i was pleasantly surprised when i saw this truck at macarthur park because i'd been wanting to try this truck for a while. i'd been craving west african food, and i was not disappointed by the food. i thought about ordering the vegan, but i went with the fish since it was just a dollar more and the fish is wild caught. not everyone is a mackerel fan, but i am. a good-sized portion of mackerel is served on jollof rice with sauteed greens and fried plantains on the side. everything was so flavorful. the plantains were piping hot and slightly crispy, just the way they should be. you can ask for hot sauce which is quite spicy and so delish. very satisfying meal! the service can be a bit slow, but hey it's fresh food.

I hit this food truck in DTLA, honestly only because the line was shorter than the others and it looked intriguing. I ordered the fish plate with extra hot sauce and it was AWESOME. Had an entire fried mackerel with some plantains w/ rice & beans. Flavorful, well-seasoned and memorable. Really, really good and fast. Loved it.

I got the chicken this time. It was good. The rice is really delicious as well. Maybe I'll get the fish next time.

Two Hommés is truly an absolute gem in Inglewood and I highly recommend coming here because of how they've blended West African, Mexican, West Asian, and American ingredients & flavours - the food is a lovely mix of feeling light & fresh, paired with more meaty (but not dense) options, and overall very delicous. Pro-tip: Make a reservation online through Resy - this restuarant qualifies for AmEx's Resy credit! Layout & seating: The front-door faces the main streetThere are high tables, bar seating, and low tables throughout the area. I haven't used their bathroom, so I can't speak to that. Parking: There's a free, public parking lot in the back that's shared with the school, so be mindful that you're not parking in designated spots during school hours. Other times, e.g., weekends, it's fair game. It thankfully has never been packed, so I have been able to grab a spot for myself. Accessibility: The door is a little heavy, but there are no steps to get inside from the street, so that's good. The inside can feel a little cramped. Ambiance: During the late afternoon, the sunlight filters and the entire dining area feels nice but not too bright. Service: Very prompt and attentive; friendly staff. What I've tried: Pre-Summer menu 1. Duck Dibi Ssam: Senegalese smoked lamb shoulder, bib lettuce, green Shito, pickle, and suya peanuts; $52 I love the combination of Senegalese and Korean dishes here to create this juicy duck dish. I do wish there was more Shito because the amount you get is not enough for the entire plate and extras have a cost. 2. Jollof Platter: Ghanaian jollof, bomb azz black beans, plaintains, arugula salad; sauces: Scallion, BBQ jerk, cilantro-lime cream; added on root beer braised short rib; $28 + 22 (protein add-on) Absolutley tender, fall-off-the-bone short rib in a rich mole-like root beer sauce. The jollof was well cooked - definitely parboiled before cooked off at the end with the seasoning & spices, and nicely smoked. The beans were simple, but I do remember tasting the bay leaves and seasoning. The plantains were soooo well cooked; crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside. Summer menu 1. Suya Mushrooms and Greens: Oyster mushroom, snap peas, peanuts; $15 Absolutely scrumptious mix of suya, fresh & crunchy snap peas, and just smokey enough. I cannot stress how much everyone must try this dish, if nothing else on the menu. 2. This is, A Tasty Burger: Short rib, caramelised onions, pickles, cheddar, Gold-Coast BBQ sauce, fries; $23 Not heavy, but very filling and juicy; loved the BBQ sauce - I think there was mustard in there? Either way, the flavours were so "simple" yet flavourful. The meat felt "light", if that makes sense. 3. Lamb + White Bean Hummus: Flatbread, yassa onions, (ground) lamb bits; $21 The hummus felt very traditional Palestinian/Syrian and the ground lamb was delicious. The flatbread was reminiscent of the flatbreads from the Levant, Khubz Arabi or a type of pita - soft, pillowy, and perfect for hummus. 4. Smashed potatoes: Labneh, Lula Mae's chilli oil, fried rosemary; $15 This feels like their version of Batata Harra and it was nice; loved the fried rosemary and garlic - so crunchy and flavourful. Really rich & tangy labneh - I wonder if it's homemade or from a Lebanese store? 5. Drinks: Hommémade lemonade (jamaica) and Mocktail of the week Love the (spicy pineapple) Both drinks were well-made - a little tart, a litle sweet, and well mixed. My absolute favourite items have been the duck and the Suya Mushrooms and Greens; I cannot wait to go back and order more of the latter and try out the Big Fish, and finally try the desserts! My only issue is the noise; there's a TV that's on in the background, music playing overhead, and rather close seating to the next party (to the point that you can hear what they're saying rather clearly). Having a conversation is very difficult with all these competing sounds. Note: There is a time limit for parties of 4 or larger of 1.5 hours, so please be mindful as Two Hommés gets busy from opening to close.

S/O and I shared the vegan combo and dereq tibs, a pitcher of their infused water, an Ethiopian cream coffee, and a glass of palm tree (their arnold palmer). The food was fantastic. I loved every bite we had, especially the gomen (braised greens), cabbage and carrot, and the kik alicha. The dereq tibs, though? That was AMAZING. Tender beef, sweet stewed onion, the perfect amount of spice from the serranos. I loved that the dish is accompanied by senafich (a spicy, horseradish-y mustard) and mitmita (a DELICIOUS chili powder that I want to put on everything lol). The beverages were delicious, I love an arnold palmer and this one is probably the best i've ever had with their spiced tea. Their coffee was decadent and strong and perfectly balanced. And the banana split! I am not usually one for dessert but I knew I needed to try this and I'm SO glad I did. A symphony of textures and complex flavors. We may or may not have used our fingers to get the last bits from the dish. The place itself is like a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of the strip mall outside. Vibey music, beautiful furniture and decor, and all attention paid to the little details. Can't wait for them to reopen so we can come back!! Parking - strip mall was crowded, but street parking wasn't too bad to find.

This was super tough a rubbery, which is a disgrace and also impossible to eat with injera. But all the food was overspiced, which is a shame for any cuisine, let alone a the shining peak of deliciousness that is Ethiopian food. Let the ingredients shine a bit. Lentils are good, split peas are good, shiro is good. I get it that we are far from Fairfax here (let alone DC) and it's a great intention to bring Ethiopian to Eagle Rock, but for those that have eaten and cooked Ethiopian you are going to be disappointed.

There are multiple rooms with low to the ground couches and lots of pillows. You start with a hand wash and are then handed a bath towel as your napkin. This begins a very unique dining experience. The food is Tunisian. and absolutely outstanding. Most of the meal is eaten with fingers and a special bread. There are unusual salads with wonderful unexpected flavors. There is brik, a hard-shelled potato with egg that is so good. A pastry filled with chicken and cinnamon is just wonderful. We had as our main course a mouth-watering chicken with almond that just falls off the bone it is so tender and juicy. Dessert is baklava or an almond cake and mint and honey tea that is poured 3 feet above a tiny glass and never a dropped missed. There are a variety of set menus that the whole table needs to agree upon. But you can order some extras if there is something you really want from one of their menu choices. I am not a meat-eater, but others in the party were, so we ordered extra beef brochettes. There is no way to eat everything that is brought although you wish you could. The good thing is you can take leftovers home and enjoy the meal a second night. There is lovely belly dancing to enhance the evening. The service is good and you do not feel rushed. The prices are incredible. Amazing value for the food you are receiving. I don't think they have raised their prices in years. The restaurant is on Sunset at Gower, but very hard to see from Sunset.
