thickest braids where my hair is the shortest

i showed soukaye my hair (12/22) prior to her agreeing to service me and let her know it's shorter in the middle, before & during the service i let her know i wanted small braids for that very reason. she said that was okay and i later on scheduled my appointment (12/24) for half fulani & individual braids, but as you can see in the pictures the thickest braids are where my hair is the shortest. i noticed a couple of days later that a little hair in the middle was left out (i thought it was left out, but really slipped out of the cornrows) i contacted soukaye to see if she could add individuals where the hair was out, which she agreed to; but when i asked if it would cost anything extra i got no response. i payed $240 for the service & left a $5 tip, a wash wasn't included & 1 pack of hair was provided by me; so im extremely upset that this is what my hair looks like 2 weeks later & has looked like this since a week after the appointment. not only that i had to leave my appointment so she could start & finish 2 other clients in between my appointment, which i didn't know about until after i was in the chair. it was a rushed service between her scheduling & trying to get home for the holiday, i wish she would've just turned me away or i would've caught the red flag she wouldn't be able to grip my hair properly with nails; but people don't turn down money & desperation clouds your judgement. if you have long hair im sure you'll have a better experience, but if not at the least go to someone without nail extensions.

Babygirl's hair turned out perfectly!

We just moved here from Atlanta where African hair braiding is on just about every corner. But I quickly realized that here they are hard to come by. I found Soukye on Yelp and I must say that I will be bringing mu daughter back for another appointment. My daughter's appointment was at 9 and we were done a little after 10. She opted to get her hair done in corn rows and they came out perfectly.

You can see the open sores on my scalp after I removed the braids.

I took my braids out Monday evening, 12/14/15, and my scalp is still very sore and tender. I have scabs all in the front of my head where the braids were the tightest. While i was taking the braids out my hair came out with the braids toward the edges. I am constantly putting Neosporin and oil on my scalp to help the scabs heal and the hair grow back.

I was referred by my sister to get my hair done here. Was happy to find something more local since…read moreI was previously going to Orange County. The vibes were cool, and the prices were reasonable. They also have clothes and shoes available up front, which I thought was a nice add on. I got my hair done by Taylor, who is sweet, charming, talented and technical. I wanted a cut and balayage, and she delivered! She does not push any additional services on you, and she seems very honest, She focused on balayage and doing long term care for "lived in" hair. I appreciated her services and loved my hair after.

I booked an appointment for 10:30am. I was called at 9:44am by another staff member who asked if I…read morecould come in at 10:45-10:50, as the stylist was running late. It seemed reasonable that they gave me enough notice, so I happily said okay. I arrived at around 10:48am, was checked in, and was told she was almost done. At 11:00 I was starting to get frustrated and was concerned I wasn't going to be seen soon. I then noticed my assigned stylist picked up a curling iron to begin curling her clients hair. I waited a few more minutes, just in case she wasn't going to be curling her entire head, and at 11:07 I had to walk up to the front desk and tell them I was leaving. The lady at the front desk seemed genuinely apologetic, but there was nothing that could really be done at that point. It's extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional to have a scheduled appointment run 40 min late. Update: The stylist also reached out directly via text to apologize and offer a complimentary service. This was very much appreciated. Thank you both for trying to rectify my experience. 4 stars for your efforts to address my concerns.
