It's so nerve wracking to find someone new to do your hair and not cheap around the SD area for any mess ups but I had a wonderful hair cut and color experience with Megan! It was easy to make my appointment online via her booking system I found on the Cedar and Ivy website. The services were super clear and easy for me to book and she even estimated the right amount of time for my thick hair full head of highlights which I soooo appreciated. The price was also estimated there which I expected to be on the higher end for the amount of hair I have so I appreciate the upfront menu. I showed her a few photos of what a previous stylist did I liked for the color and the cut and she understood right away. I left looking and feeling great- my only regret is not taking a before photo! If you're looking to book at Cedar and Ivy I recommend booking direct with your stylist on their booking platform. They also have Davines products for sale which I forgot to grab on my way out, but now I know they're there. Parking is street parking or if you're lucky finding a spot in a few of the lots close by but they were full the day I went. The salon is very cute inside, clean and minimalistic. I absolutely LOVE this salon! Right down to every detail, you can see that the owners poured their heart and soul into this space. First of all, it's gorgeous, second of all, there are two parking lots on the cross street Roosevelt, so the fact that I never have an issue finding parking and this is located in the heart of the village, is a score! Every stylist that works here is beyond talented and sweet and they always make me feel welcome. I happen to see the very talented Natalie, who is one of the owners. Not only is she bomb dot com when it comes to cut and color, but I swear to you, I'll never go anywhere else ever again just bc of her INCREDIBLE scalp massage. Alissa Vallee did my hair extensions for my wedding. They were absolutely perfect and I got SO many compliments from them. My hair was already long but she made it longer and more full with so much body! She is so incredibly talented and will make your hair look so natural and beautiful. Jenni Lorenz does my hair, cut, and coloring and she is so incredibly talented. I see her every six weeks for a conditioning and cut and every few months for color. I cannot get ahold of anyone to set up an appointment. I sent a text, I left a voicemail. Nothing. Very frustrating!

A couple of weeks ago I got the most devastating phone call from my hair salon - they told me that my girl - Natalie - no longer worked there. I was so distraught I couldn't focus for 2 hours, until I found her and got a hold of her (Yes, I totally stalked her online)! Long story short, she's now in her own salon with Jenni, also formerly of KCS and still in Carlsbad. Thank GOODNESS! I don't have to start all over after finding a new stylist (this girl is the stylist of my dreams) I just have to drive to a new location - I can handle that! I just got back from my first visit at the new set up and I couldn't be happier - and honestly - it's so much better than before. First of all the place is super cute, comfortable, not overly feminine or masculine but just perfectly designed - sleek and simple without being cold. (Sorry I totally spaced taking pics!) The atmosphere is much more relaxed and comfortable than KCS and you get the awesome one on one time with your stylist that (at least us girls crave). Natalie and Jenni are even glowing; you can tell that their new space is a much better fit. We laughed, we cried, and I left with the most amazing hair (as always) courtesy of Natalie. Jenni is also a rockstar - she's never done my hair but I would absolutely trust her with mine or anyone else I know too! They're also bringing a third stylist into the business in the next week or so - so there are plenty of awesome stylists to go around! They're still in the early stages of the business but you'd never know it walking in there and being made beautiful (or handsome) because of course, they brought their years of training and expertise with them. I'm SO happy and relieved and just on Cloud 9 that I didn't lose my stylist and that they're both doing so well! They also mentioned that at the end of every month they donate a portion of the profits to various charities. Big hearts and no shortage of talent - I'm telling you it's all here. If you're still seeking the perfect cut, color, and style consistently you need to come support these ladies at their new salon! I've been seeing Natalie one month shy of two years now and I've NEVER once left disappointed - just with an extra bounce in step (and hair)! I have called (left messages) sent emails to your suggested email address and nobody replies or calls back. I've been trying to get an appointment with Alissa. I've left detailed messages asking to please call me with my contact information with a Natalie. Nobody ever picks up the phone or emails me back. I have to assume your no longer in business or don't care to entertain new clients. If you are still in business, I would suggest getting a virtual receptionist they prove very helpful so you don't lose out on future clients and referrals. Cedar + Ivy is one of the best salons I've ever been to. I move roughly every three years and the thought of finding a new stylist/salon is always scary. I finally took the plunge and got on their books in March after they came highly recommended. I was wow'ed the moment I walked through their door! I specifically love this salon because Alissa and Natalie are the dream team, and they have that best friend energy (because they are BFFs in real life) which makes the entire experience super fun and empowering. There are other stylists there as well (I am sorry I don't know their names) but they also have great energy! I get my hair done by Alissa, and she is the freakin' bomb! I trusted her the moment I met her. She's turned my hair into something I enjoy flaunting and styling. All around, I am just always so excited when it's time to go in and get my hair done!
