I highly recommend Pamela for curly haircuts! I continue to come back because she does such a great job and my hair has never felt better. She knows her stuff! I also come to her for the temp gloss hair color for touching up my grey; she walked me through it and helped me pick out the perfect color, so I continue to come back for that as well. I cannot say enough good things about dolce Salon and specifically Julie, the owner, and Laurie Theodopolis a lovely person and an extremely skilled colorist and stylist. I was referred to Julie's salon by another salon with no booking available. I had a disaster to deal with and needed a color correction for a terrible hair color mishap. You see, I had been coloring my hair at home during all of the national lockdowns and at some point, I had purchased dye for my husband to cover his grey. His color is VERY dark brown. My color is Sicily blonde, which is a dark blonde with red highlights. Have you guessed what I did, yet? I touched up my roots with dark brown dye. An absolute disaster. When I realized what I'd done I showered it off and the dye contaminated the rest of my hair. (See photos) Julie asked her stylist Laurie if she could take on this challenge and she agreed. Moved to the area and too far away from my hair stylist of 15 years. Not easy to replace and especially when deciding to make a style change. Decided to take a chance and went to Dolce in Carlsbad Village and David was my stylist. He hit the mark in every way! It was a risk as I was changing from my pandemic long hair to a new style. David spent a lot of time with me discussing what I wanted, looking at photos of me with other hairstyles as well as photos of what I had in mind. I felt so assured that he understood me and what would look best. He also said he would err on the conservative side and we could always do more. I am SOOOOOOO pleased with my new style! I'm not proud to admit it but I've been going to Super Cuts for years. I have super long hair and I just figured the cut wouldn't make a difference when the hair is so long. It does. I can't believe how much lighter my hair felt, it had so much more volume and looked great. Julia was a true professional. She was able to identify my hair care needs with very little input from me. I seriously had no idea what I wanted because I know nothing about hair. She made recommendations for my cut and layers. It turned out fabulous. Crystal chandeliers, perfect decor and interior design give the place a swanky vibe. They had great hair products that left my hair silky smooth. When I was sat down for the hair wash my head was gently held up by a bolster in the sink. It was so relaxing. I didn't have to flex my neck while getting a scalp massage. I was shocked by the price. ONLY $50. I got a wash, cut, dry for $50 flat. I'm so happy with the service I received. I can't wait to go back. read more

TINA IS AN ARTIST AND SAVED MY HAIR!!! Tina helped me out of a hair crisis when she agreed to do a last minute color correction on a dye job gone wrong (from a salon I won't name in San Diego). It was the day before a big professional event for me and I had ORANGE hair-- I had gone to the other salon for ombre, but that stylist accidentally dyed it magenta, had to bleach it again, and the result was completely orange, completely brassy, had bizarre placement/an aggressive horizontal line, and damage to my previously-healthy hair. It was SO BAD that people asked if I did it at home. It was SO BAD that the other salon refunded me without question. It was SO BAD that apparently my family secretly wasn't going to tell me how bad it was (until after it was corrected.) It was SO BAD that other stylists were scared to even try to work on it-- until Tina. She basically took pity on me and very patiently and carefully did like four processes to get it back not only to a normal human color, but even achieved the soft rose gold I was originally going for! I started the appointment totally freaked out and with low expectations for anything other than hair that wasn't orange anymore, and I left with a beautifully done, flattering color that I was actually proud to wear. I've gotten a TON of compliments from my colleagues over the last few days and I'm excited to go back to Tina-- I'd recommend her to anyone! read more

I have not had my hair cut and styled professionally in over 2 years and I was embarrassed to let the stylists know that I cut my own bangs. My husband and I were visiting Carlsbad for our wedding anniversary and I really wanted to pamper myself. The salon was within walking distance and it just so happened that at the very last minute, Julia the owner was able to get me into one of the stylists the same day I called. And talk about the Universe lining things up perfectly!!!! I showed up right on time, did not have to wait and had forgotten my mask (COVID) yet they have them there just in case. What an absolute amazing experience from the moment I walked into the extremely clean, bright, cool and overall positive, calming energy vibe until I walked out. My stylist, Tamra was so attentive and listened to my concerns of what I wanted to get done. AND SHE LISTENED! I almost fell asleep during the washing, AND the cut, AND the style. I'm not sure how particular others are about their hair and trusting a new stylist they've never used before, yet I had complete faith and confidence in Tamra and I was not disappointed. My cut was spectacular and Tamra made me feel and look beautiful. (and I don't feel pretty very often). The products she used on my hair were extraordinary and my hair smelled as amazing 3 days later as it did the moment I walked out of the salon. Julia cut my hair...actually- let me rephrase that..."Julia repaired the train-wreck sitting on top of my head." 5-6 months ago, I colored my own hair with Olia. It wasn't fantastic but it wasn't horrible, either. I was going for a Chocolate-brown color but Morticia, from the Addams Family, is the best way to describe it. I panicked and tried to get it out myself (insert vicious baking soda & clarifying shampoo- scrub, here)...so now I have Morticia's hair color with a racing stripe in the middle- LOL...wow. Fast forward 6 months, my hair is overgrown w/split ends and begging for a color, fix. I bought another box of hair color thinking eventually I'd get it right. ...but! I was lazy, I had a stressful week and all I wanted was for someone to take care of me and make it all go away- lol! I narrowed my choices down to 2 (Dolce & Studio 78)- Dolce offered me a same-day appointment so I leaped at it. I went on a Friday afternoon (which, according to Julia, is when it's quietest) and I was the only customer. The salon has a bright, inviting aura about it & a great view. She did everything she said she would and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Dolce's Facebook page & pics & Yelp reviews are legit. Julia is such a sweetie and I can't wait to go back. FYI- Check their FB page for deals/specials- they advertise on there. Also, it's probably just me but my Chase card is anti-Apple Pay.
