It has been really hard for me to find a salon that is good with color. Especially dealing with lightening darker hair without going to orange or yellow. I finally found my favorite salon!!! I will definitely be coming here regularly for all my hair needs. I went from dark hair to very light blonde in a few hours without the yellowy tones that I hate. Best of all? My hair is still extremely healthy. Denise did a wonderful job! I should point out that I do have A LOT of hair and I've gone blonde many times so I know all the hard work it takes to do this but Denise did such an awesome job. I selected this place because it had 5 stars and at $40 a haircut, the price was affordable for me. I called with no specific stylist in mind because clearly they all get great reviews. I was referred to Kathy, which I now understand is because she is the newest stylist there and probably is most in need of new clients. She was outstanding. OUTSTANDING. I came in with a picture from google about how I wanted my hair, which meant cutting off 10 inches and putting considerable layers in. She spent almost 2 hours with me, first cutting, letting it dry, and recutting it when I wanted more layers, then showing me multiple tips on styling it. My hair is somewhat difficult because it curls more in some areas, making a straight harder, but she had lots of patience and I ended up with a haircut I love. She even told me she guaranteed it, meaning if I didn't like something about it in a week or two, she'd fix it for free! She was easy to get an appointment with and fun to talk to. First time I've ever gotten out of a Hair Salon HAPPY with the results! I went in to the salon not expecting much, since all my other experiences with hair salons had been so disappointing. Decided to get a last minute haircut for my sister's wedding last month and tried my luck as a walk-in after work around 5:15pm on a Thursday. I was greeted by Kathy from the laundry room before I stepped inside the cute little salon. When she came in, she said she was done for the day and offered me an appt for the next day. I really didn't have time to delay it any longer & was making peace with the possibility of not getting a haircut, so I was super relieved when Kathy said she'd just take me right then. I also appreciated that she took her time and didn't rush nor seem bothered by the length of our session. Kathy was so kind, helpful and personable. I enjoyed talking with her while she cleaned up my damaged hair. She gave me more than just a cut, she demonstrated how to properly tease and curl my hair as well, all for $45. She curled all of my hair at no extra charge. She wasn't accepting credit at the time, but was willing to work something out for me. I just wrote her a check instead. Great work, lovely atmosphere, and affordable. My uncle usually does my hair in OC, but I'll likely go back when I need to stay local. read more

I've been going to Sarah for about 3 years now and she is FANTASTIC! She is always pretty booked and my schedule is insane but somehow she still manages to schedule me. This morning she colored and cut my hair at 7 a.m., what other stylist would do that? None that I've met. I trust her 100% with my hair. She is always so pleasant and she remembers her clients. I couldn't rave about anyone more than I do Sarah Wallace. My hair has a lot of colors in it from blonde, red, to the browns in-between. It's so easy to mess up but from the very first time I saw Sarah I've been blown away at how perfect it turns out. It's bold enough to be different but simple enough that it you don't really see how many colors there are unless you sped time looking. My entire life everyone who has cut my hair has put layers in it, she was the first to say I may like it better without. I've never been as happy as I was after that first cut. It looks amazing even when I'm too rushed to style it, and looks like I always imagined it and could never achieve because of the layers. I've never gotten so many compliments on my hair. She recently cut bangs for me which eveyrone knows can be nerve racking and I LOVE THEM. I knew when she said they would look good that I could trust her opinion. Denise is my girl!! Ive lived in Oceanside/Vista for a year now, and have not been able to find a hairstylist that was a.) a talented hairstylist or b.) a likable person Denise is both of these and more. Her goal truly is to please her customers and give them exactly what they asked for. I have a very difficult schedule to work with and she came in early on what was supposed to be her day off, just to fit into my schedule. Also, when she noticed that the dye wasnt sticking on my hair well, she went and did a spot dye, which obviously took up more of her time, but she didnt seem phased about it what-so-ever. She's also a really fun spirit. She is very easy to talk to and has so many stories that can make a two hour appointment feel like twenty minutes. I love her skill and her service. I made a last minute appointment while in CA to get my hair weaved/highlighted. Julie was so sweet and worked to fit me into her schedule. Once I arrived, Julie took a look at my hair and went over the different problems with the color from my stylist where I live. My hair was more of a golden color rather than the ash blond look I like. Julie took so much time to correct my color, point out what I should nicely mention to my stylist so I can get the same look. When Julie finished with my hair I was thrilled!! It's not always easy finding someone who can highlight blonde hair the right way-I can honestly recommend Julie for anyone looking for a professional and kind stylist! I'm so excited! I've searched for almost 5 years for a local hair dresser & have had quite a few disappointments. Denise listened to everything I said & nailed it! I've fixed my hair about the same for 30 years or more & I wanted an updated look. Something energetic, & easy to fix whether or not I'm on time restrictions. I can't stand my hair in my eyes, but I'm also a girly girl that likes curls. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it. The people here were very nice,and the prices are fair, but my hair turned out very different than what we agreed on. I almost never color my hair, but I decided to have a color gloss done. I asked them for dark brown with a little red mixed in, because I like auburn, but I don't want my hair to look brassy or unnatural. I left the salon with bright red hair. She kept having to go back and mix new color, even though I made sure to inform whoever set the appointment that I had hair half way down my back and inquired if they charged extra for long hair. I could have accepted that, even though it wasn't what I asked for, because I knew it was possible that we had a breakdown in communication... but glosses are semi permanent. The first time I washed my hair, the small amount of richness in color went down the drain and I'm left with streaky orange hair. read more

I was referred by a friend, and honestly, went to her simply because I was looking for a change (had been with my previous stylist for 6 years and felt like she had become a little lazy). Saying that Shannon is "amazing, courteous, and a joy to spend 2 hours of my life with" is a huge UNDERSTATEMENT. She takes great pride in her salon, her craft, and her business. When you are in her care, YOU are her priority. I've never left feeling rushed, unhappy, or unappreciated.
