guest experience was provided. The food was good - ranking 8 out of 10. Appetizers were more on the salty side. Our steaks were ordered medium rare but was delivered as medium well probably because it may have rest for too long. Presentation of each plates were neat and clean. Recommend indoor seating to enjoy its ambiance. Food recommendations: Mussels (100%) and Pork Rack

Located downtown, I found free street parking and then walked over an hour before close on a Tuesday. Ambiance (4.5/5): Juniper gives off speakeasy vibes without being a speakeasy. Elegance and sophistication without being stuffy. There's a long bar and some small tables. I sat at a table. The bar is clean and there's a cool wheel in the middle of the bar that lists out all of the herbs, fruits, and other garnishes that are often used in cocktails. Service (4/5): The bartender started off well, greeting me promptly and then asking for my order after I had looked over the menu for a few minutes. Later on, she went outside and smoked a cigarette for a bit which you probably shouldn't do if you're the only bartender working. That delayed my second drink a bit. All good though, she let me stay after close to finish my drink. Food (N/A): To my knowledge, they don't have food. I had dinner prior. Drinks (5/5): Juniper is Tucson's only gin cocktail lounge. That means gin is what's for dinner. If you're not a gin drinker, probably not your spot. If you do like gin, as I do, you'll be impressed with the significant collection they have. There's an interesting list of creative craft cocktails. That's where I started my night. From there, I picked out a bottle of gin, and had the bartender fix me a simple cocktail with it. I don't think I've ever been to an exclusively gin bar prior to Juniper. Cool spot!

We'd heard good things about this place and have been trying to support local downtown bars this summer, so we stopped in around 11 on a Friday night before heading home. As we sat down, we watched the bartender be pretty dismissive toward another group at the bar, so we were already a little unsure. We started talking about the decor because we liked the eclectic vibe. We jokingly pointed out that one of the pictures had a joint instead of a cigarette because someone in our group hadn't noticed. One of the bartender's first comments back, completely seriously, was, "I'm from San Diego. Have you never seen art before?" Honestly... what? It was such a weird, unnecessarily condescending response. I brushed it off at first as awkward banter, but it was a really strange first impression. The drinks were decent. The Loverlist was really good, and the Unicorn Fluff and Old Fashioned were fine. The bartender was quick to talk up their whiskey selection, but when we asked for a recommendation, she mostly gave reasons why she couldn't recommend anything and just kept saying they had "over 90 different options." Without a whiskey menu to look through, that wasn't especially helpful. We also asked for a shooter and were offered half of a cocktail instead. That would've been totally fine on its own, but combined with everything else, the service just never felt welcoming. We ended up leaving pretty quickly. I'd give the place another shot because the atmosphere is fun and has a lot of potential, but hopefully with a different bartender behind the bar.

It's a fun and also elegant atmosphere with the zebra theme clearly exemplified across the space. I would have to say this is one of the coziest bars I've been to, the furniture and seating is really supportive of a long-term visit. There are other levels, lower and an upper level besides the main space, but be aware that if there are parties, they can typically take up different areas. Our bartender, Sarah was fantastic! The way that she handled all of the guests and the busy field was incredible, so calm and collected, and furthermore making some really incredible drinks. Heads up that the online drink menu is not the current drink menu, I couldn't remember all the names of our drinks and put those in the photo captions, so when I checked on the website, the menu was showing something different other than what I saw at the bar. Out of several places I've been to, I'd say the mixture of flavors and details in the drinks are quite unique. I'll be back for more one day

I've never had a soft taco feel this elevated. The carne and the other ingredients were cut into similarly small pieces, giving each bite a clean, even texture. And the zig‑zag of fresh guac across the top didn't just add richness; it made the whole thing look brighter, fresher, and more inviting. It's a testament to the idea that you don't have to complicate a simple dish like a carne asada taco to elevate its flavor. Simple, fresh, authentic Sonoran ingredients will do it.

Service (4/5): The bartender did a decent job taking care of me. It wasn't busy at all. There was a group of two people outside, me, and that's it. She could have done a better job checking in and being more attentive, but given the number of people that were there, it wasn't tough to get a hold of her. A nice touch that Sonora does is they have postcards that you can fill out. They will send it out for you free of charge. Drinks (4/5): Sonora has an interesting list of craft cocktails, many of them with a focus on Mexican spirits including tequila, mezcal, and sotol. I tried two cocktails and they were both good. I ended up going with the queso fundido which is a Mexican cheese blend with birria. The cheese is served on a hot platter and it's stretchy. You have tortilla chips that you use to scoop up some of the cheese. While not a huge portion, it was exactly what I wanted. Traditionally, it's served plain or with chorizo. Birria here is a nice touch. Pro tip: They have a speakeasy in the basement that's open several nights a week.
