The cocktails are truly art form & tasty & they have an incredible mezcal selection if you're into mezcal. Deejay was phenomenal. His name is HydeClip & he plays really well. Definitely knows how to get people moving. Most importantly service. Mauricio was our server & he was on top of everything. His communication really exceeded all expectations. I came to this location for dinner, not to stay the night. I've heard that the most recent management doesn't manage the hotel portion well, but my experience with the food and drinks was pretty great. They don't have english menus here, and the server never came to take out order until we asked, then they brought the wrong drinks to the table a few times, but the place (3 stories) was pretty packed. I had never tried bug before but both the pomegranate and the grasshopper were a nice touch on top of the guacamole. The cactus was chewy, delicious and flavorful. Awesome architectural design which oddly sits in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We came here after a recommendation, and the views were spectacular. The food was disappointing though. The cheese plate had MASSIVE amounts of cheese which were cut into 4 inch slices, and none of them tasted that distinctly different from one another and was otherwise flavorless. We also ordered a pasta dish with shrimp which was good, but the shrimp was not peeled, leaving us to peel it with our hands before eating it. Came during a very empty Friday afternoon. The dj played music appropriate to the amount of people there (unlike Casa de Frida where we visited minutes before. The Djs were blasting music WAY too loud for the very few people inside and for being early afternoon). Loved the Peruvian house music vibes. Anyway we have been wanting to check this place out. Cool interior and I always love rooftops. Server was lowkey the worst. He just came to drop off menus without a hello, welcome, no info. Once we decided to order craft beers (there were only 2 on the list) he goes Oh we don't have any. -ok you has one job- to cross off what's not on your menu or tell us before handing the menu. We also just game from drinking lovely craft mezcal cocktails and were disappointed that their menu was blank and they were all wine infused drinks. No mixology allowed here I guess. If they spent time hiring craft cocktails masters and ramping up their menu (and duh having craft beer in stock) people would spend more money and time here- and maybe it wouldn't be completely empty on a Friday afternoon. I should have listened to the reviews on TripAdvisor and gone elsewhere. NASTIEST bed sheets. Hair all over the bathroom and shower. The disgusting sheets were the complete dealbreaker. You can't see it very clearly in my pictures but it looked like someone cleaned their nose on the sheets and questionable body fluid stains. And I only uncovered the top right corner. We got into bed past midnight and the lobby never answered to get clean sheets. We had to sleep in top of the comforter and used the bath robes as blankets. They take your temperature and info for contact tracing. Staff all wear masks and customers wear masks to enter, but many people dining will be walking around with no masks. Our server took a long time to come see us after we were seated. The menu is on a QR code on all of the servers' waists. Note that the menu is all in Spanish if you are a tourist. The server did not give anyone water unless requested. They also weirdly wrote down the orders of only half of our table then left. At least 10 minutes passed before they walked by again and we bothered them to take the rest of our orders. The appetizers came quickly, but the entrees took a very long time. Some people in our party did not receive their entrees until some of us had already finished eating and had our plates taken away. They also kept trying to bring the wrong drinks to our table when everyone already had their drinks except one. It took at least 40 minutes before that person finally got their drink. I stumbled upon this restaurant on my way out of a dirt road from a vineyard located internally at the footbed of the mountains in valle. The first thing I notices was to beautify sound of birds singing all around and in the restaurant. Little beautiful sparrows sang as I ate my delicious dishes of seafood creations. I must say it was lovely. The Agua de Piedra sparkling water was wonderful and not as gassy as others. I ordered oysters from Baja. The stairs are so cool. Absolute dump. I am a very experienced Valle de Guadalupe wine hunter, and thought it would be nice to stay a night in their post-modern house-pods. Good location, a few klicks from Cielo, but that's where anything good comes to a screeching halt. Filthy rooms, hair in the shower, stained walls in the toilet area, NO HOT WATER - After several visits by their less than enthusiastic maintenance guy, it was barely warm. No TV, no phone. These things are fine, but if you're just looking for a stylish place to sleep, the bed will make you run away. Stains, bedbugs and odd smells galore; this couldn't get worse, right? Wellll... Yes. So the cool, swinging glass doors of the pod don't actually have a door knob. So, to prevent late night murder fun, you actually lock yourself in with the key. Meaning if you lost the key in the room somewhere... You'd be stuck. Restaurant food was quite poor, and as much as I hate to say it... There were no redeeming qualities here. What so harsh? A poor approximation of luxury. Stayed at this hotel over the weekend with a group of over 20 people. At the time of booking, we underbooked by 1 room and when we called to add another one they said they were full. Oddly enough, when someone in my party 5 minutes later tried to book separately, there was no issue due to being charged a different rate. Once I was there? Tons of empty rooms. This place is named like a watery Oasis and yet somehow every well of water was dry. It tries to mask its deficiencies via an ecological facade - for example, to conserve water there's a sign that limits hot showers to 14 minutes, but in reality there's no timer and no promise of 14 minute showers: the hot water tanks are shared and tiny as fuck and good luck if the person after you wanted to scrub their big toe. Oh yeah and they refill glass bottles of shampoo etc. (MIND YOU THERE'S NO HANDSOAP) to save the environment but there are plastic water bottles in every room. The construction of the rooms is shoddy at best - leaky seams and poorly graded showers mean mold growth. THE ROOM KEYS ARE UNIVERSAL so don't bother locking your valuables. There are gas powered space heaters which present a fire hazard but there is no fire safety system (no smoke alarm and definitely no sprinklers). Worst of all there isn't after hours reception so good luck when the party nearby comes parading through after the club closes screaming loudly that they're on ecstasy. Good luck if you need an extra room towel or more toilet paper to wipe down your prison pocket. There's after hours security but without a phone in your room or a pamphlet to connect to the wifi good luck even figuring out how to call the police when shit goes down. The only reason I give this place one star: - The included breakfast is pretty good - Yelp forced me to do it At these prices you're better staying literally anywhere. read more

Manager was such a great guy! He gave us a bit of back history of the Oaxaca culture, ingredients used in the food and told us abt the mezcal in the drinks. Stayed here for two nights & it was an amazing experience! The staff is extremely kind & professional. The architecture is beautiful. The food is delicious! Try the salad that comes with all kinds of picked vegetables & an out-of-this world balsamic. The molote appetizer (sweet platano served w an incredible mole) was so delicious! The tacos with carne asada were outstanding. So many flavors that make these tacos unique. The cocktails are awesome & the vibe on the rooftop bar is great- awesome music and an incredible view of the wine valley! The sleeping units are huge, with comfortable beds & a beautiful bathroom, w huge washbasins. The only drawback was that the glass doors leading into the units don't seal, so it was pretty cold in our room (with nighttime temps at below 50 Fahrenheit). The room had a heater over the bed but it was still pretty chilly anywhere but below the heater. However, this did not take away from the overall beauty & peacefulness of this property. My husband and I stayed here so we could attend a family weekend. My husband's two other cousins and their wives also stayed here. At first glance, it's quaint with eccentric designs that capture the eye. We had a late lunch after checking in at the bar. Because of the sugary concoctions and local vegetation, there are bees EVERYWHERE! They were more of a nuisance than a hazard. Our room looks self sustained though we found out the power is wired in. Each unit has a split inverter which is great until the power went out. The room becomes a sauna without the AC. The shower has copper pipes. Be careful cause with hot water flowing, it will burn you. The labeling of the hot/cold pipes are VERY confusing so it took us a while to figure out how to get the right temp. The ambience here is very modern Oaxacan. Lots of the food are reminiscent of oaxacan style and flavor. They had nightly entertainment with music playing until midnight. For the remote location, it's great cause it's in the middle of the Guadalupe valley. The music, however, is to severely be desired. If they had 80's or 90's, it would totally attract the adults staying at the hotel. The rave music was such a turn off to all of us staying there. This hotel has such potential. OK friends. I will admit that after a deeper dive into reviews after booking here, I was worried. There were so many awful reviews about amenities and service and warmth, I was sure they must all be right. I forgot folks be cray and high maintenance and apparently not into preparing adequately for minor inconveniences. Agua de Vid hotel is an absolute delight, and Gustavo, Florencia, and Denise and their staff were ready to help at every turn. The property is outstanding. The main building has an open-air design which makes the space cold during the winter months - so dress warmly and you won't be off-put by it. There are fireplaces and places to cozy up. The top floor is a fabulous rooftop bar that comes alive at night with DJ and party goers. The rooms are SO cool. Each is its own little concrete structure with a patio for watching the sun set. Yes, you only get 14 minutes of hot shower each day, but this is typical for off the grid hotels and saves water. The people who complain blow my mind. Share a shower if you're with a lover. Propane heaters are placed in the rooms during cold months. I asked for help each night turning them on and our room was so cozy. PRO TIP - bring slippers to keep your feeties warm on the concrete and tiled floors in the room and you will feel like a million bucks. Brekkie is included - a lovely marmalade with soft bread, coffee, fresh OJ, and juevos rancheros with beans and little sausages. You can rent ATVs and explore the region!! We had a blast doing this. Free parking, and I HIGHLY suggest driving or renting a car. Taxis are hard to come by and though you could make do using the ATVs to get to the nearby vineyards, you'd be cheating yourself out of the full experience of exploring the expansive region and its offerings. If you do need or want a taxi (and are NICE when asking), kind folks at the front desk like Gustavo can put you in touch with someone who can drive you around (we spent $45 round trip each nights for transpo to dinner and IMMENSELY appreciated it). Ok now... i have to admit that the hotel had some issues while we were there. The electricity was on the fritz and went out several times a day on Saturday Valentine's day weekend . I felt awful for them because it was a holiday weekend and I'm sure they could have made a lot of $ at the rooftop bar. But everyone took it with stride and they ended up closing the rooftop later that night through Sunday eve to re route energy to the hotel rooms which as a guest we really appreciated. Unfortunately the issue w electricity meant the hot tub was out of commission which was a big bummer - but not the end of the world. We got a free night for our next trip as compensation which felt very fair to me. I also must admit that there was an Issue with water leaking through our glass doors into the room when the gardener used the spout on our patio to water the walkway and plants in the morning. The staff was incredibly apologetic and compensated us for the issue and promised to tell the gardener to stop using that spout so it wouldn't be an issue for future guests. It sounds like this is an issue when it rains as well so - don't come during rainy season. Listen, maybe I'm more easy going than most, but I don't really think so. THEN COME HERE. i stupidly booked two nights here bc i saw it on a list of "hot spots" in Valle de Guadalupe and clearly thought it was going to be amazing. however, i was completely utterly shocked at what i saw when we arrived and so so so soooo disappointed. please avoid this place at all costs if you want to come to this part of mexico to relax. 1) the rooms look like prison cells. concrete walls, concrete floors, a bed and a dirty shower and toilet. no tv, no hair dryer, no iron, no fridge and no hot water. 2) speaking of hot water, you can only take showers for 14mins until the water turns cold and they claim that they're "saving 1million gallons of water", however i saw a water heater in the back the size of my one year old, so it's a joke. also, plan for a 7min shower bc it def isn't 14mins of heat. 3) there's a trash pile right behind the rooms. why did this place make any list?!?! definitely not fancy... 4) if you're coming during the cold season, just know the heater DOES NOT WORK and you will freeze 100%. if you're coming during any rain, be prepared to have your room flooded. 5) none of the rooms have real doors so be prepared for any outside weather condition to enter your room. 6) if you have children - DO NOT- i repeat DO NOT COME HERE. 7) the food is terrible and overpriced for what they have. this place is literally a facade. if you look at the photos, it's just a gimmick to make you think you're about to have some "cool, unique experience" in some fancy architecture but it's a total joke and at the cost of your comfort and happiness. low quality, dirty and only one person speaks english. if he's not there, and you don't speak fluent spanish, you're screwed. this place is also not at all kid friendly. we forfeited our second night because i needed to leave asap. the new hotel we are at is a complete 180 from where we were, i can't believe we suffered that bad! and during breakfast so many guests were trying to get refunds bc everyone experienced the same thing!! it was like life was punishing us by staying in this place! just avoid it fully!!!! read more

We stopped by to catch the sunset, as suggested by many, on the roof top bar. The design of this place is top notch, we we all blown away by the architecture and open space (literally no walls). Drinks were solid and reasonably priced. A few stuck with beers, while some tried drinks off the menu all perfect. The music also complemented the modern environment with deep house beats. As a Tijuana native, I have never been so embarrassed by how a Server from Agua de Vid can take complete advantage of an American Tourist...I was hosting a Bachelorette party of 7, we arrive and ordered 2 drinks vodka with cranberry juice and 4 shots of tequila. Server brings the table a bottle of Vodka and a tray of bottles of cranberry juice. When we told him that is not what we ordered, he returned back with 2 water down Cranberry and "Vodka" drinks which I completely 100% believe there was NO "2oz" Vodka in the drink and in addition 4 shots of tequila with different size of shot glasses. Total bill was 1300 pesos which converted in dollars close to 70 dollars. Word of advice Agua de Vid, know your servers and spot check what they are serving, but mostly remember that first impression counts and this first time counted and we will Not return. I have heard that one bad review by word of mouth becomes 20 people not going or considering not going to a bad review location. I stayed here with my mom for two nights on Christmas. I had a private bungalow and my mom stayed in one of the 'king suites'. PRO: The food in the restaurant is phenomenal. Unfortunately, in winter, you have to huddle up next to a heater while you try and enjoy your food. Andres, the gentleman who operate the front gate, etc, is really awesome. He really understands hospitality and was accommodating. They are really dog friendly. CONS: The road to the hotel is not good. It's off of a paved road and it has many large potholes in it. Since it had rained a lot of the holes were filled with water. It caused a lot of anxiety and it wasn't good for my car. This place is not set up to operate during the winter. It's an open-air concept hotel and is not conducive to cold weather and rain. There aren't TVs in the bedrooms and the only area that had a TV was completely open to the outdoors and it didn't have any heaters in it. It wasn't usable the entire stay. The hot tub wasn't working The fire pit area was flooded, thus not operational The heaters in the room never got above 66 degrees. Because the rooms are cement and the doors are glass that don't seal, there was always a breeze. When it rained, all of the rooms had water come in through the doorway. I requested an additional heater for my room and they brought a propane heater, not sure if that is even safe but I was desperate. It ended running out of fuel in the middle of my second night and my room then dropped of 61 degrees. Since there aren't phones in the room and I just braved sleeping in the cold. The SPA is a beautiful but it wasn't a good spa experience. It was cold and the massage therapy wore a mask and kept her jacked on the entire time. I had a 50 minute massage and after 30 minutes she said 'done'. Since they don't speak any English there I just had to accept it and go. I speak some Spanish but not enough to hold a conversation about why it ended so early. Of course I was charge for the entire thing. SUMMARY: I think this place would be a completely different experience in Spring & Fall. I just don't think they are set up to operate in the winter. The website does not accurately reflect what the experience will be like. All of the guests who were staying there at the same time were all really disappointed. I hate to give this place such a low rating but it's really not worth the money. We stayed here 3 nights. The rooms themselves are bare bones, tiny which is fine but the pillows are hard AF and the blankets are thin AF. Our thirst night the heater broke which sucks when it's 42 degrees out. There's no phone to contact front desk so you are on your own after dark. I feel that for the price you should at least have heat and access to a receptionist. The food at the restaurant was mediocre. Def more expensive than other restaurants in Valle and no where near as good. I wouldn't stay here again for the price or what you get. 2 stars for the dj that plays on the rooftop bar on Sat nights. This hotel lacks in many areas. The hotel is surrounded by a barbed wire fence and has a view of old trailers and houses. So you're not getting a view of vineyards or a beautiful country side. The pool was dirty and had debris floating in it, including a plastic water bottle. Parts of this hotel looked abandoned. The spa is not easy to find, The building looks like an unfinished building with no sign. They don't provide towels or Robes. My friend and I booked a massage and they put her and I in the same room. They have no changing facilities so we had to undress in the same room which is not the biggest deal but I thought it was strange. And also no place to set clothes or shoes as we see in other spas. The music they play was so loud I couldn't relax during the massage. The hot stones were way too hot. To the point where it wasn't enjoyable. Don't expect a relaxing spa experience. Wouldn't recommend the spa. The toilet in our room had a bad septic tank or sewage smell. And the towels in the room had a bad smell too. The heater in our room didn't work. It was cold in the evenings so just had to deal with a cold room. The rooms don't have phones so we had to use our personal phones to call the front desk, and unfortunately our rooms wifi only worked 1 out of the 3 nights we were there. Very annoying. The restaurant food was ok. The lunch and dinners were better than the breakfasts. My avocado toast was literally just mashed avocado (with no flavor) on brioche bread, which is not a good combination. Sweet and avocado don't go together and no other bread options. You can't charge anything to your room, unless you specifically put a deposit down. No one told us this upon checking in. So it was inconvenient to have to pay as you go while consuming at the hotel. At one point the waitress told us only cash tips. We thought it was sketchy since the days before, gratuity had been included in the bill. The staff is very friendly and I would suggest that they put as much effort in their facilities as they do with the customer service training. I would not stay at this hotel again. read more

This place was the worst experience I have ever had traveling. Unfortunately the problem is with the bar /food staff. The bar tender doesn't know how to make any drinks! They have a Moscow Mule on the menu. Please do not order it unless you want a mojito. I did not send it back even though it was the wrong drink! The worst wast my cousins experience, he ordered a Paloma it tasted like lemonade, then he ordered Jose Curveo traditional blanco with soda, they brought him water with lime. He informed the waiter Of lack of alcohol, the waiter brought back a drink that they claimed had a double shot. I'm sorry there are three people in our party all who are not new to a alcoholic drink, and none of us tasted any tequila. The straw that broke the camel's back is when they brought back a deconstructed tequila soda. So what he has to make his own drink? I thought we were paying for service. But the kicker of everything was when we finally brought it the " manager's" Rodolfo attention and he offered my cousin a glass of wine, unfortunately the glass of wine was spited in. This fool thought we wouldn't notice. When we confronted him about it he had nothing to say. Unfortunately the hotel manager did nothing to Restore our trust in staying the night at the property, so had to leave. So my advice is not to stay here but if you do please avoid the bar!! read more

The locations and atmosphere is nice. The rooms have a cool vibe. But not worth the price. When you come to El Valle, your looking for good wine, good food, adequate accommodations. Well you won't find it here. The Bar (Alcohol menu) is minimal. They only have wine from one winery. The AC did not work in our room and it took 2 hours for them to finally give us a new room, despite all the rooms around us being empty. The bar area is nice but again the alcohol selection is very minimal. The crowd consisted of what appeared ( after confirming with other male members of the family) like highly suspect for female prostitution. The pools were dirty and jacuzzi not working. Overall we will not be staying here again. There are much nicer places. read more

Perfect place for food n drinks. Definitely high end vibe. Music great n service top notch. Can't miss when in Valle.

Situated in the northern part of the Valle, Agua de Vid is a few extra blocks away from the vineyards, but worth it. It is a boutique hotel that combines modern industrial design with an eco-friendly ethos. Great restaurant and rooftop bar. The best part of Agua de Vid is that they manage to merge sustainability and design. Wine bottles are carved into water glasses. Since they recycle shower water, Agua de Vid offers up environmentally safe shower products in reusable glass jars (note: you're not allowed to use your own shower products so dont bother bringing them). Love the industrial lighting, tile work, and modern art (a torn apart car) in the main building. Service was spot on. There is an AC if you need it. Only compliant is the cabin doors are a little difficult to close after you've been wine tasting all day :) read more

Really love this place. They have a fantastic bottle of red and white. We went on a Monday, although a little quiet, the architecture is beautiful. I will say, seems a bit on the pricey side. read more
