I was looking forward to visiting this salon, but never even got the chance. I scheduled an appointment for 12:00 with Jackie. On the day of the appointment, I received a text from the stylist at 10:30 asking if I can come in at 2:00 instead. It wasn't a big deal to me so I agreed. Then when I was already on my way at 1:30 I received another text from Jackie that she cancelled my appointment all together. I'm not sure why she even has appointments if she is not going to go by them, especially after her sending multiple confirmation emails for the appointments. Do not book with Jackie Cabezas. The staff is all super friendly, the receptionist (kind woman) is always attentive, their response time in generally quick and provide clear communication. Reyna is literally that, a Queen. She's given me great advice based on what's best for me. I've gone with her twice and both times I leave feeling better and more confident. She showed me blow drying techniques after I told her the trouble I was having. Overall I feel like my needs were taken care of because she took the time to listen. She was also very honest about what she thought was best/doable based on the quality of my hair. She was also honest about what she could do. I know sometimes you'll show stylist an inspo pic and they end up totally missing the mark, not here. The vibe here is welcoming, friendly, and supportive. It's a bright space but can be a little cold so bring a light jacket. 10/10 I recommend. honestly, really disappointed in my experience. While my hair stylist was so kind, she did not follow the reference photos at all and left me with a botched hair cut in her personal style. I now have rounded, choppy bangs with pieces of hair that cant be more than 1/2 an inch while the rest is super uneven. She gave me followed none of my instruction and completely went free rein on my hair, which is just completely unsatisfying as a paying customer. Hellbent is the coolest, most professional salon I have ever been too! This salon is for everyone! I go for fantasy hair, while my mom and sister go for a natural hair color and yet we can all go to Hellbent! I usually go to Kayleigh or Regina for all my hair needs but I would trust anyone there. Everytime I have had my hair done I have had a chance to observe the amazing service and hair all the other stylist provide their clients. If my main girls were all booked up, I would not hesitate to go to any of the other stylists there. I've been coming to Hellbent for going on two years now and have nothing but positive things to say about my stylist Allie Alberti, @mind.on.hue on Instagram. Allie is very friendly, approachable, and super sweet. She always strikes the right cord with conversation, shes up for a chat if I am, but also has dialed the conversation back on days where it's obvious I'm more tired/less talkative. She also made me very comfortable I just left an appointment and was embarrassed about my scalp picking. Allie made no fuss about it and took care around the affected areas of my scalp to keep me comfortable. And on top of all that she's amazing at her job, I always give her total control, she's asks a few clarifying questions, and I have left happy every time. As for the shop, it's always clean, they serve drinks, everyone is friendly and approachable, music is on point.
